The first to stand at the podium was Kent, who was in charge of the operation.
”Brave warriors who have gathered to protect this continent from the ‘another world monsters’! The time has finally come! Our army, led by King Nokin, has succeeded in defeating over 40 thousand enemies at the Feyn River, and the airborne division under Delprius has destroyed the flying ‘another world monsters’ and defeated the enemies along the advance route to the ‘another world gate’ (Abyss Gate). With this, the conditions for the ‘Abyss Gate Operation’ are now in place. Are you ready to make history in this grand war? If we win this battle and survive, you will be the heroes who saved the world! You’ll be admired by children, asked out by young men and women, and hailed as a Hero when you return to your country! Kent was still speaking in his usual way, addressing the gathered soldiers. Despite being a king, he looked no different from a regular young man aiming to be a hero. Laughter could be heard from all around, as many struggled to hold it in.
”Some of you are laughing, but remember, once we win and come back, that will undoubtedly be the reality. And when you’re attacked by the ‘another world monsters,’ when your sword breaks, and you’re exhausted, feeling like you can’t go on──remember this! That’s when you’ll find the will to keep fighting! It doesn’t matter if you’re clumsy or anything else! You live, and you fight until the end. The one thing I want to tell you all is this: ‘You must survive and win this war!’ I don’t want to die either! I’m coming back alive to cuddle with my wife!”
Kent’s speech sent the soldiers into roaring laughter, and the tension that had been hanging in the air instantly disappeared, as if they were casually heading out to hunt some nearby monsters.
…Coming back alive and cuddling with Kent, huh… Ugh, that’s probably going to last until morning… I wonder if my body will last that long…
Thanks to Kent’s speech that ruined all the earlier tension, my thoughts had already shifted to what would happen after we won and returned. The podium was now empty, and it was Shifa, the Demon Lord, who had taken Kent’s place.
”Margrave South District King Kent, that’s very true. I also have a few cute wives waiting at home, so I have no intention of dying. I’ll live, survive, and defeat the ‘another world monster,’ then return to the Capital City where my wives are waiting. Wives, I swear on the heavens, if a husband doesn’t come back alive, I will personally introduce every single one of you. I will absolutely come back victorious!!”

Kent was still Kent, but even the Demon Lord was still a Demon Lord. It seems Shifa has also been corrupted by Kent. The faces of the nobles on the stage in Capital City twisted in looks of bitter resentment.
…Heh heh, just like Kent’s younger brother. It seems he’s been influenced quite a bit.
Thanks to Shifa’s speech, the soldiers were fired up, shouting cheers and boosting morale.
”Alright!! From now on, we launch the ‘another world gate (Abyss Gate) assault operation’! Everyone, with this victory, we will make history and be ridiculously happy!!”
”Your Majesty Shifa, that’s my line.”
”This time, let me take the lead. I want to let loose for once too.”
”No, no, for Your Majesty to loosen up at this point…”
”No, I won’t back down on this. Guys! Get ready for battle! We’re going to teach those mechanical creatures who rules this land!”

Kent and Shifa argued on the stage, but since Shifa declared the order to deploy, the Monster Hunters heading out in front had already started walking towards the fortress gates.
”Somehow, it’s a bit awkward, isn’t it? Well, thanks to Kent and Your Majesty giving those kind of loose speeches, the soldiers’ tension is just right. If they planned it that way, it’s impressive ── but both of them seem pretty natural.”
”Yeah, that’s right. Maybe Kent and Shifa are just like each other.”
”No doubt. I’ll come back alive too, Renge and… Ugh…!”
Renge’s ladle slammed into Heta’s head with a CRACK as he walked towards the gate. She was blushing furiously as she looked at the person who threw it.
…Renge is cute. Maybe I’ll make her my wife…
Surprised by the unexpected power of her ladle, Renge rushes to help the fallen Heta.
”Sorry, I misjudged the power! B-But, anyway… you better come back alive, okay?”
”I know.”
Those 2 seem to like each other, so sadly, the ‘Renge-as-wife plan’ is over. I heard from Rosalinda that some Rootless Weed members are making money now, and some are thinking of getting married, so it makes me happy that families are growing.
…For Renge and Heta, for Rosalinda and me, and for all of Rootless Weed… we absolutely cannot lose this battle… we absolutely must win!!
As I made my decision to win, the pain from the monster’s mana that was rampaging in my body lessened a bit.
