”You’re here, Yuuta. Everything’s ready. Let’s begin.”
Mr. Stanford said as he tossed the tip of the mana probe into the gate. Sheena then guided Ms. Claudel to the chair placed beside her.
”Well, Claudel, sit here. Hold this and send in a lot of mana.”
”Send in mana? How do I do that?”
”Huh!? You’re an Elf, right? Why can’t you send in mana?”
”I mean… I can use mana, but sending it in…”
Listening to Sheena and Ms. Claudel’s conversation, Dr. Mathius, who had been observing the measuring devices from a distance, suddenly stepped in.
”Hey, are you two going to argue about this now!?”
”Well… I thought any Elf could do it…”
Sheena said apologetically.
I see. Assumptions can be misleading. But I can’t let this slide. This is a valuable chance. Without hesitation, I called out to them.
”Calm down, both of you. The gate’s still here. Let’s think clearly.”
”Right… I’ll try different things too, so Sheena, let me know if it looks good to measure.”
”Understood…”
”Um, can I say something?”
Mr. Stanford interrupted.
”When I watched those people in that world, they turned electricity into mana. While chanting, the mage sent it into the measuring tool.”
”I see! That’s it. If it’s mana transfer, maybe it can be sent in.”
Ms. Claudel suddenly exclaimed.
”Mana transfer?”
I asked, and Ms. Claudel replied.
”Yes. By putting mana into a specific magic tool, it works for a while. It’s used for lighting and such. But the amount sent depends on the device…”
”Alright, I’ll measure, so let’s start with a small amount and increase gradually.”
Sheena said urgently.
”Agreed. Even if it fails now, it’ll help next time.”
Dr. Mathius nodded.
”Let’s start again. We’ll test the amount to send!”
”Got it!!”
Everyone responded to my call.

”Next, let’s increase it by 20 percent from last time…”
”Understood. Begin, Claudel.”
Ms. Claudel slowly increased the mana sent into the probe, while Sheena tracked its reactions with a measuring instrument. Dr. Mathius, the staff, and Mr. Stanford focused on their tasks. I had nothing to do, so I watched alongside Mr. George, holding the potted rubber tree, ready to jump into the gate at any moment.
”Alright, increase it by 20 percent again!”
”Here we go!”
”…Reaction detected! But it’s weak. Claudel, increase it by 50 percent!”
”…Understood… but, Sheena, the stored mana looks unreliable~.”
”What!?”
Sheena had calculated the mana needed for the probe, and Ms. Claudel had prepared it, but earlier trials used more mana than expected.
”Ugh. Even if the probe moves, calculations take time… Yuuta, this is an emergency. Use Sheena No. 6 on Claudel!!”
”What!? Here, in front of everyone!?”
”Don’t argue! You want to see your wife and kids, right!? I want to see my sister too!”
Sheena cried.
”Darling, I don’t mind… at all.” Ms. Claudel shouted.
Mr. George patted my shoulder lightly.
”Mr. Yuuta, if you’re a man, act now.”
I saw Dr. Mathius and the staff watching me, expecting action.
”Alright! I’ll do it. Ms. Claudel, I’ll love you with all my might.”
Clap clap clap… Applause erupted around us.
