As usual, I wake up early in the morning and spend the whole morning picking apples.
”Is this gonna be okay?”
Mom says it’s dangerous to dress like a boy when I go into the city.
So I asked my mom to help me dress up like a girl.
Yeah, this should be okay… I hope.
I can’t look like, but as long as no one looks at my face too closely, I should be fine.
”Alright, I’m off!”
”Be careful!”
”If anything happens, run to the police!”
I wave goodbye to my worried mom and grandma and head out.
They both wanted to come to the live show with me, but I wanted to walk around like normal, just like one of Aqua-kun’s fans, and go to the live show on my own.
I take the mixed-gender carriage instead of the men-only one to get to the station in Nagano.
After all, what’s the point of dressing up if I don’t?
”Whoa!”
I’m stunned by the urban scenery as I arrive at the Nagano station for the first time.
Amazing.
It’s so different from where I live…
No rice fields.
And because of BERYL’s live show, the station is bustling with stylish big sisters.
”Please do not stop here”
”For safety and to avoid inconvenience to other customers, meeting at the station is prohibited”
”If you wish to greet, please move to the East Exit Park!”
Oh, maybe the BERYL members are coming by Shinkansen too?
With so many people gathered, they must be arriving soon.
I gather my courage and blend in with the other big sisters as I move to the East Exit Park.

Even as a boy, I can’t help but be mesmerized.
”Alright, everyone! For the next 3 days, you all get to breathe the same air as me!!”

Several of the women who’d just inhaled the same air as Aqua-kun went straight into hyperventilation.
But the medical staff ladies who’d been waiting in the park rushed over right away and took care of everything before it got outta hand.
”Whoa, so the Holy Aqua Religion volunteers even do this kind of stuff, huh?”
”Heck, even the park security staff are all believers in Holy Aqua Religion, y’know?”
”I swear, you find bulletin board people and Holy Aqua Religion types everywhere.”
”Those guys are like cockroaches, dude. If you spot one in your line of sight, you better assume there’s at least a hundred more hiding in the same area.”
Honestly, if there’s a hundred in my line of sight, isn’t that, y’know, pretty much everyone…?
Nobody bothers to call it out, so I just make that mental jab to myself.
I leave the park behind and head toward the bus stop.
Okay, so the bus from here goes to that place with a name kinda like “Hogewave,” right?
Alina or whatever.
I get on the bus along with all the other women.
Maybe it’s ’cause my heart already had a workout back on the train, but getting on the bus this time isn’t so nerve-wracking.
I make it to my destination just fine, and hop off the bus.
This is where I really should’ve noticed it.
The fact that a woman who’d already figured out who I am had her eyes locked on me…
”Haa, haa… haaa, haa… We finally get a moment alone together.”
There was still time before the live show, so I’d figured──hey, might as well look around.
Next thing I know, some lady I don’t even know grabs my hand, drags me into a random empty bathroom, no one else around.
First time in my life I’ve ever been attacked by a woman.
What the hell do I do?
I can’t even make a sound.
”Don’t worry, I promise I’ll be nice to you… okay? Okay?”
Every time she steps closer, I edge back, one slow, shaky step at a time.
My back hits the wall and that’s it──I know there’s nowhere left to run.
Man, if I’d known this was gonna happen, maybe I should’ve asked Mom or Grandma to tag along.
Stupid!
Why didn’t I just do that…
”All right, that’s enough. Stop right there!”
”Hey, lady! You know this kinda thing ain’t cool, right?”
”Oi, I don’t care whose fan you are, but you better not be making us BERYL fans look bad!”
”Come on, shove that trashy cooch away already!”
Suddenly, 4 more sisters appeared behind the one who attacked me.
For a moment, the words “gang rape” flashed through my mind, but it looks like these 4 sisters came to help me out.
”Shut up! What the hell is this!! Who the hell are you guys!! Don’t get in the way if you don’t know what’s going on!!”
The sister who attacked me tried to resist, but the 4 sisters easily took her down.
”Who are we?”
”We’ve been banned from the forums for decades,”
”Born on the forums, raised on the forums, we are the forum dwellers.”
”We’re here to take care of things in place of the Verification Team that couldn’t make it!!”
These guys are really into it.
Even though I was just attacked and scared, seeing these 4 sisters made me feel relieved.
”Are you okay? Are you hurt?”
”Sorry. I thought you looked suspicious from afar, I should have spoken up sooner.”
”Don’t worry, we handed that woman over to the security guards properly, so you can relax.”
”For now, go fix yourself up. We’ll be waiting outside, so call us if anything happens.”
There’s the sister who attacked me, and there are also the kind sisters who helped me.
I got a little scared of women for a bit, but I’m glad to know not all of them are like that.
I’ve never been attacked before, so I guess I’ve been lucky.
”Um…”
After fixing myself up, I gathered my courage and called out to the sisters who helped me as I exited the bathroom.
”Thank you for helping me. Also, if it’s okay with you, would you like to talk with me about Aqua-kun and BERYL until the live show starts? I mean… there’s still plenty of time before the live show, and I’ve always wanted a friend to talk about Aqua-kun with, since the only people I could talk to before were my mom and grandma…”

Yes!
Finally, I have friends who can talk about Aqua-kun with me!!
I talked with the sisters right up until the last minute.
It was a really, really enjoyable time.
But, the fun times didn’t end there.
’Here we go. Nagano──────!!’
Seeing BERYL live for the first time was way better than watching on a screen.
It was, like, the best thing ever.
I’m seriously glad I mustered up the courage to come here.
Aqua-kun’s stage, man, it’s like a whole other world.
It’s like he’s inviting me, no, all of us, into a dream.
After the live show, I ended up swapping numbers with some cool chicks, and we all decided to grab some food together.
They were gonna send me home ’cause they were worried about me, but I just had to talk about the live, so I invited them to dinner instead.
Thanks to that, I ended up staying over ’til the next day, but it was totally worth it.
Aqua-kun, everyone in BERYL, seriously, thank you.
And hey, come visit Nagano again!
Next time, I’m not coming alone.
We’re all gonna come together!!
