After dropping everyone off at Yada Village, I decided to stop by Pal-chan’s place since I was already nearby.
”Yo, long time no see!”
Pal-chan was sitting on the porch with her legs dangling over the edge, and the moment she spotted me, she shouted back exactly what I expected.
”Ramen!”
I let out a resigned sigh. Since I was no longer worried about hiding my skills, there was little point pretending otherwise.
”Guess I do not have much choice, huh?”
I conjured a table and chairs, setting out bowls of piping-hot ramen, and Pal-chan immediately dove into the meal without sparing even a moment to wonder where the food had come from. Watching her eat with the same carefree enthusiasm as always brought a laugh to my lips.
A moment later, Lean-san stepped outside. Her gaze shifted to the members of the Knight Order accompanying me, and her expression grew slightly more serious.
”…That is quite an armed escort. Who might these people be?”
”Right. Let me explain.”
Since we would likely be dealing with the Dole nearby, I gave her a brief summary of the situation.
”Y-You are the Hero-sama?!”
The moment she understood, her posture straightened and her tone became noticeably more formal.
”Something like that,” I replied. “We will probably be fighting the Dole close to here, but you do not need to get involved. Leave everything to us.”
”If the Kingdom has already been informed, then I suppose there is nothing to worry about…”
Even so, she still looked uneasy.
Meanwhile, Pal-chan had already emptied her bowl.
”Done already? Want another serving?”
She nodded enthusiastically, completely unaffected by the tension around her. Since we were all gathered anyway, I invited Lean-san to join us, and the three of us ended up sharing ramen together.
Later, after leaving my wives in charge, I headed alone toward the Baron’s territory to deal with the subjugation request.
From the air, the town looked more like an oversized village than a noble’s domain1. Although it was larger than Hasshi Village or Yada Village, its wooden walls were weathered, and the settlement itself showed clear signs of neglect.

After landing out of sight, I entered through the gates using my adventurer card and spent some time exploring. The main street held several shops and workshops, but nothing particularly caught my attention, so I eventually made my way to the Subjugators Guild.
Unfortunately, the receptionist looked completely confused when I presented Marquis Helkud’s letter.
”Um… we have not received any notice regarding this request yet.”
”Ah. I got here too fast, did I?”
After a brief exchange, I headed straight for the Baron’s residence instead.
The moment the guards saw the letter, they ushered me inside.
”W-Welcome! Please come in!”
The man waiting for me bowed so deeply that I almost felt sorry for him.
”I am Torres Moore, a Baron under Marquis Helkud’s authority. I only received notice of your arrival this morning, and I fear nothing has been prepared yet. Please, this way.”
Baron Moore appeared to be in his mid-twenties, and every part of him radiated exhaustion and anxiety.
”As long as I can receive proof of the subjugation afterward, there is no problem,” I assured him. “Just issue the request and I can leave immediately.”
”B-But Hero-sama, proper hospitality—”
”I arrived earlier than expected because I have other business elsewhere.”
The explanation immediately eased some of the tension from his shoulders.
After that, conversation became much easier.
Over tea, he explained how difficult the situation had become. The mountain crossings were dangerous enough on their own, and even minor injuries often forced expeditions to turn back. Repeated failures had steadily worsened the problem, while the previous leaders responsible for handling it had recently lost their lives during an attempt2. Burdened with funerals, administration, and growing pressure from every direction, the young Baron had eventually appealed to the Marquis for help.
When the discussion finally shifted away from grim matters, he hesitantly asked about my companions.
”No, I came alone.”
”Alone…?”
”I am part of the Hero’s party. Even a large number of High Species would not be enough to cause trouble.”
The Baron looked unconvinced, so I produced a mountain of high-grade magic stones from Storage. After staring at them in stunned silence, he finally accepted that I might actually know what I was talking about.
Later, he introduced me to his family. His eldest son, Fen, quickly became fascinated by my stories and eventually gathered enough courage to ask a question.
”Ibuki-sama… could someone like me learn offensive magic?”
Since he possessed the Red Mage class but had not managed to cast a spell yet, I offered to teach him. Using the same materials I had once used with Lotte and Luna, I guided him through the basics until he finally produced a tiny flame.
The excitement on his face made the effort worthwhile.
That evening, the family treated me warmly, and after dinner I retired to the guest room prepared for me.
The next morning, breakfast passed in a relaxed atmosphere. When I announced that I was leaving for the subjugation, Baron Moore made one final request.
”I would appreciate it if Myra could accompany you. She participated in previous expeditions and knows the region well.”
I glanced toward her.
”If you are willing, I do not mind.”
”Yes!” she answered with a bright smile. “I would be happy to help.”
Once we left town, I carried her to avoid wasting time and rushed toward the mountains. The sudden acceleration startled her at first, but she soon relaxed and laughed as we traveled.
After reaching the foothills, I switched to one of my specialized vehicles and began carving a tunnel through the mountain itself.
”Kyaaaaaah!”
Only after hearing her scream did I realize how terrifying it must have looked from the passenger seat.
Feeling a little guilty, I spent the rest of the trip reassuring her.
As I drilled forward, I reinforced the tunnel walls with stone and later installed magical lamps so future expeditions could travel safely through the passage.
Once the route was complete, we headed into the hunting grounds.
The subjugation itself proceeded smoothly. Using my usual methods, I eliminated the monsters one group at a time until the area had been thoroughly cleared.
”All right. Subjugation complete.”
”Huh?! Already?”
”You were there the whole time.”
To prove it, I pulled several defeated monsters from my Inventory.
Myra stared at them, then at me, and finally gave up trying to understand how any of it worked.
When we returned to the mansion and presented the results, Baron Moore was left speechless. He had expected the threat to be reduced, not completely erased.
After confirming the completion of the request and leaving details about the new tunnel in Myra’s capable hands, I said my farewells and departed the Baron’s estate.

Fen is already gifted with the Red Mage class despite his extremely young age.
Myra is actually the blood sister of Baron Moore’s primary wife, meaning she holds high family status despite working as an active commoner adventurer.
