Classes ended, and people slowly left the classroom. Haruto watched blankly as one person after another departed.
(Was high school always this boring?)
In Haruto’s previous life, he remembered high school being more fun than middle school, and university was even more enjoyable. Haruto had looked forward to entering high school, but it wasn’t turning out to be very fun.
The reason was clear: Haruto had few friends. This high school was a competitive academic institution, and during breaks, students rarely left their seats except to go to the bathroom.
Those who didn’t understand the lesson would quickly fall behind, so everyone was either asking teachers or classmates for help, preparing for the next lesson, or reviewing the previous one. There was little opportunity to socialize. Especially since Haruto had entered school early, he had no classmates his age.
Another decisive reason was Haruto’s experience from his previous life. He had stayed in touch with university friends after graduation but had almost no contact with middle or high school friends. Because of that, he saw no need to actively make friends now.

Haruto wasn’t in any club activities. This high school promoted both academics and sports, but participation wasn’t mandatory.

Volleyball and basketball were separated by gender, so even if he joined, he could only watch.

Haruto walked toward where the swimming club was likely practicing. He spotted a pair of girls in his view.
(Oh! Is that a hakama?)
As he got closer, he saw they were wearing a pure white jacket and a black hakama. It was definitely the hakama he knew.

The gaps on the left and right sides of the hakama are called “momodachi” (股立). These gaps allow hands to reach the underwear, making them naughty gaps.
If you stare at such gaps, the other person will notice. Someone approached Haruto.
”Uh, um, what is it?”
”Oh, um, can I watch the club activities?”
”Ah! You want to observe? Please come this way.”
Haruto had no intention of observing.
He followed the girl, thinking, “Well, it’s fine!” because of the words he had spoken to misrepresent the situation.
’Do you have any experience with archery?’
”No, I have none at all.”
Haruto learned that it was an archery club only after being told. He entered through the guided entrance and saw 6 people in traditional attire, standing and shooting arrows.

Haruto said he had no experience, but he actually had a little bit in his past life. Archery has two types: “kinteki” (近的), where the target is closer, and “enteki” (遠的), where the target is farther away.
What he was seeing now was “enteki,” with the target 60 meters away.
(Traditional hakama looks so good on women!)
’Please sit here to observe.’
”Thank you.”
A few people were already sitting, all in seiza (正座). Haruto decided to sit the same way, even though he wasn’t used to it.

(That person’s posture is incredibly beautiful.)
In archery, there’s no sight to aim with. Essentially, if you shoot with the same posture and force, the arrow will fly to the same spot. So, standing position and posture are crucial.
(You’re forgetting about zanshin (残心)!)
Looking toward the voice, Haruto saw the auntie teacher giving a lesson on shooting technique. Shooting technique refers to the entire sequence of actions from standing to releasing the arrow, each step with its own name—quite hard to memorize.
(Could that person possibly be…?)
Among the 6 archers, one girl wasn’t hitting the target at all. Haruto, watching from behind, decided to observe her a little more.
