Volume 3 Chapter 105 The Opening Of The Erotic Gear That Only I Can See
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
Count Cain’s spell sounded like some ancient language, probably used in the ‘Empire of Night.’
No idea what it meant.
But if the words sounded the same, the magic seal on the hallway coffins should break.
’Glasses’ warned that messing up would trigger a trap.
But with good memory and a sharp ear, he figured he’d be fine.
He stood before the first coffin in the round chamber and chanted Count Cain’s spell.
The emblem on the coffin lid glowed red, then melted away into dust.
All that remained was an open, empty coffin.
’Dispel complete.’
”So that’s it?”
’You really can do anything, huh.’
”Not really. Just average.”
’If Lady Sarah were here, she would’ve failed for sure.’
”She’s got no ear for music.”
The vampire language sounded almost musical.
Even mimicking unfamiliar words demanded some natural talent.
”That’s kind of cute about her.”
’Was that supposed to be flirting?’
’Glasses’ sounded a little sulky just then.
Sometimes, ‘Glasses’ called Kian “this one’s Knight,” and always pretended to sleep when he hooked up with a girl.
She might be a real softie at heart, almost annoyingly sentimental when it came to love.
’Don’t be ridiculous. No matter what sort of pervy stuff you get up to, I don’t care at all!’
”I’m not a pervert. …Right out of the gate, huh.”
Kian scraped away the dust inside the coffin, working hard until he managed to pull out a jet-black frock coat.
The coat felt silky even through the Silver Ice gloves, so smooth he wondered if the sensation could pass right through them, shining and deep-black.
It was all neatly folded──the first light armor he’d longed for ever since Oswald burned his last one.
”‘Nightshade’ set. Apparently standard travel gear in the Empire of Night, so it actually shows up a lot if you explore enough ruins.”
Kian brushed gray grains of dust off the coat and unfolded it with care.
The coat was a bit too big for any regular person to wear.
Most likely, the gear had been made for Burgkain.
For Kian, now built like a tank, the size fit just right.
(I felt a stroke of luck. Honestly, it was a huge relief.)
Once he got back to the village, it would finally be time to start the mission to rescue Rean and Vestacia.
There was no way he could wear the noisy ‘Silver Ice’ armor for an infiltration mission, so if he hadn’t found ‘Nightshade’ here, Kian would’ve ended up sneaking around in nothing but his undershirt and shorts.
He also couldn’t bring the Windsong Blade, with all the noise it made──coming full circle, his loadout was right back to what it had been when he first met ‘glasses’: weakest Kian, all over again.
He couldn’t help feeling a cold knot of anxiety tighten in his gut.
”No weapons in there?”
’You really think Burgkain would use a weapon?’
”Right, fangs and claws──she’s got those. But me? I’ve got nothing.”
If he’d honed his vampire skills, maybe he could’ve grown claws or turned them into weapons.
But he hadn’t trained that path at all.
There was no way a crash course would help him now, so he had to scrounge up some regular, silent weapons instead.
Well, the next job was, in theory, a no-combat mission, so power wasn’t the main issue.
Besides, Sarah was probably joining the infiltration team.
If someone had to kill, she could handle it.
She’d been armed with the mithril saber they bought in Châtillon.
”Alright, what’s in the next coffin…”
He started chanting the spell.
Once again, the lid fell apart into sand, breaking the seal.
Kian shoved his hand into the sand-filled coffin, and his fingers brushed against something metallic.
”Oh? What’s this?”
He pulled out whatever was inside.
What he found──gleaming white, simple, beautiful──was a set of light armor.
The piece Kian lifted looked like a breastplate for protection.
Inside the coffin, there were also gauntlets and chest guards and a waist piece.
Heart pounding, he brushed the sand off the rest, then laid everything out, neat and careful, on the cold stone.
”Women’s armor, huh.”
The breastplate: white, trimmed with a line of red.
Long cloth armor for the hands.
And a miniskirt-like piece that barely covered the waist──just enough protection.
This one was colored a deep red.
The final piece of her outfit was white socks paired with brown boots.
Her chest armor was comically swollen around the bust, leaving her collarbone and neck completely unprotected.
It looked like a playful suit of armor a princess might have made to dress up as a knight for fun.
’What do you mean, playful? This is a ‘Princess Knight’ set made by a famous armorer.’
