I pour milk tea into a cup and hand it to Lifia.
”Here you go.”
”Thank you!”
Lifia smiles happily as she takes the cup.
She takes a sip and her eyes widen in surprise.
”Wow, it’s delicious…”
Staring at the cup, she takes another sip.
”This milk tea has a wonderful aroma. I don’t know the type of tea, but the milk is added perfectly. It’s just the right richness, and it’s well balanced.”
Lifia savors the taste like an expert.
I can’t help but be impressed by her serious look.
”You know a lot about tea.”
”Yeah, I often had tea at home, so I learned naturally from a young age. But this milk tea is amazing! Even with lots of sugar, it still brings out the flavor of the tea.”
Lifia takes another sip and smiles satisfied.
”I’m glad you like it.”
I pour my drink and sit next to her.
I feel her body stiffen slightly at that moment.
She really does seem shy around guys.
Can I really make a move like this?
Well, I guess I’ll just enjoy the conversation.
”So, I want to ask you something. Are you a…”
Lifia hesitates a bit, then gathers her courage to ask.
”Are you a hero?”
I’m a bit surprised.
That’s direct.
”I’m not really a hero.”
I think for a second.
How much should I tell this girl I just met?
It feels too soon to reveal everything.
”I’m not a hero. But why do you think that?”
”Only a legendary hero can make a room like this appear so quickly. I’ve also heard rumors that the royal family will summon a hero soon.”
Lifia looks at me seriously, her eyes full of expectation.
It makes sense; the “Love Hotel” features are quite special, so it’s not surprising she thinks that.
”I see.”
I laughed a little and looked back at Lifia.
”To put it simply, I failed to become a hero.”
I thought this was okay to say.
The truth is, I’m not recognized as a hero and I don’t plan to act like one.
”Is that so?”
Her face showed surprise at my answer.
But she didn’t ask more, as if she sensed something.
”Then, I want to ask something too.”
I decided to change the topic.
”Are you an elf, Lifia?”
I asked about the thing I was curious about while looking at her ears.
Lifia lowered her cup and looked away, thinking for a moment.
”Um, I’m half-elf.”
I was surprised by her words.
Lifia continued.
”My mom is human, but my dad was an elf. My ears are shorter than normal elves, which is a bit embarrassing…”
She touched her own ears when she said this.
It was so cute that I couldn’t help but smile.
”I see, that makes sense.”
She was born between elves and humans.
She has features that are different from normal elves.
It seemed like she had some insecurities about it too.
”But having shorter ears is pretty. It’s attractive. It might even be the ideal length.”
I meant it.
For someone not used to real elves, Lifia is just right.
”Plus, your vibe is really special. I didn’t see any girl in the town as pretty as you.”
As I said this, Lifia’s cheeks turned even redder.
She looked away shyly, but she clearly looked happy.
”No, I’m not that special…”
”That’s not true. Your smile is very charming. Even when I’m tired, looking at you makes me feel better.”
Lifia stared back at me, surprised.
I could feel my words reaching her heart.
While looking into her eyes, I wanted to know more about her.
Lifia looked back at me, her expression softening little by little.
”Do you really think so?”
”Of course. Spending time with you is special for me.”
When I said that, her face lit up, and her eyes started to sparkle.
”I can’t believe you said that… I’m so happy!”
