Today was a holiday, yet he set out early in the morning with a dagger at his waist to gather materials for work, leaving the quiet streets behind. Truly, this was what they called “no time for the poor” — a life where even rest was a luxury.
Suppressing a yawn, he stepped carefully across the grassland, damp with morning dew, his hands busy collecting the necessary herbs.
After a while, with his bag beginning to fill, he discovered a small stream. He decided to sit down and rest for a moment.
The gentle murmur of flowing water formed a soothing backdrop as a delicate butterfly, unlike any he had seen before, danced in the air. Nearby, a farmer tended his fields, while soft bleats and gentle baas from sheep and goats punctuated the pastoral calm.
He felt time slow, the peacefulness of the countryside settling over him like a balm, easing the weariness from his heart. After a brief rest, he stood and resumed gathering the remaining herbs, heading toward the edge of the forest.
Careful not to stray too far into the woods, he gathered what he needed without incident. His bag now heavy and full, he returned safely to town. With no troubles along the way, he decided to spend the rest of the day relaxing at the inn before tomorrow’s work.
