Volume 4 Chapter 2 The Inexperienced Hero and the Foreboding of Turmoil
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
At the Love Hotel, I got a report from Tifi, the receptionist at the Adventurer’s Guild.
She said the heroes have come to this Dungeon City.
The heroes──high school kids summoned along with me.
They’re classmates on a school trip, and I was the bus driver.
The bus was driving up a mountain road when suddenly, we get summoned to another world.
They were given powerful skills as “Heroes,” good at fighting or supporting.
But what I got was just one──”Love Hotel.”
Just the name made everyone laugh, look down on me, call me “vulgar,” and kick me out.
I had no choice but to go my own way, became an adventurer, and wound up in this Dungeon City.
But now it seems they also came to Dungeon City.
Soon enough, we’ll be operating in the same dungeon.
I take a deep breath.
If I could, I’d rather not cross paths with them.
I wanna avoid run-ins as much as possible.
My skill’s way too unique.
If they find out, they’ll definitely try to use its convenience.
That’s something I absolutely wanna avoid.
My skill’s mine alone.
It’s not meant to be used by others.
Lucky for me, I mostly live inside the Love Hotel.
Not much time spent wandering the town or streets.
They probably won’t reach my 4th Floor hideout anytime soon, and chances of bumping into them randomly in this huge dungeon are slim.
But I do go out into the town sometimes.
No matter how comfy the Love Hotel is, staying inside forever messes with your head.
Plus, wandering the exotic town streets is one of the thrills of this world.
Basically, the real risk is bumping into them by chance in town.
”I really don’t want to meet those guys…”
As I mutter to myself, Tifi gives a soft smile and answers.
”I’ll keep track of their actions and plans for you.”
”Yeah. Please, do that.”
I gotta respect that quick response.
Tifi is really reliable.
They shouldn’t wander around town when they’re not in the dungeon.
”So, did the heroes head straight into the dungeon as soon as they arrived today?”
”Yeah. ‘Star of the Dawn’ was supposed to guide them, but it looks like they rushed in without waiting.”
It’s the first time in a fantasy world’s dungeon.
I get that urge to step inside right away.
I felt the same.
Especially since they’re still high schoolers.
But starting serious exploration on the first day is pretty unrealistic.
Exploring a dungeon takes preparation and they need to contact their guide, ‘Star of the Dawn.’
Even at the earliest, they won’t start serious exploration until tomorrow at the soonest.
They probably plan to scope things out today.
”About the details of the heroes that arrived…”
Tifi picks up the documents and continues speaking.
”Ten heroes have come to Dungeon City. Six men and 4 women.”
That’s almost everyone.
Well, with 30 people, it’d be hard to move around, so it makes sense.
The castle probably needs to keep some forces back too.
But even if it’s just part of them, we can’t let our guard down.
We need to keep an eye on the heroes when walking around town too.
It’s a hassle, but it can’t be helped.

From the next day, the heroes finally started serious exploration of the dungeon.
As planned, the Gold Rank adventurer party ‘Star of the Dawn’ is leading them.
According to the info Tifi gathered, the heroes are planning to start from the shallow levels and gradually work their way deeper.
Meanwhile, we were continuing to tackle the 4th Floor of the dungeon.
The effect of the Bracelet of Power we found in the last exploration was better than expected.
Equipping it clearly enhanced my attacks.
I can’t crush tough enemies with one hit, though.
Still, it definitely works as a reliable strike now.
Thanks to that, we managed to take down the tough Avalanche Ogre too.
My teamwork with Kéa and Lifia is going smoothly, and the pace of our exploration is good.
At this rate, we might eventually clear the 4th Floor.
I felt that way.
A few days later, I heard from Tifi that the heroes returned from the dungeon.
Apparently, they made it halfway through the 2nd Floor.
Curious about their results, I decided to set up a chance to talk directly with Gaedaf, the leader of the Gold Rank adventurer party, “Star of the Dawn.”
Since he guided the heroes, he should have specific information about their abilities.
I met Gaedaf at a classy bar known for its reputation in Dungeon City.
The thick wooden counter had a rich sheen, and the soft light from the chandelier cast a relaxed vibe over the whole bar.
The bottles lined up on the wall all looked expensive, with some rare brands from another world mixed in.
A faint whiskey aroma further enhanced the sense of luxury.
The drink served couldn’t compare to those from a Love Hotel.
Still, it was good enough to keep me entertained.
I settled into a chair at the counter, my eyes on the amber-colored glass set before me.
Gaedaf was also tilting his own glass.
In this place, I could talk without worrying about prying ears.
”So, how are the heroes doing?”
I had heard some details from Tifi.
But Gaedaf’s opinion, having dived into the dungeon with the heroes, was important.
I definitely wanted to hear it.
When I asked, Gaedaf narrowed his eyes slightly.
”You’re curious, huh?”
”They’re the talk of the town, right? It’s only natural to want to know.”
I wasn’t lying.
However, Gaedaf must have understood that I wasn’t just asking out of mere curiosity.
Still, he didn’t press me further.
That was a relief.
