Volume 11 Chapter 1 Beautiful Person Attacks
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”Sir Soyuz, you have a visitor.”
After a knock, Lena’s voice came through.
”Yes. Please come in.”
”Certainly… please, do come in.”
Lena led in two women. One appeared to be in her thirties, her short black hair neatly arranged, framing a sharp, striking beauty. She wore a stylish pleated shirt beneath a glossy, expensive black jacket, paired with sleek, high-end men’s trousers—an elegant blend of masculine attire and feminine allure.
The other woman, likely the same age, was slender with long, honey-colored hair that caught the light. She wore a simple but evidently expensive white dress, radiating understated grace.
”Nice to meet you, Lord Soyuz. I am Lydia Petrovich Marinoff. I’m grateful for the chance to meet you despite my sudden visit today,” Lydia said, her voice calm and measured.
”…I’m Soyuz. I did not expect to host a noble, so please forgive any rudeness. I would be grateful for your understanding,” I replied cautiously.
Ah, seriously? Lena’s friend is a noble? Oh no, I hope my manner of speaking is appropriate.
”Though I am a noble, I come from a fallen, impoverished family. Please, just call me Lydia,” she said, extending her right hand.
”Understood. Then, once again, Ms. Lydia, welcome to our home.”
I took her hand ceremonially—
”Huh!?”
An incredible surge of magical power shot from her palm.
”…Ah. Ms. Lydia, you are quite the playful one, aren’t you?” I said, masking my surprise.
No, this wasn’t mere playfulness. Such a sudden, intense release of magical power could cause fainting—or worse, death—to an unprepared person. Nobles could be cruel in testing others. So in ‘return’—
”Hmm… I see… it seems you are indeed more than I’d heard.”
I converted the magical energy slightly and sent it back. She blushed for a moment, trembling, then smiled as if nothing had happened. I’d altered the magic’s quality, creating a tickling vibration inside her, but it didn’t affect her as I’d expected. Well, at least now we understand each other. This person is a monster just like me.
We released hands as if nothing had occurred, and Lena and her companion watched us with curious eyes.
”Um, you must be Ms. Sara? My Lena seems to be in your care. Please allow me to express my gratitude,” Lydia said politely.
”Your words are too kind. I, too, would like to thank Ms. Lena for her friendship and the many items she has purchased,” Sara responded gracefully.
With a calm, dignified air befitting her age, Ms. Sara gave an elegant bow. Perhaps she had once been noble herself.
”Anyway, it feels rude to just stand and talk—please, have a seat.”
I moved the sofa forward and sat opposite her. Though the mansion was old, it was originally a noble’s villa and still had a reception area like this. I was thankful Ms. Mor had kept it tidy during my absence.
”Then, if you’ll excuse me…”
As expected, only Ms. Lydia sat on the sofa; Ms. Sara stood behind her, while Lena remained behind me.
”Ms. Lydia, if you don’t mind, could you have Ms. Sara and Lena step outside?” I asked.
She seemed to catch the true intent behind my words and nodded slightly.
”Then, that’s how it is. Lena, please take Ms. Sara and step back.”
”Yes, understood.”
”Then, Sir Soyuz, Lady Lydia, I will take my leave.”
After watching Ms. Sara leave with Lena, Ms. Lydia’s gaze softened.
”As I thought, you do love your slaves. And I appreciate your consideration for our Sara as well.”
Now her eyes gleamed like a cat who has found its prey.
”Due to circumstances, I have placed them in the position of slaves, but I do not treat them as such. I interact with them as if they were my wives,” she said with conviction.
”Yes, that seems to be the case. I also consider Sara family, so I understand well,” I replied.
There was no falsehood in her words. The affection in her gaze toward Ms. Sara was clear, and Ms. Sara’s look resonated with Lena’s. In that, she was like me.
Putting that aside—
”Um, if I may ask, what brings you to see me?”
Even if she was noble, I was just an adventurer. No need to play games. I asked bluntly.
