”Gargantua… does losing one of your horns mean something really bad for an Oni-kin?”
Kazumi sets a brewed cup of tea in front of Gargantua, asking with a worried look.
”It’s not exactly bad…”
Gargantua, unusually hesitating, takes a sip of tea before speaking again.
”For an Oni-kin woman… at the time of marriage… the horn is cut off…”
Hearing Gargantua’s words, everyone, including me, freezes in place.
Seeing this, Lilith smiles mischievously.
”Looks like you’re in a real pickle, my lord…♡”
”Right? Gargantua is the chieftain of the Oni-kin, isn’t she? Can’t just brush this off…”

Rena, who had been helping Kazumi, sits down and speaks to Gargantua.
”Kazumi and Rena are right. Gargantua… you have an important role to fulfill. To step down as chieftain without accomplishing it… seems rather irresponsible.”
”My… role… is it?”
Lilith’s bad smirk from just moments ago is gone, replaced by a serious gaze as she looks at Gargantua.
Gargantua, as if realizing something, stares back at Lilith, seeking guidance on his purpose.
”Probably Azradelius’s doing… But back then, the Demon King had his base within the Empire’s territory, raiding the borders of Romuna Kingdom. ──For conquest, you know.”
”That’s right. That ‘Oni-kin’s Gargantua,’ a member of the Demon King’s Four Dark Heavenly Kings, was a terror to everyone. Your bad reputation even reaches the Oni-kin, wouldn’t you say?”
Gargantua’s expression shifts to one of realization as she listens to Rena and Lilith explain.
”So… Gargantua, what you need to do is… Heal the Oni-kin’s reputation.”
”I understand… I understand, but… how?”
Gargantua turns to me, asking that question… but it’s okay.
”GarGar, you’re already doing it, right?”
Across the table, Martina leans forward, her bright smile aimed at Gargantua.
”W-what do you mean?”
”Oh, Aluda got it!”
”Yeah, Meluda got it too!”
Gargantua scratches her head, and the dwarf sisters giggle.
”Gargantua, you… since coming to Raetia… what kind of things have you experienced?”
Liz, who had been adjusting the ‘Eagle Eye’ string she had learned to use in the recent demon battle, raises her face and asks Gargantua.

(Gargantua’s POV)
(Since I came to Raetia…)
I pondered Liz’s question.
Shinji and Milia called me ‘friend.’
Even my lord Toldo, the my lord craftsman.
I registered with the guild and was accepted as an adventurer.
I became friends with Elberhardt, Bone, and Raincrist, able to laugh and talk with them.
And… the members of ‘Famière.’
(To me, it is no exaggeration to say that they have become my friends.)
”Is that what…”
I scanned the faces around the Safety Zone table.
Each one wore a gentle, kind smile.
”You seem to understand now. The path you’re on is the right one. Just keep going… keep moving forward,” she said.

Liz turned to me with her usual friendly smile.

Asuka, who knew of my wandering, laughed.
”I made cookies. Normally, sweets are forbidden at night, but tonight is a special occasion.”
Noo, who had been bustling in the Safety Zone kitchen, placed a large plate of cookies on the table.

”Well, the issue of the broken horn… we can let Hiroya take responsibility for that, can’t we?”
Saying something outrageous, Kazumi popped a cookie into her mouth.
”Wait a moment, Kazumi. Aren’t you Hiroya’s fiancée?”
”Don’t worry, Gargantua. Most of us here are Hiroya’s women, aren’t we?”
Liz answered me, her cheeks stuffed with cookies, as I panicked.
”Noo and Lilith are different, though.”
”And AsuAsu is a bit tricky.”
As Aluda and Meluda spoke, the 3 named stood up simultaneously.
”When I am freed from the Welnia Labyrinth… I too will become the my lord’s woman♡”
”Noo as well, will receive Sir Hiroya’s seed.”
”I am both Gorge’s wife and Hiroya’s woman.”
…I understood, but wasn’t Hiroya just too popular with the ladies?
”That’s why♡ You should become one of Hiroya’s women too, Gargantua.”
”No… Hiroya must have his own opinions. He wouldn’t just casually take on Oni-kin’s women…”
Kazumi said it simply, but I, clueless about the intricacies of relationships, still didn’t quite grasp the situation.

He says things like that so casually.
I’ve heard him say things that make my heart race a few times before…

Simona laughs heartily.

Dorothy looks at me sadly.

After saying that, I look up…and everyone is staring at me with curious expressions.
”I…I like Hiroya…”
”That’s settled then!”
”That’s great, Hiroya♡”
”What if I was rejected and…”
My face gets hot and I lower my head.
I hear the cheers of the crowd, Martina and Rena’s excited squeals, and Hiroya’s relieved sigh.
”So Gargantua’s horn situation is solved♡”
