Volume 1 Chapter 35 Ginga-kun, You’ve Become Really Strong★
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
Shion’s Perspective
”Hmm… Shion-chan, what do you think about Shimizaki-san and the others today?” Ginga-kun asked, gently massaging my chest as I moved against him.
”They’ve become incredibly strong,” I replied, recalling what Kanare-san had told me. “It’s hard to believe, but Chinatsu and Haruka have grown so powerful.”
”Yeah. It’s surprising… but it’s honestly great,” he agreed with a small nod.
Just before nightfall, Kurumi, Ouji, Mikoshiba-kun, and Shiki-kun arrived at our base. The stories Mikoshiba-kun shared about monsters in the intermediate layer were almost unbelievable. Yet they were real. Creatures like the Killing Golems that we’d barely managed to subdue with all our might, and the Opal Kerberos we typically avoided, were now defeated easily—Chinatsu-chan’s precise sword skills slicing through them like paper.
”Let’s make preparations during the day,” Ginga-kun said decisively, his eyes filled with determination. “Tomorrow, we’ll return to our home, Shion-chan. We’ll join Asakura-san in the intermediate layer and earn enough gold coins for citizenship.”
Though we had already talked about this, hearing him state it aloud filled me with emotion. My heart stirred at the strength in his voice.
”You’ve really grown strong, Ginga-kun,” I said softly.
He smiled. “It’s because of you, Shion-chan.”
I looked at him—my childhood friend who used to follow behind me on our way to elementary school. Now, he stood tall ahead of me. I brushed my fingertips along his skin, pausing over the scars he’d gained.
”I’m sorry,” I murmured. “You were injured protecting me. If we had used healing magic, the scars wouldn’t have stayed…”
He shook his head. “It couldn’t be helped. Back then, Domoto-kun’s missing fingers were the priority. Healing him was the right call.”
I could see it now—how much he had grown, how dependable he had become. My dear, dear Ginga-kun. He risked himself to keep me safe, even evading Rinko’s search to protect me. The scar across my own abdomen was proof of that moment.
”Hey, Ginga-kun…” I whispered, drawing closer.
I leaned in and kissed him. He returned the kiss gently, accepting my feelings without hesitation. As our breaths mingled, I met his gaze.
”I want to marry you.”
He blinked, momentarily surprised, but then smiled. “Of course. I’m sorry, Shion-chan… that should’ve been my line. Once we get our citizenship, let’s get married.”
My impulsive words had just slipped out, but Ginga-kun caught them sincerely.
”Really? I’m glad…” I said, lowering my eyes in relief.
He gave a small chuckle. “Still… it’s a little lacking in mood, don’t you think?”
I laughed too. “True. I’ve never heard of someone proposing in the middle of… this.”
”But I’m happy,” I added, resting my forehead against his.
Our closeness deepened. I kissed him again, feeling the quiet warmth between us. I moved with him, cherishing the sense of connection.
”I really do love you, Ginga-kun,” I said earnestly, my voice trembling with emotion.
”I love you too, Shion,” he whispered, brushing his lips near my ear as he held me tightly.
A memory surfaced.
”Do you remember the first time I touched you?” I asked, my cheeks warming at the thought.
”Of course,” Ginga-kun replied with a nostalgic grin. “My first time… it was because of you, not my own doing.”
I smiled faintly. “After the fireworks, remember? You’d just come back from the bushes, and I surprised you. I think I startled you more than I meant to…”
”That moment’s stayed with me,” he said quietly. “I was confused. I thought I needed to go again, but something entirely different happened. It was warm, and… overwhelming.”
He paused, then added with a wry smile, “Though it frustrated me a bit. Even though I’m a guy too, you were always the one leading.”
As he spoke, Ginga-kun gently lifted me into his arms without breaking our connection. There was strength in the way he held me.
”I’ve trained. I’ve grown stronger,” he said. “Let me show you what I can do now, Shion.”
”Wait… in this outfit…?” I began, uncertain.
He didn’t answer with words. Instead, his actions spoke for him—steady, sure, and quietly passionate. I held onto him tightly, overwhelmed by his presence and focus.
”Ah, Ginga-kun…” I whispered, feeling my breath hitch from the intensity.
”No waiting today,” he murmured gently. “I’ve brought a stamina recovery item. So let me show you—I’m not just someone who needs protection anymore. I’ll protect you now.”
That night, under the soft light of the base and the quiet hum of our surroundings, we continued holding each other for hours. I fell asleep in his arms, my heart full, overwhelmed by the sense of trust, love, and quiet strength.
It really was wonderful, Ginga-kun.
But next time, let’s take turns leading… okay?

The next morning, Ginga-kun and I walked into the dining hall hand-in-hand. As we entered, we saw Aria, Rinco, and Ouji looking cheerful and lively—but opposite them sat a group of guys who looked completely worn out.
Mikoshiba-kun frowned, tilting his head. “I heard you all had to deal with that every single day. Wasn’t it more exhausting than diving into the middle layer?”
”Yeah…” Yoshizuka-kun sighed with a grimace. “Especially yesterday. It was just too much.”
Several of the other guys gave quiet nods, agreeing silently with hollow expressions.
I looked at them, puzzled. What were they even talking about?
Just as I was wondering, the usual inseparable pair made their entrance—the Kano siblings, arms linked, clearly in their own world.
”Ah, good morning, Shion,” Sayo said with a bright smile. “Yesterday was something else, wasn’t it? It felt like a wild animal park! Things got so intense, we ended up putting in more effort than usual ♡”
With a dreamy expression, she glanced at her brother-in-law Kotaro, who, for his part, looked visibly more drained than usual.
Kotaro scratched his head tiredly. “Were there actually beast-type monsters showing up yesterday?”
Ouji raised a brow and replied flatly, “No, I was talking about you two. After making such a big scene, how can you act like nothing happened?”
Ah, now that I think about it, Aria and the others were being unusually vocal last night. But honestly, I didn’t really hold back either. I was, let’s say… caught up in the moment with Ginga. Rather than stop it, I ended up joining the noise, unintentionally helping to drown it out.
I turned to Aria with a sigh. “We probably need to be more discreet about this stuff.”
Aria just smirked. “That’s rich coming from you, Shion. I’m just training and looking after my master, after all.”
Ginga stepped in, wrapping an arm around me. “Let’s not wait until tomorrow. Let’s just head home now. If no one stops us, we’re not going to hold back.”
Aria laughed softly. “Well, you better prepare yourselves. While you’ve been off doing your own thing, Takumi’s been quietly setting up a harem on the other side. Even Shimizaki-san’s joined in. Just saying—pure ones are becoming rare around here.”
”Seriously…? It’s a nightmare on both sides…” muttered one of the boys, slumping forward.
”Is there no god… or Buddha…?” another added miserably. “Ah, right. This world doesn’t have Buddhas…”
I exchanged glances with Aria, and we both gave a small shrug. A soft, dry smile passed between us.
Honestly, if it was bothering them that much, maybe they should just save up some pocket money and visit a proper establishment.
—That night, which ended up being the last of its kind, we quietly handed over a little extra spending money and gently nudged the poor boys toward a certain respectable business.
While they were away recovering from their exhaustion, the rest of us—Aria, Sayo, and me—took the opportunity to fully enjoy some peaceful, quality time together without interruptions.
