Volume 4 Chapter 62 Blueprint Of A New Weapon

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

This is inside a motel created by the skill ‘Love Hotel.’ It’s the ship’s dock.

The white lighting, the spotless metal-like floor and walls, resemble a research facility. It’s an inorganic, artificial space.

Occupying this space is a pirate ship on a pedestal in the center. It’s currently being repaired.

We had taken refuge here after the battle with the Sea Serpent.

Now, my companions are resting in various ways inside the Love Hotel room. The battle was fierce. I want them to rest slowly.

And now, I am looking up at the ship being repaired.

A faint light envelops the ship, and the damage is gradually sealed.

The ship sustained minor damage from the forceful steering and repeated evasions. Fortunately, the Sea Serpent’s breath did not hit directly. The damage is relatively light, and the repairs should be complete in about an hour.

”The Guardian was an incredibly tough enemy, wasn’t it?”

Tifi, standing next to me, speaks up.

She seems to have watched our battle through the ‘Love Hotel’s’ external monitoring function. Her expression shows surprise and a bit of unease.

”Once the ship is fixed, you plan to challenge it again, right?”

 I nod.

 ”Yeah.”

 ”Do we need to fight?”

 The need to fight.

Her worried words make me fall silent and think for a moment.

If I have to say whether it exists or not, it doesn’t.

We have become much stronger than before.

The skill ‘Love Hotel’ has evolved, and various facilities and support functions are in place. Heroes and the kingdom are no longer threats to us now.

The reason to explore the dungeon is, to be honest, fading.

It’s hard to find meaning in challenging the depths when thought about calmly.

Still, I can’t stop. It might just be my hobby. The words “dungeon” and “uncharted territory” have a charm. They tickle my intellectual curiosity and sense of adventure.

But of course, it’s not just for such a light reason.

I look at Tifi and answer quietly.

”Maybe there’s no need. But I’d like to continue if possible. It’s insurance.”

 ”Insurance, you say?”

 Tifi tilts her head.

 ”For example…”

What if the heroes grow stronger and unite fully with the kingdom in the future?

That could become a real threat.

Or conversely, what if the kingdom gives up on the current heroes and summons new ones?

The last hero was summoned about a hundred years ago. It’s not something called easily.

I want to think it’s a one-time ritual, but I have no proof.

If they do it, a new hero will appear.

The ‘true hero’ might also be summoned.

If so, the true hero would possess strength like mine.

Will the next hero summon happen? Will the true hero appear? Will he oppose me?

All are just possibilities. The chances are very low.

 But they are not zero.

If I enjoy the current peace without acting, I might not be able to respond when threats appear.

That’s why I want to keep gathering strength.

Exploring dungeons is part of that.

I want to keep honing my power. I want to continue exploring dungeons.

 I explained that.

”I see… if that’s the reason, I cannot oppose it.”

”Of course, safety first. I won’t push too hard.”

 ”It’s a promise, okay?”

Tifi’s sunset-colored eyes look at me.

I choose my words carefully to reassure her.

”Next, we’ll only try when we are absolutely ready to win.”

I do not want to die just for fun. Dying as insurance would be pointless.

And I cannot risk my wife and others. I cannot die leaving Tifi behind.

 ”Then that’s fine…”

Tifi speaks with a slightly uncertain voice.

I gently pull her close and kiss her softly.

”Mmm, you always try to hide it just like that… nnm, mmh!”

For a while, I swirl my tongue in Tifi’s mouth, squeeze her butt, and calm her feelings.

After enjoying her body, I look up at the ship again.

Even if it’s confirmed that I’ll challenge the Sea Serpent in the future, what should I do specifically?

Yomi’s light magic worked, but the second shot was countered. Lifia and Rozmiaque’s magic doesn’t reach it. And I don’t have confidence in the power of my gun.

How do we face that Guardian? That breath was a threat. We cannot just take it head-on with this ship. And we cannot win by just running around.

As I thought about this, a sailor Brownie came up to me.

 ”What’s wrong?”

No reply. Only a small hand tugging at the hem of my pants.

It seems they cannot speak. Lifia and Rozmiaque, who could interpret, are in another room now.

Tifi crouched down and met the Brownie’s gaze.

”Do you want to follow me?”

 The Brownie nodded vigorously.

Led by the Brownie, I moved to the side of the ship. The Brownie pointed silently at a part of the outer wall. It just looked like an ordinary section of the ship’s exterior.

 What is it?

As I tilted my head, the wall opened with a click. Another Brownie poked out their head and waved their small hand at me.

Was there such a gimmick? But what is this window for?

As I looked, the Brownie in the window assumed a gun pose. Pointing outward, as if to shoot.

 ”Can we shoot from there?”

I have a gun that the skeleton captain dropped when we captured this ship. Is that what we should use?

But the Brownie shook their head. It seems not.

Then the Brownie at my feet took out paper and began to draw something smoothly with a small pencil.

Drawn was a deformed ship and Brownies riding it. And on the side of the ship’s window…

 ”Ah, a cannon?”

The picture showed the ship’s side firing a cannon.

As I muttered, the Brownie puffed out their chest and nodded proudly.

I see. That little window seems to be a hatch for the cannon’s barrel.

Come to think of it, this ship was originally a pirate ship led by the skeleton captain. It’s not surprising to have combat equipment.

In other words, they are suggesting that we equip this ship with cannons and fight the enemy.
