Chapter 118 Changes In The Massage Research Club

Since that day, Sanpei-sensei seemed scared to turn her back on Haruto.
Now, she only gave massages to girls.
Haruto felt a little sad—but also relieved.
Thanks to that, he could focus on teaching while still joining the girls’ massage practice.

Some were new students who believed the rumor and came just for that.

Haruto and Akane never saw this coming.

The school said they could only keep it if they split the club by gender.
”Will we get another clubroom?”

Of course, if they split by gender, Haruto would be with the boys.
And since Haruto and Akane were the club leaders, Haruto had to lead the boys’ group.
He couldn’t say no just because he didn’t like it.
The twelve original members got together and had an emergency meeting.
In the end, they agreed to try the gender split for one year.
Haruto made a new schedule and gave it to the school.
The club’s temporary approval was extended.

Sigh. “Finally… zero people.”
The boys started quitting right after they heard the club was being split.
One after another, they left.
Some stayed behind, hoping things would change.
But little by little, they stopped showing up.
Now, not even one came.
But the girls’ side…
”Three today, huh? It went down again.”
”Y-yeah… it’s less.”
”Well, more space now, right?”
”Y-yeah, that’s true. It was crowded…”
Only four girls remained.
Akane. Kono-senpai, who was one year older.
And two girls Haruto had once called “plain beauties.”
That was it.
Many of the girls had joined just to learn how to get pretty.
In just a few months, they had learned most of the massage techniques.
And once they reached their goal, the rest of them changed.
The seven original girls had become beautiful.
Boys started to talk to them more.
Some got boyfriends.
Some started flirting and playing around.
And they stopped coming.
Girls who have always been pretty usually get used to the attention.
But girls who suddenly become pretty sometimes lose control.
It’s like when someone wins the lottery and becomes rich overnight.
Or when a new star becomes famous and gets full of themselves.
When people gain something too easily, they need to stop and think.
That kind of change can make you forget who you were before.

• Sanpei-sensei – Sanpei Maiko. A lecturer at the university and a surprisingly willing faculty advisor for the newly formed massage research club. Known for her beauty and popularity among students, Sanpei-sensei’s support was crucial in getting the club off the ground, despite Haruto’s initial skepticism about finding a faculty advisor. Her involvement adds an unexpected twist to the club’s creation.
• Kono-senpai – A second-year economics student who struggles with deep mental health issues. She feels guilty for past actions toward Haruto and Akane but is gradually welcomed into their circle. The one being blackmailed by Ryuichi.
