Chapter 174 Don’t You Know About Me?
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
A woman in a suit bowed her head repeatedly, her voice trembling with desperate pleading—this decision could change her entire life. Behind her stood another woman, silent and unreadable. The situation was clearly complicated, but no matter the circumstances, acceptance did not come easily.
Post-surgery pain and discomfort often defy clear explanation. There are countless possible causes, yet even after thorough examination, abnormalities rarely show up.
It’s easier to understand if you compare it to a car accident. Imagine crashing a brand-new car, damaging its front end. After repairs, the parts come back shiny and new. The car runs fine—no mechanical issues. But is it truly the same car it was before?
Though the parts look pristine, if you dismantle the car and inspect the frame beneath, you’ll find it bent and twisted from the impact. Marks of hammering and pulling attempt to restore the shape, but the damage lingers.
Even if the frame seems restored, it will never be the original. Dig deeper, removing parts unrelated to the crash, and you’ll discover bends and scars there, too.
The impact affects the entire structure, even if performance seems flawless. A new car involved in an accident becomes a damaged car, and it can never return to truly new.
Humans add another layer—psychological scars, which medicine struggles to address. If this woman carries emotional pain, healing will take time.
To be honest, she was a difficult case. But when the other party was a woman, Haruto found himself unsettled. On top of that, he was curious about the story behind it all.
”Could you tell me more about what happened?”
”…Yuna.”
The woman in the suit gave a slight nod. Yuna slowly removed her glasses and mask, revealing sharp, elegant features—she could easily be mistaken for an idol.
”……..”
”……..”
Haruto waited, expecting some explanation to come. But the woman in the suit wore a look that seemed to say, “How do you not know?”
”Don’t you know who I am?”
Those were the first words Yuna had spoken since stepping into the clinic.
”Uh… I’m sorry.”
”Ah, then I’ll explain.”
Seeing Yuna’s expression freeze for a moment, as if caught off guard, the woman in the suit quickly took over.
Yuna was Nishira Yuna—an idol. And the woman in the suit was her manager, Sasahira Sawa.
Yuna belonged to an idol group famous for their intense dance and powerful singing performances. Haruto hadn’t known them, but apparently, they were quite popular.
”I see… I’m really sorry. I don’t watch much TV or follow the internet…”
”…”
”Did such a famous person come here for a shoot or something?”
”Well, um…”
”Just say it. It’ll come out sooner or later anyway.”
”It’s for a new job offer… first there’s an interview, but… um…”
Haruto was surprised an idol from a well-known group needed an interview for a new job, but he kept quiet.
Manager Sasahira seemed hesitant, struggling to say something, so Yuna spoke clearly.
”It’s for an AV job.”
”AV… you mean, like, adult video work?”
”…Yes.”
In Haruto’s previous life, some idols had debuted in AV, but most only after retiring or were underground idols nobody really knew. It was rare for a popular, active idol like Yuna to do that.
This kind of rare AV debut by a current idol was shocking. But what troubled Haruto more was the reason behind it. From what little had been said so far, he could start to piece it together…
