Volume 3 Chapter 71 The R٭Pe That Wasn’t Over

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

Kian didn’t know if Serena heard him or if she realized it was strange that she, the r*pe victim, was running away. Suddenly, she stopped in front of the windbreak forest outside the main building.

Kian felt a bit relieved and quickly closed the distance.

Serena stood there with her back to him, fists clenched and upright.

Her silver, natural short hair danced lightly in the wind blowing from the main gate.

 ”Serena!”

 ”…Kian…!”

When she turned around, her usually confident face was twisted in confusion.

She held one arm with the other, her lovely arm extending from her thief outfit.

Kian felt a fresh surprise seeing her short hairstyle that showed her neck.

He remembered the time when he had had a training play at the brōtḥel and felt his p**is get hard.

Quickly, he shoved his hand in his pocket to adjust himself.

Kian opened his mouth with a serious expression.

”Serena, I know why you’re running away from me. It’s because I did something terrible to you before, right? At that time, I was mentally unstable, and I was… overwhelmed by my s*x drive. It was just a passing urge. I’m sorry. Please forgive me.”

”No, that’s fine. I tried to use Kian as a tool, and I lost badly in our duel. I can’t complain.”

Serena paused her words, looking a bit lost as her eyes wandered, and then lifted her face to Kian.

”It was strange to run away from you. I shouldn’t have, since I didn’t do anything wrong. I should have been bold. But… the moment I saw Kian, I felt a chill running through me…”

”Before coming here, a soldier of the tiger beastmen said something similar to me. It seems my magic power’s wave gives an instinctive fear to the sensitive beastmen.”

 ”It wasn’t like that before.”

”Men evolve into different beings if they don’t see each other for 3 days.”

 ”What’s that?”

Serena said so, her demeanor slightly faltered.

She still seemed uncomfortable, but she no longer had the same guarded look she had when she ran away earlier.

She scanned his whole body with her light blue eyes, then pointed a finger and spoke softly.

 ”Your gear, it’s different.”

”Ah, I went to Châtillon for a bit. Got my weapon fixed.”

”That sword that makes the weird whispering sound, right? Good that your main weapon is fixed.”

 ”Yeah.”

Serena quickly glanced over her shoulder.

The white path in front of the windbreak was quiet, with only a few guards loitering near the archway that led to the square below the salon, where she had come from earlier.

She took a step towards Kian and put on a serious expression.

”Thanks for giving me 2 weeks. It helped me calm down a bit. I’m thinking of putting the hunt for the Death Sword User on hold and paying back my debt to Kian while I build up my strength. Right now, I’m lacking in gear, power, and money.”

”So you’re going to rejoin the party?”

”I’m going to ‘make’ youlet me rejoin. I’ll beg Kian to let me back in as a member. I’ll do any odd jobs, just let me stay with the party.”

”We all take turns with the chores. We won’t dump it all on you. If you have time to focus on carrying luggage or preparing meals, use that time to sharpen your skills instead. I’m sorry if it sounded like I was looking down on you.”

”No, thank you. ──About what Kian said before, s-sexual service, if you ask me to do it, I’m prepared. For revenge.”

 ”――――.”

For a moment, a look of humiliation flashed across the immature Beastmen girl’s face.

He had almost forgotten that most women he fucked lately came quickly, but Serena’s reaction was typical for a r*pe victim.

Being used by a man as a s*x toy leaves an unforgettable stain.

She was ready to sacrifice her dignity for her own skill improvement and revenge.

Another self within him impulsively started preparing for p**is s*x, but he held it back, reminding himself that it was not her turn now.

Kian shook his head side to side with an extremely rational and gentlemanly expression.

”I was wrong back then. I think of you as a beautiful girl, and as a man, I sometimes feel desires rise up. But forcing you into that kind of relationship would be stepping outside the bounds of humanity. ────Serena, you don’t need to pay a sexual price for seeking power. I hope you will follow your own heart, not be humiliated, and stay proud. Once again, I’m counting on you.”

”Kian…! Thanks. I’ll do my best too. I’ll contribute to the party with all my might for the time I was slacking off.”

Serena said this, then stretched her back and extended her right hand.

Kian also extended his right hand to shake hers.

