”…I humbly request your aid. I shall never forget this kindness. I eagerly await the return of Sir Clayd.”
Without even a moment to watch Valentina hesitantly bow her head, I burst out of the house and soared towards Felward Fortress.
The next day, after arriving at Felward, I caught a Dragonewt messenger stationed at the fortress and hurriedly sent him off with a message for Kent about Valentina’s village and the Dorman Barrier.
Then, I too took to the skies, heading towards Lindblum where Dee was.

*Delprius’s Perspective
After the fierce battle at Dragonbone Mountain, I was recovering and relaxing at a manor in Lindblum when suddenly, a figure appeared at the window──it was my father, Clayd.
”Father!? What’s wrong!?”
He must have flown day and night, for his face was weary, but upon seeing mine, he shattered the window and immediately approached.
”Scoundrel! You! Clayd!! Have you no shame, sneaking in again!?”
Rosvita, who had been attending me in the next room, rushed in upon hearing the sound of the breaking window and, upon spotting father, unleashed a beam of light from her mouth.
But father didn’t even try to dodge; he caught Rosvita’s beam in the palm of his hand.
”Rosvita!! I don’t have time to play with you right now! Delprius!! I’m sorry for the rush, but I need you to mobilize the Dragonewts to rescue some people. An urgent messenger should already be flying to Kent from Felward. I’m sorry, but it seems only an emergency transport by the Dragonewts can save them.”
Father rarely showed his panic, but now, he wore the most urgent expression I had ever seen.
”Father, please calm down first. As the representative of the Black Dragon Clan, I cannot simply use the Dragonewts for an emergency transport without Kent’s approval.”
”But there’s no time. If we don’t rescue them, the Margrave South District could face a terrible disaster.”
Rosvita was also holding her breath at the sight of father’s earnest expression.
”Clayd… the South District is facing disaster? Are you sure I can trust someone who just spews nonsense?”
”Damn it! The country’s about to collapse! And if we’re unlucky, the entire Demon Continent could be wiped out! Get the Dragonewts their Instructions, NOW!!”
Even Rosvita flinched at her father’s fury.
It seemed those her father was talking about held some seriously important information.
…How many can we even mobilize right now?.. Everyone’s still recovering from the Dragonbone Mountain expedition…
”Very well. Rosvita, contact Ludmila immediately and gather all the Dragonewts who can still fight. We’ll get Kent’s approval later.”
”Eh!? But… considering the Dragonbone Mountain incident, if you act on your own again, won’t you incur Lord Blackdagger’s displeasure…?”
Rosvita was worried that the Dragonbone Mountain incident might have already displeased Kent.
But abandoning those they could save would likely draw his ire even more.
”Rosvita! Kent would never hesitate to help people! This is an order, as the Black Dragon Clan Leader! Now, tell Ludmila at once!”
He decided to use his authority as the Black Dragon Clan Leader to persuade the hesitant Rosvita.
He had made a huge blunder at Dragonbone Mountain, but if he ignored his father’s words, it could displease Kent, which would ultimately be detrimental to the entire Black Dragon Clan.
”Yes! Understood. I will contact Ludmila immediately and gather the Dragonewts who can be mobilized!”
As Rosvita left the room, her father plopped down heavily onto the sofa.
”Phew, this is a mess. Never meant to drag Dee into this, but this was a case too big for me to handle alone. And if I can rescue those guys, I should be able to give Kent a decent enough reward. That oughta change his tune about Dee.”
Father was supposed to hate Kent, but since he already knew about my numerous encounters with him, he might have reached a point of reluctant acceptance.
Plus, the news from Miriel that I might have a younger brother could have been a factor in softening father’s stance.
”But once this is over, I’m definitely killing that bastard Kent!! For now, I’ll just half-kill him!!”
For a moment, I thought father had forgiven Kent, but it seemed he still hadn’t.
”Father… Kent has become quite strong… and I, along with the other concubines, have each grown in our own strength. Are you sure you want to face us?”
I sighed at father, who still wouldn’t forgive Kent.
”Don’t worry. I’ve been hunting ‘another world monsters’ in the Southern Region hinterlands to the point of nausea, all in the name of training. I won’t go down without a fight!”
My words seemed to only provoke father’s urge to fight even more.
”As your daughter, I’d be grateful if you’d refrain from beating Kent, now that he’s become king. It’d just cause more trouble otherwise.”
”Fine, let him have just a half-killing. After that, I’ll hold back.”
Father showed no sign of yielding to my plea; he was determined to beat Kent.

One of the last raccoon warriors still standing.
