Volume 4 Chapter 73 The Truth About The Pirate: The〇〇Ship

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

The naval vessel of the Kingdom of Nakuos arrived at the pirate hideout.

Did they come to rid the seas of pirates, or were they here to silence witnesses, bury the truth?

I needed to know what they were really after.

But the question now was, how to act?

From this distance, the ‘Siren’s Harp’ magic tool couldn’t reach. To probe their intentions, I had to get closer. But this was open sea, the kind of place where you could see for miles in every direction. If I moved too close, they’d spot me. And once they went on guard, there was no chance of catching them off guard. Any evidence or witnesses would disappear into the depths.

”It’d be easy to sink their ship… But…”

A single blast from the ship’s magic cannon would sink them. No one would get hurt.

I could win if I fought. That wasn’t the problem.

”But involving even the low-ranking soldiers… that’s a different story.”

Tifi’s voice snapped me back. She was right.

Even if there was corruption at the top, most of the soldiers were just following orders. They weren’t evil—they were doing their jobs. I couldn’t just attack them without proof. That would make me no better than the people I hated.

”The kingdom’s full of scum, but I don’t want to become like them.”

Yomi’s voice echoed in my mind. Yomi, the necromancer who was thrown away by the kingdom. His anger turned him into a monster. In his thirst for revenge, he hurt innocent people, and that’s what ultimately led to his downfall.

I couldn’t let that happen to me. I had to keep my emotions in check.

Instead of swinging my sword, I needed to uncover the truth first.

 That’s what I must do.

But how? This ship was too big and too noticeable. If I couldn’t be stealthy, I wouldn’t stand a chance.

 ”How about I swim over?”

Korukona’s amber eyes gleamed at me, and I paused.

 ”Are you sure it’s okay?”

She was right—no one would notice a girl swimming in the vast ocean. But could she handle it? The distance was no joke.

”I’ve got this. I’m a great swimmer.” She grinned, ears perked up, her confidence radiating.

I could tell she was already feeling the effects of the Ambrosia potion I’d given her earlier, but she was still determined.

”Plus…” Her tone shifted, and her eyes hardened. “When I was captured by those pirates, I couldn’t do anything. I want to be useful this time.”

I nodded, seeing the fire in her eyes.

 ”Alright. Take this.”

I picked up the Brownie from the ground and set it gently on Korukona’s head.

”When you get there, the fairy will help you open the door. If you need to rest, you can always come back here.”

The tiny fairy, wearing a sailor hat, saluted, her cat ears standing proud.

 ”Understood! Leave it to me.”

Korukona’s mission was risky, but it was the best option we had.

I activated the motel magic, and the shutter opened, revealing a dock area where the entire ship could be stored.

”Heh, it even fits the whole ship!”

Korukona blinked in surprise, clearly impressed.

”It’s the power of the Master.”

”Milord is amazing!” Lifia and Kéa chimed in.

With the ship safely stored, Korukona set off.

”If it gets too dangerous, come back right away. Don’t push yourself.”

”I’ll be fine. This is nothing.”

With a swift jump off the deck, Korukona plunged into the sea, the fairy perched on her head.

We watched her swim toward the shore, then sealed the shutter.

I checked the external footage through the magic menu.

Korukona swam effortlessly, her brown skin glimmering in the sunlight, the fairy secure on her head, not interfering in the slightest. She glided through the water like a part of it.

Eventually, she reached the shore—landing in a shadowed rocky area, barely visible from either the pirate hideout or the warship.

She moved low, crouching and surveying the area before advancing, following the silent signal from the fairy.

With a flick of her tiny arms, the fairy produced a golden card. The Love Hotel door appeared from the ground.

 Korukona opened it, disappearing inside.

 ”Taro… I did it…”

Her voice was shaky with exhaustion, her steps slow and labored.

I rushed to support her unsteady body.

 ”Good job. You did great.”

 ”Hehe…” She smiled weakly.

Lifia stepped forward, handing Korukona a sports drink.

 ”Well done.”

 ”Mm, thanks.”

The first part of our plan was a success. Now, we just had to figure out what was going on inside.

Inside the hotel, Lifia and Rozmiaque moved quietly, slightly opening the door.

Lifia closed her eyes, focusing her Spirit Magic, while Rozmiaque prepared to detect any nearby presence.

”There are many marines and about ten pirate-like figures,” Lifia whispered. “Plus… five others.”

Opening her eyes, Lifia glanced at Rozmiaque. “I can tell the soldiers and pirates. But who are the others?”

”Civilians, most likely,” Rozmiaque answered with a nod.

Their Spirit Magic could read emotions and personalities, making it easy to tell disciplined soldiers from rough pirates, and from those who had never seen battle.
