I, Lifia, and Kéa, dressed as Santa Claus, walk on the snowy mountain.
Right now, we are exploring the dungeon on the 4th Floor, the Demon-Sucking Snow Mountain.
As the name suggests, it is a harsh environment with a special power that drains magic.
The cold wind stings my cheeks, and the silver world stretches endlessly.
Without the Santa Claus outfit from Love Hotel, I would be freezing right now.
After walking for a while, I found something faintly glowing on the snowfield.
It’s a white flower.
In the pure white snowfield, there is only one flower blooming.
Its transparent leaves made of ice shine softly with petals that look like violets, made of snow.
The sight of it blooming so elegantly feels strangely beautiful.
”Is it Ice Honey Grass?”
”Yes, it seems that way.”
Lifia quietly nodded at my words.
The Ice Honey Grass is said to be a rare plant found only on the 4th Floor of the dungeon.
It grows not in the ground, but in the snow.
The honey that drips from its flower freezes before it hits the ground, becoming transparent balls like jewels.
This ice honey is not only a valuable ingredient for medicine but also known as a very sweet, supreme sweetener.
Looking at the base of the flower, I saw several small spheres like amber marbles rolling on the snow.
Their glittering under the light is a true natural wonder.
”So, this is the ice honey.”
”Is it sweet?”
As I muttered, Kéa excitedly reached out her hand.
”Kéa?”
”Eek!?”
Lifia’s sharp voice echoed, causing Kéa to quickly pull her hand back.
”I-I know! I won’t do anything disrespectful like reaching before Milord!”
I couldn’t help but laugh at Kéa’s flustered excuse.
I picked one of the ice honeys and gently put it in my mouth.
The coolness tickled my tongue and melted in an instant.
At that moment, a rich sweetness spread slowly.
”Oh, this is…”
I was at a loss for words.
More sweet and rich than any fancy honey.
But it’s not just sweet.
It has a deep flavor and a cool feeling like melting snow in the back of your throat.
That perfect balance is just amazing.
The sweetness spreads on my tongue like the joy of spring after a long winter.
I feel a little moved by the taste of nature itself.
This flavor even surprises me──someone used to enjoying love hotel desserts.
It might even taste better than the high-class desserts served in the best room of the love hotel.
”How do you like it?”
Kéa asks eagerly, bringing me back to reality.
”…It’s perfect.”
When I answer briefly, Kéa’s eyes shine even more.
And Lifia also stares at my hand closely.
I pick another piece of frozen honey and hold it out to Lifia.
”Lifia, open your mouth.”
”Eh… y-yes.”
Lifia shyly opens her mouth.
When I gently put the frozen honey in, she gasps and her eyes widen in surprise.
”Mm…! Mmm~!”
She puts her hand on her cheek, making a soft sound of delight.
Lifia looks happy and content.
Her cute expression makes me smile without thinking.
”Ah…”
Meanwhile, Kéa looks at us with a longing look.
”Kéa.”
”Yes!”
I make eye contact with her, teasing her silently as she straightens her posture.
Her impatient face is funny, so I pull her a little more.
”…Milord?”
Finally, Kéa can’t hold back and lets out a weak voice.
She’s like a dog told to wait with treats in front of her.
I pick up the frozen honey and show it to her, thinking it’s about time.
”Here, eat it.”
”Hmph! Om nom!”
As soon as she takes it, Kéa’s eyes shine, and she shows her delight all over.
Seeing her fully enjoy the sweetness makes me smile wryly.
”Is it that good?”
”It’s so delicious! Milord, I want more!”
Though pushed by Kéa’s enthusiasm, I shake my head with a smile.
This frozen honey is hard to store properly.
It melts fast when it’s warm.
And, if it melts, the medicine and sweetness go away.
It can only stay like that in the cold mountains, so it’s hard to take it out of here.
Usually, you need ice magic or a magic tool that keeps things cold to take ice honey to the ground.
Kéa looked sad when she heard that, her shoulders dropped.
”I thought it would be a good souvenir for Elder Sister…”
She was thinking about Tifi.
