 *Kent’s Perspective

As soon as word reached me that Yaalan had arrived.

I kicked my slime-squishy legs into gear and rushed the carriage over to the royal palace’s round table room.

Thanks to Shifa’s order that we skip any pointless formalities so we wouldn’t waste time.

The message had already made it around, so I slid right inside without a hitch.

”I’ve been waiting. Now that all the leaders are gathered, I declare the Demon Continent Summit open. First, we’ll have Kent report on the current status of the another world gate──that’s the Abyss Gate. Lord Yaalan, Lady Fabulanova, Lord Nokin. What Kent’s about to say might sound crazy, but it’s the truth, plain and simple. I’ll say it up front: I already decided to support Kent. So please, hear him out with that in mind.”

Shifa──the Demon Lord, ruler of the entire Demon Continent.

Even she had swallowed her pride, bowing her head and asking the other leaders to support Margrave South District.

But the country leaders weren’t budging.

They stayed silent, staring at me with unreadable faces.

…I figured they’d be tough to move, but this is way more cautious than I expected…

 …they’re definitely on guard…

The heads of the 3 other countries hadn’t even seen the situation on the ground themselves.

They looked like they were thinking, if we make a move, we’ll just be forced into someone else’s fight.

Their attitude screamed, not committing to anything just yet.

According to reports from my mother-in-law and Miriel.

The Black Dragon Dukedom and the Eastern Garuda Principality might be moved somehow.

But the biggest problem──Yaalan’s position was still totally unclear.

If he refuses to join the fight.

Even Black Dragon, Garuda, and the True Demon Kingdom will start hesitating.

 If that happens.

Margrave South District will have to take on that other world gate──Abyss Gate──all alone.

They’d have to break through, reach the other world, and seal that gate themselves.

It’s an impossible battle no matter how you look at it.

But we’d have no choice but to send our own people straight into the meat grinder.

 …That’s the one thing.

 That must never happen.

 I made up my mind.

Yaalan glanced at me, eyes half-lidded and doubtful.

I started explaining what was happening at the Abyss Gate, laying it out plain.

”By royal command of His Majesty Shifa, I’ll explain the current status of the Abyss Gate and the surrounding southern region. I’m sending you all live footage now, so please look at the images as I speak.”

The council hall darkened as thick curtains fell.

The room went hushed and black.

The scene from 2 days ago──the Abyss Gate──flickered to life on the screen, captured by a video device.

This was the latest footage, delivered by the Dragonewts rushing day and night between Felward Fortress and Capital City.

 When I first saw this.

 The shock was overwhelming.

”This footage was shot 2 days ago at the Abyss Gate. The Black Dragon Clan risked everything for this. Please, watch closely.”

The scout team made a dangerous run for this footage.

Many Dragonewts got hurt in the process.

Still, I could tell──showing this video to the leaders of each nation.

Was going to shake them to their core.

”Firstly, the production factory built near the Abyss Gate has drastically increased its production ability. If they’re small-sized, it can produce 3 thousand a day; medium-sized, 5 hundred; and for the large ones, it can churn out 50 daily. You can imagine, as the daily output increases, the threat level skyrockets if we delay our response. It’s already been 14 days since the barrier shattered, and I want you to understand the gravity of this situation.”

The leaders of various nations let out sighs as they watched the vast ‘another world monster’ production factory displayed on the video camera.

”Moreover, a new type of ‘another world monster’ has been deployed around this factory, ready to defend against our airstrikes. As you can see in the footage, these monsters shoot magical bullets, creating an intense barrage that makes approaching a real challenge.”

The screen showed Dragonewts dodging the attacks of flying ‘another world monsters,’ diving to strike the factory on the ground. From below, a relentless stream of purple magical bullets was fired, preventing any approach.

”Furthermore, as soon as the small-sized and medium-sized ‘another world monsters’ are produced, they swarm our key stronghold, Felward Fortress. Currently, the Monster Hunters and the Margrave South District army are at the forefront of repelling them, but the sheer number is overwhelming, leaving us unable to go on the offensive.”

The scene shifts to Felward Fortress. The camera atop the tallest spire captures this──waves of ‘another world monsters’ covering the land so thick, you can’t see the ground.

The bravest Monster Hunters are fighting outside the walls. Out there, Iska of Rootless Weed takes down more monsters than anyone──nobody even comes close. Next up, there’s me──after lifting the seal on forbidden magic, Feria and Ines follow my lead.

With Divine Magic unleashed, we’re burning through the enemy ranks too, or so the reports say.

I hear even more battle-hardened Monster Hunters have gathered at Felward, showing off their skills. But the reports say everyone’s getting tired──the attacks just won’t stop, day or night. Fatigue is clinging to them all, little by little.
