”But I’m not asking for a real plan right now.”

”Then… what is it you want?”

”I want to share this moment. When you came back here, didn’t you say that too?”

Linca placed both her hands on his shoulders and gently but firmly sat him down on the bed.

In front of him was her toned figure. Her lower stomach was flat, yet soft and warm. It had both strength and grace.

”Tell me how you felt. You were sent away from your hometown by Sarah, the person you promised your future to. Your engagement ended, and everyone believed she belonged to Jibril. You knew that too, didn’t you?”

”Yeah. I even being told by Sarah at the port… something like ‘I belong to Jibril.’”

 ”Really?”

”She did. But she corrected herself later and said it weren’t how she really felt.”

Her fingers squeezed his shoulder a little harder.

”Isn’t that just something shesaid to make you feel better? That’s awful. You lived for 15 years thinking your fiancée was being taken from you, right?”

”Yeah. I wanted to do well and bring her back, but I stayed at the bottom. After a while, I figured she was married already… maybe even had kids.”

 ”I get it.”

Linca gently sat down on Kian’s lap.

Her legs were soft, and her body felt warm. She wasn’t heavy, but he could feel her resting there.

Even in the dim light, he could see her clearly. Her black hair, pale skin, and quiet face made her seem like she was glowing.

”I was left behind by Sir Jibril too.”

 ”Linca…”

”I lost my home. Just like you did.”

”You don’t have to worry. I’ll look after you. We’re in a cave now, but I’ll save money and build a real home someday.”

”Is it really okay to say something like that so easily, Sir Kian? Don’t you see? I’m still hurting.”

Her voice was a little sharp. She moved again, sitting closer than before. Their clothes touched. She leaned forward, and their stomachs lightly pressed together.

There was a soft smell, like flowers after the rain, coming from her. Her breath felt warm on his skin. When she moved, their bodies touched more, and she tensed for a moment.

 Her warmth surprised him.

”Sir Jibril was the only person I had left. But he threw me away like trash… Do you think saying ‘take care of me’ over and over is going to magically make everything okay?”

 ”…”

”I’ll be by your side. At least until the day I choose to betray you.”

”If I’m being honest, I might end up just depending on you.”

”That’s not what I’m talking about.”

 ”Huh?”

There was a gap in understanding between them. She wasn’t talking about money or plans. She wanted something else. Something simpler.

”Kian, it’s cold. Could you hold me?”

She lowered her eyes, her voice quieter now, as if hiding in his arms. Her breath brushed over his skin.

 He did as she asked.

He moved one arm under her long black hair. Her body was soft but strong. She pressed her face gently against his chest.

 Her warmth spread through him.

Her body wasn’t just soft—it carried the strength of someone who had trained, who had endured. Her hair had a natural scent, almost like the forest after rain.

He could feel everything about her.

Her skin. Her shape. Her breath.

Her shoulder, pale and smooth, peeked out from under her hair and trembled slightly.

”I’m still cold. Please… hold me tighter.”

 ”Like this?”

 ”Tighter.”

”But if I hold you harder, I might hurt you.”

”I want to forget everything. I don’t care if it hurts. Please…”

 ”Linca!”

Kian’s feelings swelled, and he pulled her in tighter.

Even though it must’ve been uncomfortable, she let out a soft breath, almost like a sigh. Then—though she had said earlier that kissing was off-limits—she leaned forward.

 ”…”

She closed her eyes and gently parted her lips.

Her face, usually strong, now looked fragile. She seemed to trust him completely.

He placed his hand behind her head and kissed her.

The scent of Mrs. Fhana’s tea lingered gently in the dark.

Kian held Linca close as they sat together in silence. She leaned forward, giving him a small, hesitant kiss—awkward, but full of feeling.

It wasn’t polished, but it was sincere.

Her breathing was quick and uneven, and she rested her hand behind his neck.

It felt like something she’d been holding back for a long time, and now, she was quietly letting it out. Kian, surrounded by her warmth, felt his heart beating faster. A small fear passed through him—of what she might say, or do—but he still pulled her in gently.

 ”L-Linca. About that kiss…”

 ”――――.”

She didn’t respond with words. Instead, she leaned in again and kissed him once more, firmer this time.

Her arms wrapped around him as if she didn’t want to let go.

 ”Kian…”

Her voice trembled slightly, and when they pulled apart, there was a trace of warmth between them in the quiet. She gave him a soft, uncertain smile.

 ”Your eyes… they look different.”

Her breath caught a little, and her eyes searched his.

 ”Are you… changing?”

”You were the one who reached out like this. What else could I do?”

”I only did what I was taught in the monastery… how to bring someone comfort.”

”You haven’t said things like this to anyone else, right?”

”W-why are you asking something like that now?”

Kian gently leaned forward, guiding her down onto the bed.

Linca looked up, startled at first, then calmed. She studied his face in the low light, his expression serious and focused. Her own thoughts seemed to drift far away.

Maybe she was just being honest, like anyone would be when faced with someone who truly cared.

”If it’s about the past… then I want to help you leave it behind.”

 ”…Mm.”

”You’re not alone anymore, Linca. I’ll be here.”

He didn’t plan to say it. The words just came, carried by something deeper than reason.

He wanted to protect her. To stay by her side.

And Linca, cheeks still flushed with emotion, gave a small nod.

 ”Y-Yes… Sir Kian…”
