Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

Following the history of a man named Kian Vahid, he accelerate towards her using ‘Pursuit of the Shadow.’

Chasing the shadow of those golden days.

 One step after another,

 he pushes forward.

 Forward into the future.

 ”SARAAAAAA────!!!!!!”

 One step.

 He steps into the wind.

 Two steps.

 He goes beyond memories.

 Three steps.

He cuts through confusion and kill my doubts.

 Four steps.

 He becomes like lightning──.

 ”────!?!?!?”

He stomp down on Sarah’s right foot.

He pins her foot while trying to jump back, spreading a ‘Wall’ at her neck, but the fragile ‘Wall’ couldn’t keep up.

He swing his wooden sword, powered by ‘Pursuit of the Shadow,’ and break her neck.

In the moment of the leap that starts it all.

A loud bang like a catapult launching a stone at the castle wall echoed.

Sarah’s neck broke, not just metaphorically, and her left side crumpled.

Blood sprayed from her thin lips.

Her slender shoulder tilted right and she fell.

The girl’s eyes widened in shock, her life fading quickly.

 ”…K, …a, …!”

From the last step that crushed her foot, he couldn’t stop his momentum and leaped forward.

Trained Kian’s feet, still bleeding, took the fifth step, leaving 2 black trails burning on the stone floor as he slid past Sarah.

The girl he passed flickered, her body fading like a ghost.

 The shadow is catching up.

Azrael’s hot wind blew down into the grand arena once more.

A roar like ringing in his ears, mixed with the angry roar of Shajar Nakash.

In the chaos, as he stood frozen with his wooden sword raised, he heard the gentle voice of his former fiancée.

 ”…Kian…”

 (Sarah, I…)

 ”…Thank you…”

 (────)

* * *

 ”Lord Kian!”

Before Kian could even enjoy his victory, he stumbled forward and fell.

Then, Priscilla’s loud voice called out.

She had been watching him closely all along.

Kian fell face-first onto the stone floor with a crunch that sounded like a broken nose, but soon his whole body felt itchy and warm as healing began.

Whether healing was really needed in this memory world or not, it eased his mind a lot.

The smell of citrus perfume mixed with sweet female sweat filled the air.

Just as he felt his body lift, the witch with white hair suddenly appeared close-up in his vision.

”Lord Kian, focus! I was watching you, and that was way too dangerous!”

 ”Forget me──think about her.”

Sweat beaded on Kian’s forehead as he grabbed the witch’s bare shoulder.

”You have to fix Sarah’s soul, tie it back to her body with magic.”

”Got it! I’ll do it, so just hold still! Even here in the memory world, if your body gets hurt, it can seriously damage the real you!”

 ”Wait, so Sarah is…”

”She’s fine. Her soul is fused with a wraith, so time is frozen for her. As long as her spirit form doesn’t break or a huge blast wipes out her body, she can’t die.”

 (That’s a relief.)

It was the final strike, so he couldn’t dodge it.

He swung to cut off a neck, plain and simple.

There was no way to hold back.

Well, thanks to Natra’s example, he knew he wouldn’t actually die.

”I’m going to capture the soul now. Wait here.”

Priscilla let go of Kian and rushed to Sarah, who was still lying down behind them.

Sarah’s body glowed softly, wrapped in a ball of light.

 ”Ugh…”

Behind her, the white-haired witch started the soul-binding ritual, while Sarah slowly lifted herself up.

 The healing was working.

But in Sarah’s memory world, people had vanished──no one was left in the stands.

Because the world’s master was knocked out, maybe no one could be kept alive anymore.

 (Father…)

Kian frowned as he looked toward the empty VIP seats.

The man who had been there was a fake, but…

He still wanted to say just a few words to him.

He heard Demete’s story, and he wondered if he could really talk properly when they themet next time.

’That was a wonderful “Pursuit of the Shadow.” Your steps were perfect. You’re used to bending the laws of the world and healing with “domain” and healing magic, so you can do it easily.’

 (Thank you)

He looked down at the ‘glasses’ in his chest pocket.

 That’s right.

Not just Priscilla, but she was also watching Kian closely.

Thank you, ‘glasses’──just as he was about to thank his, a chill ran down his back.

It seemed like that feeling was right, as Priscilla, who was using her magic, turned around with the speed of a predator, and ‘glasses’ shouted sharply, “Kian!”

 ”Hey, brother.”

 ”――――.”

Tap, tap, the sound of shoes.

Even though Sarah had fainted and people were gone from the world of memories, a third party had intervened besides Kian and the others.

Kian stood up unsteadily and turned to look behind him.

There stood a beautiful young man with androgynous features, his black hair flowing in the wind like a wolf’s tail.

 ”Jibril…”

 ”Kukukukuku.”

Kian’s brother, Jibril, who was tall for a boy, stood before Kian in casual clothes.

He held a black umbrella that looked familiar in his right hand.

 Priscilla’s voice echoed from behind.

 ”Is Jibril… really him?”

Without answering the witch’s question, the young Jibril walked up to Kian, stopped, and smiled.

”As I said, we meet again, brother. It’s been a while.”
