”But this way will take some time. Since it’s October now… Oh right, the contract for transferring shares will likely be officially done around the end of the fiscal year. In this case, Oto-san’s return to acting is expected to be for a movie coming out in summer. We’ve already talked about it with the producer and put it on hold.”
When it comes to Beryl, auditions aren’t the problem anymore… Or maybe, they’re expecting a lot from me?

I thought Beryl, focusing on its talents above all, was typical of them. But I never thought about rejecting. Right now, anything is fine──I just want to return as an actress.

Still, do these proposals help Beryl at all? A lot of money was listed in the documents for buying the agency, my transfer fee, and contract cancellation fee. I don’t think I can pay that back now.
”The last proposal is similar, where Oto Rurika-san stays with your company as a personal talent, and we sign an agency contract with her as an actress.”
Speaking of agency contracts, Morikawa Kaede-san from the national broadcaster is said to have the same deal. But I think that was a special arrangement for Morikawa-san to appear on other TV stations as a Beryl exclusive announcer.
Morikawa-san is probably good for Beryl, but honestly, since I’m not involved in Beryl’s work at all, there’s not much benefit in contracting with me. After thinking for a moment, I slowly speak up.

”I make the decisions in our company, but Beryl Entertainment exists for Shirogane Aqua alone. The first trigger was when Aqua-sama personally talked to us about Oto-san’s situation. Why Aqua-sama? Sure, I was involved during the Heaven’s Sword filming, but even though we’re in the same school and industry, that’s about it.

So… that’s it. When talented people like Aqua-sama and Kohina Yukari-san praise me, I really feel happy.
”Beyond Production is probably considering an offer to Oto-san because Yukari talked to them after hearing from Aqua-kun. The president there likes Aqua-kun, and me and Yukari too. Or rather, is it more accurate to say she’s being pressured or manipulated…?”
President Atori also smiles, showing she’s building a good relationship with Beyond Production.
”If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. From now on, it’s off the record, and I’ll answer sincerely within what I can.”

Cool. I really thought she was amazing as a person, an adult, and a woman. Yes, just like Aqua-sama when she was an idol, President Atori is full of confidence. I think everyone admires her when they see her like that.
”Well then, I’ll take my leave. Please think it over. If there’s something you don’t understand, feel free to ask me or Kirika Kotono. Thank you for your time today. I look forward to meeting again. Oto-san and the president, even though it’s a tough time now, do your best. Oh, and I heard from Aqua-kun that it’s busy because of the cultural festival, so even if you’re going to decide, it’s fine to do it after the festival.”
With that, President Atori left calmly. When I was stunned, the president next to me turned to face me.
”Oto-san, I’m sorry. If I had more power, I might have been able to do something about this mess…”
”President, please don’t apologize. I was happy to know you were working so hard. And yet, I went straight to negotiate without knowing anything…”
The president placed her palm over the back of my hand. If I look closely, the president had tears in her eyes.
”It’s okay. Oto-san, you are an actress, and I understand the feeling of wanting to negotiate directly. Rather, it’s because of my lack of power and slow decisions that we were pushed into this situation.”
”No, even so, I was able to come this far because of the president…”
The president smiled on a face that looked like she was about to cry. I see, I’m not the only one who feels regretful.
If I had more power, maybe I could have prevented the president from making that face. I clenched my fist tightly.
”Thank you. I’m happy just to hear you say that, Oto-san. Now, let’s think carefully about what to do next, as President Atori suggested, after hearing from everyone.”
”Yes!”
I’ll become the world’s greatest actress so that something like this never happens again. Even if such a situation arises, I want to become an actress so amazing that I can brush it aside.
