Volume 3 Chapter 62 Something’s Wrong With Ramsey
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”Hey, you there. Do you know ‘Thorn Demon’?”
* * *
”Ah…”
As the damp night air flowed in through the window, Lyritisse, the main healer of ‘Lion’s Companion,’ suddenly awoke.
Rising from the large white bed, she found herself in a room of the ‘Starship Inn’ where ‘Lion’s Companion’ was staying.
The room was quite spacious, with every furnishing from the candlesticks and mirrors to the tables and chairs being a Rank 1 item from East End.
”――――.”
Due to the room being pitch-dark, those interiors were submerged in an eerie darkness.
Looking down at herself with sleepy eyes, Lyritisse wore her usual white blouse, a tight mini-skirt with slits at the waist, and black reinforced stockings that covered her entire legs.
The ribbon on her blouse collar was untied, and the buttons at her chest were undone.
It seemed she had run out of energy to change and had collapsed back into bed halfway through.
(This won’t do. Lately, I’ve been so exhausted… I fell asleep in the middle of the street before, and Ninini scolded me.)
’Lion’s Companion’ was a group of adventurers that should be a model of the highest rank.
It was not a party where weaklings or those lacking self-management skills belonged.
She had always maintained a high level of awareness and must continue to do so.
Otherwise, she would not be able to face Sir Rean, the party leader.
”Sir Rean…”
With a creak, Lyritisse got out of bed.
Rean was once her savior and now the object of her faint affection.
Even if his feelings were directed towards the High Elf beauty, Vestacia, it didn’t matter.
Lyritisse intended to stay by Rean’s side and continue to support him.
”――――.”
Frowning at the scent of soap and animal sweat emanating from her body, she hurried through the spacious room and out into the second-floor corridor.
The corridor on the second floor was open to the sky, and as expected, the lights had gone out.
The main tavern downstairs was bustling, so it seemed the silence was peculiar to this separate building.
It was the time before the summer market, and the owner of ‘The Starship Inn’ refused lodging despite having rooms, leaving them empty.
Perhaps… this separate building was supposed to be exclusively rented by ‘Lion’s Companion.’
’Ah, ah, ah, ahhn, Rean! My Rean!’
”…”
A faint, delicate moan suddenly echoed through the inn.
It was because the inn was so quiet that Lyritisse could hear it.
Using the stealth skills honed from years of adventuring, Lyritisse approached the furthest room in the corner on the second floor.
The plush carpet effectively muffled her footsteps.
There was no sign of detection.
She easily reached the door made of fine wood and pressed herself against it.
’Ugh, that’s a tight grip, Vestacia!’
’Rean, it’s so good, ahhh, it’s amazing!’
The bed creaked noisily.
It was clear what the two were doing.
The door was thick, with almost no gaps, but the dense scent of s*x seemed to overflow into the corridor.
They had been regularly making love like this, but recently, they had even more opportunities to join.
Before, it was always Vestacia who sought it, but now Rean was starting to make advances as well.
Since returning to the East End, Rean, a top-ranked adventurer, had completed several relatively easy Bloodsucking Kind hunts, but during these short expeditions and overnight stays, he invited Vestacia to his tent every night to satisfy his beastly desires.
Clearly, he was not calm──.
He seemed to be driven by some urgency, throwing himself into the act with frustration.
Feeling this, Lyritisse remained silent, unable to speak of such delicate matters.
As always, she only listened to the sounds of their lovemaking through doors and walls.
Afterward, she would return to her own room──.
”…”
(This isn’t right. I must restrain myself. Listening in on their… affair like this is unacceptable.)
Lyritisse felt a throb between her ‘womanhood’ beneath her tight mini skirt, but she forced it down with sheer will.
Falling onto the bed without changing her clothes was a fortunate choice, after all.
A bit of moisture from her excitement would be hidden by her reinforced stockings.
She lightly shook her flaxen hair and prepared to turn away from the door to the party leader’s chambers,
”──Hey, Lyr, what are you doing?”
”M-Ms. Ninini!?”
Startled, she saw the cat Beastmen scout lurking silently behind her.
She barely managed to hold back her voice, feeling a jolt of fear that Rean and the others might have sensed her presence.
Yet, it seemed the two were still engaged in their activities, as the sultry sounds of a high elf’s moans echoed from beyond the door.
’Ahhh, no! Not my… my noble rear! To defile it like this, ohhh!’
”Are they at it again?”
”Yes, it seems so. After a battle, men often get… excited. And at their age, the desire to procreate must be hard to contain.”
”But they’ve been at it way too much lately. They’ve been going since they returned from the Quest this morning! It’s crazy!”
”Surely, they must have taken a break at some point.”
”How can we know? Rean and Vest have endless stamina!”
”We shouldn’t disturb Sir Rean. Shall we find something to eat? We finally have some clear days ahead. We can enjoy a drink or 2.”
Lyritisse suggested brightly, though she felt like she was trying to warm a dying egg.
Where there is a beginning, there must be an end.
When they were 12 years old, the 4 of them miraculously came together as ‘Lion’s Companion,’ but they couldn’t stay like this forever until they grew old and died.
If Rean and Vestacia decided to retire early and hide away in some countryside, Lyritisse and Ninini needed to think about their future.
But they had more money than a clumsy merchant guild, and their skills in battle and deep understanding of magic, monsters, and labyrinths were priceless treasures from their days as adventurers.
They would definitely not have trouble living.
Ninini said it was fine if they disbanded.
This might be the right time for them.
However, for Lyritisse, it was more important that Rean stayed by her side than money or daily comfort.
(──No! I shouldn’t think like this! If Sir Rean and Vest are happy, how can I not celebrate that?)
Lyritisse was in deep worry.
Ninini looked at the beautiful woman with amber hair with a cool gaze and shook her head.
”Unfortunately, there’s new work. It seems a dangerous request has come in that no advanced-rank adventurer party wants to take. Friedrich sent a letter asking me to come to the Guild Master’s office right away.”
The right hand of the cat Beastmen, gloved in black, held a sealed envelope marked with the Guild’s crest.
It looked like it could hold playing cards.
”A dangerous request…? What kind of request exactly?”
”The letter didn’t say. It must be something secret to discuss directly in the Guild Master’s office.”
”I see. I need to call Sir Rean and Vest. But…”
”I’ll call them when they finish what they’re doing. Lyr, you should go back to your room and change into something else. You’re wearing the same outfit as this morning, right? You’re not poor; look nice!”
”Thank you! I will do that.”
She let out a sigh of relief as she slipped past the cat Beastmen.
She wondered what would happen if Ninini called out for Rean loudly, and the two of them, wearing only their undergarments, came blushing out to the doorway.
She understood Rean’s feelings, but deep down, it still hurt her.
If she could avoid seeing it, she absolutely did not want to.
(But you do want to eavesdrop on their affair, don’t you?)
Ignoring that mean voice inside her, she closed the door to her room.
Lyritisse leaned against the door and looked up at the dark ceiling.
”I am such a terrible woman…”
* * *
”Lyr, are you feeling alright?”
”Huh…?”
Forty minutes later.
Dressed in his usual black armor, Rean stood with Ninini in light gear, and together they arrived at the Guild in East End with Lyritisse.