It was the hand he had adjusted his p**is with earlier, but fortunately, there were no pubic hairs on it, which was a relief.

’Didn’t I say before that the price for giving power was to violate? Changed your mind?’

(To be honest, I do want to have s*x with Serena. But I don’t want to violate a Serena who sells herself cheaply; I want to violate a proud, strong Serena. Instead of r*ping her in the dark, I should wait for the right moment. That’s the r*pe path I believe in.)

’I’m a bit confused about what you’re saying.’

(It’s impossible for an inanimate object to understand, after all.)

’Wait, if this one was an organic being, would you have understood?’

 (Probably.)

After shaking hands, Serena took a step back from Kian.

”It seems like you’ve been doing some pretty big jobs these past several days.”

”Yeah. I’m sorry for not contacting you while I was away.”

”No, don’t worry about it. I was just surprised when one day I suddenly got a huge amount of points for doing nothing, that’s all. How about the other members?”

”They’re staying at an inn in town. Actually, a new member joined while you were away. She’s a warrior monk, an old friend of mine named Sarah. She’s staying here at Her Excellency’s guest room today, but we’re planning to meet at the Adventurer’s Guild tomorrow to discuss future activities. I’ll introduce her then.”

”Yeah, I got it. I’m also staying in a guest room loaned by Her Excellency Maribel, so I’ll spend the night here in the North Building. Contact me when I leave tomorrow.”

”Understood. By the way, why are you here in Izerland? Did she summon you because she lent you the guest room?”

 ”Yes.”

Serena places her hands on her hips and continues calmly.

”After I had a fight with Kian and parted ways, I was just going back and forth between the training ground and Ms. Aliona’s workshop. But about 5 days ago, I was suddenly called by Mr. Friedrich, and he asked about Yelmar. Oh, Mr. Friedrich is the Guild leader of East End.”

”I know. He’s the Guild leader, right?”

”Yeah. Yelmar is an old friend of mine. A Wolfman, born into the Silverwooloo branch family, and he’s always been a troublemaker who plays around as he pleases. I’ve heard that after our dads disappeared, he just took the name ‘Storm Herd’ and caused trouble everywhere.”

”I also know about him. Actually, I met him on a quest while I was split from you.”

”Seems so. I only found out when Mr. Friedrich told me. …He and others started worrying if things weren’t going well with Kian.”

Serena’s expression clouds, as if she’s embarrassed.

But she quickly clears her face and continues.

”When I told Guild leader again about Yelmar and what happened when I was left behind with father, I received a letter from Her Excellency Maribel. She wants to talk directly at the fortress.”

”Did you tell them about your friends?”

”No way. I don’t have any information to tell. I just said Yelmar is a troublemaker.”

”But you know about the members of ‘Storm Herd,’ right?”

 ”Kian.”

Serena narrows her light blue eyes.

There was a hint of anger in their tone.

”I don’t know anything. Her Excellency might have asked me, but I’d rather die than sell out a friend. I can tell you about everyone’s food preferences or fashion tastes, though.”

”No, it’s fine. That’s good enough. I’m glad you have a sense of belonging to the ‘Storm Herd’.”

”Of course. I became an Adventurer to bring my brother’s killer’s head back to the ‘Storm Herd’. …My father might not even think of me as one of them anymore.”

 ”What do you mean?”

”I’ve said it before. I was left behind by the group.”

Serena bit her lip, enduring the pain.

”…I’m a female of the herd, but I wanted to fight alongside my father. A ‘Storm Herd’ warrior has to be unmatched. A weakling like me, who was captured by a Death Sword User and used as bait to trap my brother, deserves to be exiled from the herd without complaint.”

”I see… It’s a harsh world where you get kicked out if you’re not strong.”

”Yeah. But I knew that when I decided to become a warrior.”

Serena replied smoothly, but she couldn’t help thinking it was a cruel world.

In the wild, being born weak meant being taken from by siblings and eventually abandoned by one’s parents.

But in the human world, strength isn’t everything, and gaining strength through effort is also valued.

If Serena was really exiled for being weak, Kian felt like telling her dad a thing or 2 as another outcast.

Children should be protected by their parents.

Opportunities for effort and growth should be given equally.

The mood had turned dark, so Kian deliberately spoke in a brighter tone to change the atmosphere.