”‘Princess Knight’ set? Is it really that amazing?”
’Even 3 sets of ‘Silver Ice’ wouldn’t cover the cost of this.’
”Don’t talk about the price, tell me about its performance.”
The ‘glasses’ in his pocket started talking in a dreamy tone.
’It has high physical and magic defense, and it helps with combat calculations and magic processing. It’s made with an abundance of spirit stones and generously uses the rare Demi-Gaiz fur and leather. The red parts are crystallized ancient dragon blood. The entire decoration is made of secret runes that activate recorded magic instantly when magic power flows through them.’
”But it’s a miniskirt and boob armor… If I wore this…”
Kian imagined himself wearing the ‘Princess Knight’ set.
His muscular physique bulged out from the chest armor, and his thighs were tight and muscular.
Every time he jumped, the miniskirt revealed the sturdy thighs beneath, and the panties inside would flash with each bounce.
It was a deadly appearance in its own way.
’It was originally supposed to be worn by that mannequin over there.’
”Huh…”
Kian turned around and stared at the closed coffin.
Inside was a blonde loli beauty dressed in a white boob armor and a red miniskirt…?
With each bounce, her panties would flutter, and when she wielded a sword, her sweaty armpits would be shamelessly exposed.
It was a criminal outfit.
Whoever made this must be a pervert for sure.
”‘glasses’, are you the type to deal with underarm hair?”
’I’ve never had any, so I wouldn’t know.’
”Damn it! I see, I see.”
’What’s wrong? Your emotions seem unstable.’
”Sorry, that was out of line.”
’No, that was just like you.’
’glasses’ continued.
’The red cloth at the waist was woven with strands from a spirit’s hair. If the wearer focused, they could fly at will. Like the “Silver Ice” gear, it could freeze things or blast out waves of heat. With enough magic power, it could call up storms or strike enemies with lightning. For close combat, it had enchantments that massively boosted speed and strength. Even if the armor broke, it would restore itself if given blood and flesh to feed on. Dirt and grime? The armor just sucked those up and broke them down, keeping everything spotless and comfortable forever.’
”Isn’t this thing kinda insane?”
The gear made it obvious just how much Count Cain cared for Talia.
He hadn’t held back at all──this was top of the line, built just for his daughter.
’Also, the size would automatically change as the flesh doll grew.’
”Custom-made, huh? You’re the only one who could even wear it.”
If anyone was thinking of selling it, the subtext was clear──switch it out for something like ‘Nightshade’ if you’re just after money.
The Sage seemed to be saying that without words.
This wasn’t just super high-performance gear.
It was Count Cain’s love, shaped into reality.
(Would it fit Serena? But if Serena wore armor this fancy, wouldn’t every thief in town come after her?)
’The flesh doll’s got a smaller butt than that girl. The chest would be tight, too, and there’s nowhere for a tail. You’d end up wearing the skirt half-off your backside.’
”Maybe just keep it for when you finally wake up. Flying gear like this would be handy…”
’But if you don’t train, you’ll crash and die. Can’t handle it right, makes you an easy target for magic, too.’
”Hold on, let’s flip the idea. Who says waist gear has to go on your waist? You could wear it like a shampoo hat, right on your head…”
’You wouldn’t be able to see through the skirt fabric.’
”Then just pull it down to the base of your neck.”
’That’d look ridiculous.’
”Wait, no, that’s a bad idea. If the skirt flaps up when you’re flying, you’d choke yourself to death. My neck muscles could probably hold out, but my airway? That’d get blocked for sure.”
No matter how much they thought it over, they couldn’t come up with a spot on the body that could wear it safely and balance it out.
Seemed like the full ‘Princess Knight’ set was way ahead of anything Kian’s party could handle right now.
(It was clear that the ‘glasses’ would stay stored until she finally got a real body.)
Kian put the full ‘Princess Knight’ set back into its casket, then turned to start opening the next one.
His chest buzzed with curiosity──what gear would appear this time?
But all that came out of the sand was a plain, boring chainmail.
That was it. Just chainmail.
Dull silver. Chains clinked down from the helmet and chest piece, nothing special. Nothing new.
With ‘Nightshade’ and then the ‘Princess Knight’ right before, he’d expected maybe something called ‘Silver Ice’ now.
But seeing this… it was impossible not to feel let down.
