Volume 1 Chapter 21 The Serious Spirit

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

A beautiful half-elf girl with blonde hair and blue eyes, Lifia, is kneeling at my feet.

 Completely n*ked.

 ”Lifia”

 ”Yes!”

”I want to ask you something.”

 ”Yes, anything!”

She acts like a loyal servant swearing allegiance.

She has always been faithful and obedient to me, but I’ve never seen her this serious before.

It doesn’t feel like the usual Lifia.

The awkwardness is stronger than before.

 I should relax a bit.

I lift Lifia up and sit her on my lap from behind.

”Come on, don’t be so tense.”

 ”Um, um… Master?”

Feeling playful, I lightly tickle Lifia’s sides.

 ”Eek! W-What are you doing!”

I quickly move my fingers, and Lifia yells, “Please stop, Master!” trying to escape, but I’m holding her tightly.

 ”M-Master, stop, it tickles!”

I keep tickling her without stopping.

 ”Ah! Eek! No, stop!”

With every tickle, Lifia twists and laughs.

Her tense expression softens, and she slowly returns to her usual self.

I can’t help but smile back at her.

 ”Hah, hah…”

After a while, we enjoy the tickling game, and Lifia looks out of breath.

 ”How do you feel?”

 ”Hah… What do you mean?”

”Are you a little less tense now?”

 ”Huh? Ah… yes.”

Realizing my intention, she answers a bit shyly.

”I like the usual Lifia. You don’t need to change.”

I trust Lifia’s feelings and loyalty.

 ”Yes… I understand.”

 ”Good.”

I pet Lifia’s head while asking.

I also squeeze her breasts a little.

”So, what was that earlier? Moo-Moo seemed happy.”

The event happened as soon as Lifia mentioned the spirit, Mooluumventas.

It was a flood of bright light.

”Ah, um… Yes. It seems I got excited when I learned Moo-Moo, Mooluumventas’s name.”

 ”You didn’t know until now?”

”Yes… A spirit user learns the spirit’s name, and by calling it, they borrow its power to use magic. But a spirit user with no power can’t fully hear the name.”

 Lifia looks shy.

”So until now, I could only hear the first letter.”

 I see.

So she only knew the “Moo” part, that’s why it was “Moo-Moo”.

 It wasn’t just a nickname.

”Normal elves can hear about 2 letters of a spirit’s name by the time they’re grown. And as they get stronger, they can hear more letters.”

Even young elves can use stronger Spirit Magic than Lifia.

Now I understand a bit why Lifia kept putting down her magic.

”So, Lifia, does that mean you can use stronger magic now?”

 ”Yes, much more than before.”

Lifia looks up at me with grateful eyes and speaks from the heart.

”It’s all thanks to you, Master. Once again, thank you very much.”

Her pure gratitude boils up a sense of guilt in me.

 ”…Sorry.”

 ”Huh?”

”I should have told you sooner that I could see the spirit’s name.”

I was hiding that I could peek into Lifia’s private moments.

I was worried she might pull away from me.

”No! It’s because… I was avoiding explaining my lack of power. I was worried you might be disappointed or let down.”

 We were both the same.

”Then let’s make sure to talk more about each other from now on.”

 ”Yes!”

Lifia shows a smile like a blooming flower.

Seeing that smile, something in the depths of my chest grows warm too.

”So, how strong are you now, Lifia?”

”Well… It’s said that even normal elves can only hear about 4 to 5 letters of a spirit’s name.”

 ”…Mooluumventas. That’s 9 letters.”

 ”Yes.”

 Lifia answers nervously.

”More than 8 letters… Only legendary High Elves have ever heard that many…”

Is Lifia really able to use high-level Spirit Magic now?

Surprised by her power, I ask one more thing that’s on my mind.

”Can you maybe take down the orcs outside?”

”Hmm… Mooluumventas, can you do it?”

Lifia was talking to the spirit, her face serious as they exchanged words.

Then she looked at me with a puzzled expression and said,

”It says it’s easy. It’s actually really pumped up about it.”

Apparently, Moo-Moo is really angry at the orc that tried to attack Lifia.

Should we give it a try?

It’s uncertain, but we have to go for it.

 Hope is in sight.

 ”Alright, let’s get started.”

 ”Please.”
