(Hiroya’s POV)
(It was the open space on the second floor…)
I walked up to the second floor where Captain Helena of Rose Hip was waiting.
Before I completely ascended the stairs, I peeked into the open space. I saw Helena sitting on the sofa, looking a bit anxious.
She wore a light pink night robe, and she was seated so lightly that she leaned back just enough to not fully relax. There was a hint of tension in her posture.
(She must have been waiting after her bath, I should hurry and join her.)
I steeled myself and headed to the open space.

”Mr. Hiroya…”
As I sat down on the sofa across from her, Helena murmured softly, looking a bit down.
”Good job on the Great Labyrinth exploration. How was it?”
”Yes!”
As I asked, Helena straightened up and stood from the sofa.
She looked down at me with serious eyes.
”Our team, Helena and the Rose Hip’s top squad, reached the deepest layer of the Great Labyrinth Raetia and conquered it!”
”Oh, congratulations…”
I felt a bit overwhelmed by her excitement, so I stood up to grab some drinks from the cabinet.

”That’s amazing. It’s been such a short time since we first conquered it, but Rose Hip is really something!”
”Ah, thank you!”
I poured wine into the glass I prepared. Helena sank back onto the sofa as the nervousness melted away, and I offered her the drink.
I took a gulp of the fruit water I had taken from the cooler and continued the conversation.
”The boss on the 19th floor was something else, right?”
”It was the Salamander…”
After finishing her report, Helena took a sip from her wine glass. She seemed to darken a bit after I brought up that topic.
”We were completely defeated the first time we faced it… If it weren’t for the help of Sir Wash, who just happened to pass by, Helena’s team would have taken the full force of its breath…”
”I see… But you got your revenge, right?”
”Yes. In my team, we have a strategist called ‘the brain of the clan’… and we have members who can carry out her plans perfectly.”
Helena smiled proudly, and we talked excitedly about the battle against the Salamander for a while.

”So, you didn’t fight Darius Grant?”
”No. He was fishing by the underground lake. From his armor and presence, he looked like a strong knight.”
When I shared our misfortune on the 20th floor, Helena mentioned that they had also met the guardian Darius.
”He glanced at Helena and then pointed to the path to the deepest floor. But… that was all he did. Did Lord Hiroya… fight him?”

I lightly touched the hilt of my Kamikirimaru at my waist.

During our conversation, Helena emptied her glass and leaned forward, placing her hands on the low table as if she had made up her mind.
”?”

Her cheeks were bright red, but her eyes were fixed on me.
”It’s okay. I will keep the promise. Are we doing it now?”

Helena’s expression lit up.
”But, aren’t you tired from just coming back from the Great Labyrinth?”
”The healing effects of Raetia’s hot springs have taken care of my fatigue. I’m fine.”
Helena’s face was full of expectation as she moved closer.
”Ah, don’t rush. My room is just over there…”
”Then, let’s move there right away!”
”So, don’t rush, okay!?”
I grabbed Helena’s hand to stop her as she hurried toward my room.
”Ah…♡”
Suddenly weak in the knees, Helena slumped onto the sofa, her cheeks flushed and her dreamy eyes locked onto me.
”Huh…? Is it that bad?”
”But… I’ve been holding back for so long…”
”It’s only been about 2 weeks since we made that promise…”
Could it be that she hasn’t let it out at all during this time?

Helena stroked my hand with her other hand, her touch warming me.
”Laura and Frieda got to be with Lord Hiroya… but I still haven’t…”
”Okay! I get it! I get it! Right?”
”Ahn♡”
If I kept seeing Helena like this, all flushed and tempting, I wasn’t sure I could stay calm.
I took her hand and led her to my room right there.

(Frieda’s POV)
”I wonder if Captain Helena is having some fun with Mr. Hiroya right now?”
Arica from Helena’s squad was dropping off bags in the Clan house lobby.
It seemed she was in charge of Helena’s change of clothes and bath items.
”‘Fun’… what does that mean?”
Aoi, lounging on the lobby sofa, asked Arica while stretching her body.
”It’s just that, you know. ──Right, everyone?”
”Yeah, the captain has been holding back, too.”
”Finally, she’s getting her promise fulfilled.”
Arica looked for agreement, and Erne, the vice-captain, and the knight Vianca chuckled together.
”Hey, let’s not talk about such rude things.”
Helena warned them.
Seriously, did they know about that promise too?
”But, Vice-Captain, I can’t help but feel a bit jealous of the captain.”
”~It is true, isn’t it? Oh, I wish I had made a promise too when I had the chance.”
The dwarf Ramona and the elf Yori pouted their cheeks a bit.
”You say that, but Lord Hiroya is still a ‘man’, right?”
They are also members of the ‘Rose Hip’ team.
They must have some dislike for men.
”That’s a silly question, Vice-Captain.”
”Yeah. You should understand that well, Vice-Captain.”
”Ugh…”
Helena stuttered at the words from Porter, the strategist Machua, and the giant Rola.
”W-well… when the captain comes back, let’s not tease about Lord Hiroya, okay?”
Helena warned her team members and left the lobby with Nele standing next to her.
”Vice-Captain? Let’s hurry to the two0th floor!”
Nele called out from behind as she followed.
”Nele… the girls from Laura’s team might need to hurry, but you don’t have to rush… ah──”
”That’s right, Vice-Captain. You were there when that promise was made too, Helena♡”
The vice-captain smiled softly, catching Helena off guard.
(Oh right. She was also captivated by the adult Lord Hiroya’s charm…)
Remembering that there was another girl who admired Lord Hiroya, Helena couldn’t help but look up at the sky.
