In March, the Ichijou family threw a party for Haruto and Akane passing their exams.
It was also a good chance for Yui, Akane’s mom, and Haruto’s parents to meet.
Akane’s dad, Shuichi, couldn’t come because of work.
He didn’t even know about the party.
”Now I’ll finally be Akane’s classmate!”
”Hehe, thanks, Haruto.”
He remembers deciding to skip grades to be Akane’s classmate in middle school.
Thanks to the smarts God gave him, he skipped two grades and got into university. He’s really grateful.
”By the way, Haruto-kun, you said no specialty, but if you had to pick one, what would it be?”
Specialties are different levels of hard.
Neurosurgery is the toughest, and general medicine is the easiest.
”Hmmm, maybe physical rehab?”
Haruto really wants to be an obstetrician.
He’s always liked women, in this life and the last. It’s just how he is.
”What about Akane?”
”Hmmm, Mama’s a pediatrician, so maybe I’ll be an obstetrician too?”
(Akane’s dad’s an internist, so having an internist, pediatrician, and obstetrician, with a massage shop next door, sounds fun!)
If Haruto opened a massage shop, only people wanting massages would come.
But if there’s a hospital nearby, and they spread rumors, more people might visit.
(But in reality, it’s not possible with Akane’s dad.)
Haruto doesn’t know, but if he promises to hug Yui in front of him and make him quiet, he might agree…
”Haru-kun, come back during long breaks~”
”If anything happens, tell your parents right away!”
”I’ll come back, and I’ll tell you if anything happens. It’s fine.”
Chiba University is 4 to 5 hours away by highway, so commuting is impossible.
Haruto and Akane rent separate rooms to live alone.
Akane and Yui wanted to share an apartment with Haruto, but there were no 2-room places nearby.
They ended up in an apartment a 25-minute walk away.
Haruto thinks it’s fine.
From his past life, he knows it’s better not to be too close while dating. Wanting to see each other but not being able to makes the relationship last.
Plus, university life should be fun. Akane might break up with Haruto and date someone else, and Haruto might like someone new.
If that happens, sharing an apartment would be hard.
”Akane will come back too.”
”Yeah! She’ll come back with Haruto, so it’s okay!”
Right now, neither Haruto nor Akane wants to break up.
They’re just thinking about the possibility, based on Haruto’s past life, in the back of their minds.
