(Next is about what happens from now on)
Kian thrust his hand into the body of the newly appointed luggage carrier, the Night Wraith, pulling out a leather pouch filled with gold coins.
He tossed the heavy pouch in front of Natra and the others.
With a loud clank, a few golden coins spilled out of the leather pouch.
”Wow, you’ve got quite a bit of money. I didn’t think you were living like a lower-rank adventurer.”
”Did Tengu have no knowledge of our financial situation?”
”No. Their recent memories are all about butterflies flying in the sky and clouds that look like potatoes, thinking they look delicious.”
”Tengu…”
Kian opened his mouth, glancing at the slumped shoulders of Natra.
”This is payment for dealing with Oswald during his demonstration, plus a little extra trouble. There are 20 gold coins.”
”Twenty coins. Is that enough to buy a house?”
”No way. That comes with taxes, and upkeep is a pain. I’m an adventurer, after all. ──This 20 will be my starting funds.”
Actually, he shouldn’t have received this much, but since Owl paid instead of Maribel, he was able to get this amount.
A loan would have been tough, and without recovering the assets of McCutchen and Waterman, Maribel wouldn’t have been able to pay even a fraction of this.
He needed to be grateful to Owl.
”With these 20 coins, I’ll buy what we need. Weapons and your clothes. I have some low-quality temporary weapons, but you won’t be able to fight without proper ties for your flowing kimono sleeves and hems and suitable footwear.”
”We’re getting clothes? Then make sure to get some casual wear too. This outfit’s too hot and flashy; it’s embarrassing. It’s fine for combat, but not suitable for walking around town. Especially since milady is a girl of age, right? Get a few outfits, including changes.”
”I don’t really mind, Rufna. If we need to allocate the money elsewhere, then we should.”
”It’s okay, Natra. I’ll buy both clothes and weapons. Since I’m not buying a house, I won’t be stingy here. You two can go buy some casual clothes. Except for exceptions like me, Azraelian aren’t allowed inside the castle. There’s a chance the townsfolk might report me, and if one of Maribel’s subordinates sees us, it could create trouble. Can we shop?”
”Hey, master, who are you talking to? We’re professionals.”
”You’re right. If anything, I might get in the way if I go with you. ──As for my plans for the future, today I’ll spend some time buying clothes and weapons, and visiting the people who helped me out at the fortress. I have to retrieve Serena, and Christy and Oswald have been especially kind to me, so I can’t just leave without saying anything.”
”So, that means the future base will be back in East End?”
Kian nodded at Natra’s words.
”I have a contract with the East End branch of the Adventurer’s Guild, and I am registered as a resident there. The Izerlandfortress pass that Maribel gave me will expire soon, and I think it would be better for me to return to East End, considering the convenience of travel. ──Do you have any opinions on this?”
”None.”
”I’m a newcomer. I don’t understand the situation well, so I’ll just follow the master.”
”Okay. Then, if we return to East End, we’ll take on high-level Rank 6 quests one after another. The immediate goal is to pass the intermediate rank adventurer exam. At the same time, I’ll be honing my combat skills using vampire powers and the techniques of Azrael’s warrior monks. Natra, Rufna, I’m counting on you. Teach me many things, as I’m lacking.”
”Even in bed,♡”
”Ha, leave it to me. If you find it hard to remember things, I’ll educate you in the same way as Rufna, so keep that in mind.”
”────”
Two sadists have increased.
But if it means he can receive services like this morning, he’ll gladly accept it.
Rather, as his vampire powers grow stronger, he’s becoming more insatiable.
If left unchecked, it looks like he might end up in a terrible mess due to nocturnal emissions.
”I’ll give you the magic-draining bishop staff, Rufna. It’s yours from now on.”
”Really?”
”I can’t handle it right now. It’s a magic-enhancing item, so it’s better in your hands. I’ll also return this shamshir to you.”
”Thanks♡”
”Natra, I’ll give you this long sword, but if you find better equipment, you can buy it within the budget.”
”Yes, sir.”
”This budget includes these twenty gold coins and Rufna’s wallet. Spend it as you like. If there’s any left, consider it mine.”
”Are you serious? That’s way too generous.”
”I’m just not stingy with my investments. However, since you’ve received these twenty gold coins, no excuses. Well, I suppose that’s unnecessary advice for you two.”
”I’ll use it wisely. Thank you, my lord.”
As he handed the bag of gold coins to Natra, he felt a sudden sense of lightness.
Kian put the last piece of bread into his mouth, stood up, and took the ‘Nightshade’ coat off the rock.
”Hey, Master.”
”What is it?”
He turned to see Rufna, her beautiful face contorted into a savage smile.
”You’re giving me all this stuff, but aren’t you worried about being betrayed?”
”If you betray Sir Kian, I’ll kill you.”
”Natra──”
Kian cut her off briefly and put on his coat.
Then, he approached the dark elf woman with a wild smile.
”Mmm♡”
”———”
He took her lips.
Poured his saliva into her mouth.
Entwined his tongue with hers, giving her body a melting sensation of pleasure.
”Nn, Mmm…”
He embraced Rufna as she tried to escape, pressing her head back and deepening the kiss.
Initially, she resisted, trying to pull away, but as he sucked her tongue, she relaxed, closed her eyes, and responded to the sweet kiss.
After a long, twenty-second ravishing kiss, Kian pulled away.
Behind him, the dark elf beauty remained, her face soft and her tongue slightly protruding.
”If you betray me, it’s just a sign that my d*ck wasn’t good enough. I’ll increase my d*ck training and make sure Rufna can’t escape, thoroughly making you my d*ck’s slave.”
”…♡”
”Rufna, are you betraying me?”
”Betray? No way, you idiot!♡”
With a huff-huff, she roughly wiped her mouth.
Rufna stepped closer to Kian and reached for his collar.
”You idiot! Your coat, the collar is all crooked! ♡ You idiot!♡”
After fixing his coat, she put her arm around his neck for a deep kiss.
When it ended, Rufna touched her lips with a flushed face.
”Damn… Now I have to reapply my lipstick.”
”That’s because you started saying nonsensical things.”
Natra sighed small and exhaled in exasperation, hands on her hips.
”It’s fine if you want my attention, but Natra doesn’t easily get jokes. Be careful with that.”
”I think I understand jokes well enough.”
”I didn’t do it just to seek attention… Ugh, I thought I could scare you a bit, but I ended up getting scared instead.”
Rufna slumped her shoulders.
Kian slung his light backpack over his shoulder and glanced between the two.
”We’re heading to Izerland fortress. After passing the drawbridge checkpoint, let’s split up. The meeting place is──”
”We’ll return to Sir Kian from our side. If we become ethereal, the keen-eyed won’t notice us.”
”Got it. After I visit Christy’s house, I plan to see Oswald and, if possible, Maribel too. If they don’t let me pass the main castle’s drawbridge, I’ll contact Christy or Maribel and head to Oswald’s house first. If there’s time, I might ask Oswald for Aisha’s house location and drop by to greet her. Make sure to be cautious when regrouping with me.”
”Understood.” “Roger that.”
Kian nodded once and said one last thing.
”Alright, let’s set off. We’ll discuss the details about the Quest tomorrow when we return to East End. We need to first find out if Serena will join us on our Quest.”
