Volume 7 Chapter 7 Demon Lord

”Irmgard… please forgive me…”
Soon, growls from the neighboring room began to echo, yet none dared to intrude.
Then, the door swung open, revealing Milly with a refreshing smile.
”I apologize for the wait. My sister has had a bit of a mishap and is changing at the moment, so please bear with us for a little longer.”
I was certain that Milly had expertly trained Irmgard.
Before long, Irmgard emerged from the back, swaying on her feet.
She looked utterly out of it!
Ms. Milly!
What on earth did you do to her!
This is too terrifying…
With a flushed face, Irmgard leaned against His Majesty as if seeking support.
”Your Majesty… I was wrong. Thanks to my dear big sister Miriallia’s proper guidance, I understand that serving Your Majesty is my greatest joy. Please cherish Irmgard as your beloved possession.”
”…I-I see… as long as you understand. Irmgard is a precious wife to me… I’ll count on you from now on.”
It seemed that Irmgard had been thoroughly indoctrinated into absolute obedience as a succubus’ possession by Milly.
Irmgard, who had been the daughter of Gwain, seemingly prioritizing her father’s wishes, now recognized Shifa as her true master and had been re-educated by Milly to dedicate herself completely.
She stood with her arms crossed beside Your Majesty Shifa, as if she had forgotten all about her family.
”Now, who shall we target next? There are many naive children in the Capital City who know nothing of the succubus code, which is troublesome. If this were the land of the Dream Demon, they’d already be dead without complaint, but you’re fortunate to be in the Capital City. Shall we go for Ferraris next?”
With a snap of her fingers, Milly summoned 2 shadow guardians from the ceiling, who swiftly bound Ferraris and dragged her into the previous room.
”N-No! Absolutely not! Irmgard, Elder Sister! Help me! Noooooo!”
”Miriallia… Ferraris too?”
”Yes, if a succubus serving Your Majesty doesn’t know the rules, it would cast doubt on my abilities as the clan leader. Right, Irmgard?”
Irmgard, who was beside Your Majesty, nodded vigorously.
”Yes! Dear Big Sister Miriallia, please teach Ferraris the rules of being a succubus!”
With a cheerful response, Irmgard waved at Ferraris.
She’s completely under control!
Ms. Milly, you’re not using any dangerous drugs, are you?
Ferraris vanished, and from the next room, a beast-like roar and a low growl began to echo.
”Y-Your Majesty… my apologies.”
”No need to worry, Your Majesty. With Dear Big Sister Miriallia, Ferraris will return as a good succubus.”
Irmgard nodded with conviction.
”Kent’s wife is amazing. But now that this has happened, there’s nothing more we can do, so let’s enjoy Keith’s cooking together with Your Majesty.”
Aldo, relieved by Irmgard’s transformation from a tough attitude, suggested resuming dinner with Your Majesty.
Dorianne, left behind, was trembling and hugging herself, while the fifth daughter, Silvana, was so terrified that she had an accident.
Thus, the succubus women surrounding Shifa underwent Milly’s re-education, instilling in them the absolute obedience to their master, the true mission of a succubus.
After this, Irmgard and the others no longer brought up family matters, and instead, they worked hard to gather the nobles of the Gwain faction to protect Shifa.