Lydia’s expression softened, amused.
”I see, very adventurer-like. I don’t like beating around the bush either. First, it’s about work.”
”Work?”
”Yes. I hear you’re a top-notch pharmacist. Coincidentally, I’ve been looking for a skilled pharmacist and wanted to discuss this with you.”
I nodded. I recalled she had Ms. Sara running a shop earlier. She was likely involved in other ventures, so this wasn’t strange. But—
”You mentioned one thing. Is there a second?”
”Yes. The other is simply my interest.”
”Ah, interest.”
”Exactly.”
Just then, Ms. Mor entered with tea.
”Excuse me,” she said politely, setting the teacup before us.
Ms. Lydia’s eyes flickered with surprise as she accepted the cup, then smiled warmly.
”Thank you.”
My respect for her rose considerably here. She doesn’t look down on beastmen, though she seems somewhat surprised.
”This is delicious tea. The brewing is meticulous, and above all, I can taste the love in it.”
”Thank you for praising my Mor.”
I took a sip myself. As always, it was delicious.
After seeing Ms. Mor off, Ms. Lydia leaned forward, eyes sparkling with curiosity.
”Wow, Lord Soyuz, you have beastmen slaves, don’t you? From your words, I can infer—”
”Yes. She is also my wife.”
At my words, Ms. Lydia stood, took my hand, and exclaimed, “Wonderful! I have met many who cherish their slaves, but this is the first time I’ve met someone who treats a beastman slave as a wife! You are exactly the person I’ve been searching for!”
”Huh? Um?” I was taken aback.
She released my hand and sat back down, cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
”I apologize. I got carried away with joy.”
Then, as if nothing had happened, she took a sip of tea. This woman had quite a strong heart.
”Let’s get back to the topic. The reason I’m interested in you is precisely because of how astonished I am by your treatment of your slaves.”
”Ah… why are you so interested in how I cherish them?”
”Thank you for asking. I run several businesses, but the one I invest the most effort in personally is the shop Sara manages.”
”Oh, that… questionable magic tools and costumes.”
”That’s right! I believe you’ve already enjoyed some of my products. What do you think? Was there anything that particularly impressed you?”
Among the questionable tools and costumes Lena had purchased, the one that stood out most to me was—
”The chains… yes.”
”Oh, you have a discerning eye! That is my pride and joy! I have yet to create any decoration that adorns a woman’s body so lasciviously and incites lust like that!”
”Indeed, it was wonderful. Lena’s body— which I must have seen many times— looked transformed, beautiful and lewd, as if she were someone else. It was very exciting. But what impressed me most was the option that didn’t harm the body unnecessarily. Some may be masochistic, but I don’t want Lena or the others to feel pain.”
She stood abruptly, even jumping over the table to hug me.
”You understand! Yes, that’s right. Of course, some women have masochistic tendencies, getting piercings on nipples and clitoris, but that’s a minority. For not just those partners, but many men and women to enjoy these decorations, I’ve put much thought into them! I truly believed you’d notice… ah, how delightful!”
Ms. Lydia patted my back joyfully while still holding me. I could tell now: this woman was something else.
After a breath, she released me, her expression serious.
”You understand now, don’t you? My purpose is to make women beautiful and decadently adorned. For that, I’ve created various costumes, magic tools, and accessories. Yes, I want to make women happy.”
”Happy… you say?”
”Yes. Especially women in unfortunate situations. I believe it is my duty, albeit nominally, as someone born into nobility… and then you appeared. You’ve reached out not only to Lady Lena but also many unfortunate slaves, bringing them happiness. I feel empathy for you, and I am intrigued by your abilities as a healer. What do you say—could you lend your strength to this Lydia?”
Hmm.
There were many things I wanted to say, and honestly, it might be safer not to get involved with this clearly dangerous woman. But she wasn’t lying. She probably had her own secrets.
—Just like me.
So.
”Shall we discuss the details?”
I gestured for her to sit again on the sofa.