*Feria’s Perspective*
After finishing my work, I sank into the bath at the detached palace, letting my mind wander aimlessly.
It was about a woman who had started appearing in my dreams more frequently lately.
She had the same reddish-brown hair as me and eyes the color of a hawk.
Every time she appeared, she begged me to hunt her brother’s soul, but unfortunately, I didn’t know her brother, and even less how to hunt souls.
”Thanks to that dream, I haven’t been able to sleep well lately. Whenever I drift off, it feels like my body is being taken over… What a headache. Should I consult Mr. Kent about this?”
As I floated in the vast bath, lost in thought, I suddenly found my consciousness fading away.
…
…
When I came to, I was no longer in the bath, but in a space shrouded in white mist.
In front of me stood the woman who had been appearing in my dreams.
”Finally, it seems you’re willing to listen to my voice properly?”
”W-what do you want! If you abduct me, Mr. Kent won’t let you get away with it. Send me back, quickly!”
The woman pressed her hand to her temple, lost in thought.
”Sigh… Why is it that this girl is the only direct descendant left among the remaining divine children on the Demon Continent? Her lack of sense is striking. But, the reality is I have no choice but to bet on this girl.”
Despite her lament, the woman grasped my shoulder firmly.
”Listen, Feria. You are the descendant of a divine child raised in purebred conditions by the heavenly realm. Though your blood is mixed with humans, you are still of divine lineage. In fact, you possess the ability to create jobs.”
She claimed I could create jobs, but could that really be true…?
”When did I ever create a job?”
”Do you think Orpheus created jobs like [Maid Warrior] and [Maid Dragon]? Those are jobs you originally created. That’s the ability of a child of the divine.”
My mind was racing with confusion at her words.
”I created those jobs? But even Ines had obtained them!”
”I said you created them. Once a job is created, others can obtain it. That’s the ability of a divine child.”
”But I’m not strong with [Green]…”
”It seems that because you have human blood mixed within you, my large-scale protective barrier, the ‘Divine Judgment,’ has been activated. I could even exclude you from it right now if you wanted.”
As the woman touched me, a card shot out from the back of my right hand.
When she placed her fingers on it, the card—originally green—changed to a familiar shade of red.
”Ah! It turned red!”
”That’s only because you’re part of the divine race,” the woman replied. “Normally, it takes an enormous amount of work to remove someone.”
”With this, I can fight evenly against Dee-Dee.”
”Ah, you mean that daughter of the Black Dragon clan? It’s true that my Divine Magic is less effective against the Black Dragons, which is why that [red] child was born. I don’t really want to increase their numbers, though…”
The woman sighed again.
”Well, back to the topic at hand. I need you to hunt Orpheus’s soul. He’s a criminal who not only killed my father but also manipulated a part of our kin to escape to the surface. When I sent pursuers after him long ago and trapped him in another dimension, he became even more violent and has turned into a madman now. He used to be a decent little brother, but ever since he killed our father over a woman, he’s gone awry.”
The woman spoke with a nostalgic yet sorrowful expression.
”You want me to hunt down Orpheus’s soul? How do I do that?”
”He has become nothing but a soul. If we eliminate the body that’s acting as his vessel, he should eventually materialize as a black mist. At that moment, if you sprinkle your blood on him, I’ll take care of the rest. He’s a foolish little brother, after all.”
”Could it be that you actually like Orpheus?”
The woman’s face turned bright red as she denied it.
”No way! That womanizer! Do you have any idea how many scoldings and jabs I’ve taken because of him? …But if he had suggested we fall together into damKingdom, I might have followed him.”
”So you really do like him, huh?”
”It’s not like that! Besides, it was I who summoned Kent, the finest vessel prepared by him, with the soul of Horikawa Kento from Another World. Orpheus turning back into a physical form would only invite trouble, so this time I’ve decided to properly seal his soul and keep it under my watch.”
Mr. Kent was saying he was from Another World, but he really was…Horikawa Kento is Mr. Kent’s real name.
”Probably, without your help, Kent would have lost. Even weakened, he was a Supreme God-class existence from the Celestial Kingdom, a powerful man who even after his fall, ruled the continent as a Demon Lord.”
The woman wrapped her arms around my shoulders and leaned in close.
”So, what happens to Mr. Kent if he loses?”
”At best, he’ll be sent back to Another World. At worst, his soul will vanish into eternal darkness.”
The woman was suggesting that if Mr. Kent lost to Orphe, he would disappear from our world.
”That’s a problem. I plan to have 5 children with Mr. Kent, you know.”
”Oh my, Kent’s soul is compatible with Horikawa Kento, even charming a goddess…”
The woman tilted her head slightly and looked at me.
”Well, it’s better than Orphe running amok. Even if he regains his body and attacks the Celestial Kingdom, I’d rather deal with that than lose Kent. So, will you do your best to keep Kent safe?”
”Yes! It’s Feria’s duty to protect Mr. Kent! By the way, what’s your name?”
As soon as I asked the woman her name, my vision started to blur.
”…Kleina…My name is the guardian of the Celestial Kingdom…”
The woman’s voice faded and became inaudible.
In the next instant, I felt a sharp pain in my nose.
Cough!
Cough!
When I woke up, I was in the bathtub, drowning.
It seemed I had fallen asleep sometime ago.
As I raised my face to the surface of the water, I coughed violently.
I almost died…It was just another strange dream.
I couldn’t possibly be a goddess.
Just an orphan…
I instinctively flipped my hand over, revealing the card.
But it was still the same [green] card as always.
It was just a dream after all.
There’s no way I could become like Dee-Dee with the [red] card.
It was just a pathetic dream an orphan had.
Feeling sad, I decided to get out of the bath.

~Character Description~
Letticia is the second daughter of the noble Lawrence family from the Capital City. Raised by her mother with a strong sense of duty, she was educated in both combat and scholarly knowledge from a young age. She believes it’s her role to protect the weak.
Without inheritance rights, she felt powerless staying at home. Driven by a desire to make a difference, she left to become an adventurer in the South District. Her monster-hunting skills gained her fame and caught the attention of Veris, leading her family to rise as a vassal house.
Logical and clear-headed, Letticia became Veris’s trusted aide. Among nobles of Gwain and Fabulanova, she is feared as the Demon Lord’s eyes and ears. Yet her curiosity and compassion often lead her to act recklessly, especially when encountering the unknown.
Kind to allies, merciless to oppressors—she draws a clear line between friend and foe. She frequently offers help and advice but doesn’t hesitate to assert authority when needed. Her intimidating presence during debates makes many back down, though she always listens for understanding and resolution.
To those close to her, Letticia is reliable and respected. To outsiders, she seems almost untouchable: beautiful, powerful, and highly skilled in magic, combat, and leadership.
A true all-rounder, she balances swordsmanship and magic with ease. Her graceful, acrobatic combat style has earned her the title of “Dancing Princess.”
