A little before Melon reunited with Yuuta.
We had gathered before the spontaneously appearing Gate in New Jersey, but struggled to send mana into the probe for exploration. The critical mana ran low. So, we hatched a plan: I would serve Ms. Claudel and make her feel pleasure to supply the missing mana through the Claudel-Sheena Conversion.
”Ah, darling. Right there. Just like that~!”
”Yes, yes, Yuuta. That movement gave a good reading. Again!”
Ms. Claudel and Sheena were saying whatever they pleased, but I wished someone would sympathize with me—My body—engaged in such intimate acts under the watchful eyes of Dr. Mathius and the others. No, the one suffering the most had to be Ms. Claudel. She had Sheena Six inserted in her for a while now. Reconsidering that gave strength to my fingers and tongue.
”Ouch. That hurts~! Darling…”

”Okay, Yuuta. The probe’s movement has stabilized. Keep caressing… Claudel, the measurement results still need time to settle, so maintain mana transfer… Yes, just like that,” Dr. Mathius, Mr. Stanford, and Mr. George all watched intently, holding their breath.
”Keep going! Just a bit more. All right, got it!!” Sheena shouted, and cheers rose around us.
”Good. Now, let’s tag this data… hmm? What’s this? Hey Stanford, the Gate was supposed to be inside Tokura Village, an Elf kingdom, right? Why is it so far west?”
”Is there a problem?” Dr. Mathius asked her nervously.
”No… no matter how many times I calculate, the coordinates check out. It’s barely within the empire’s borders. Maybe my sister moved it for research?”
”Sheena, we can’t waste any more time. We don’t even know how long this Gate will last. I trust your calculations,” I said, looking firmly at Sheena.
”…I agree. If it means returning home, it’s fine even if it’s far from the homeland,” Ms. Claudel said, her cheeks flushed, breathing heavily, eyes glistening with emotion.
”That’s right. We’re not the kind to hesitate now. All right, Yuuta, Claudel. Let’s jump to these coordinates!”
The three of us prepared ourselves, each attaching our tags.
”Sheena, this is goodbye. But… I hope we meet again while I’m still alive.”
”Yeah… Mathius. Thank you for everything, mother in this world…”
”Mr. George, please give my regards to everyone. I will definitely bring Akari-san and Karin here while my parents are still alive!”
”Yes, Mr. Yuuta. I look forward to that day.”
”Thank you, Mr. Stanford. I will never forget this kindness.”
”No, Yuuta. I’ve learned a lot too. It’s been a wild ride, but helping you here in New Jersey makes everything Camellia and I went through feel worthwhile. Thank you. And… please apologize to Ellulu for scaring her.”
”Though it’s hard to part, darling, it’s time to go.”
Prompted by Ms. Claudel, the three of us waved to those seeing us off and slowly stepped into the Gate.

”What!? You came back through a spontaneously formed Gate?” Ms. Reina exclaimed in surprise. I was shocked too. How on earth…?
”Well, it’s a long story, but even without mana in that world, we found a way to manage. Right, Claudel?”
”Shut up. You reptile.”
”I told you, I’m a mammal!”
Ms. Reina’s taming skill had allowed us to hijack a Flying Dragon carrying mages from the Imperial Capital, waiting at the base. She threatened the rider and seized it. Together with her, me, and the three from the Gate, we headed toward the Imperial Capital. Just as promised. After being stripped bare by Bear, Ms. Claudel kindly lent me clothes.
”Hey, Melon, is everyone well?” I asked gently. But no—I felt something rising in my chest. I was about to cry.
”Yuuta… I’m sorry… I lost the baby you gave me…”
”!?”
Ms. Claudel, sensing something, gently held my trembling shoulder and whispered by my ear,
”You don’t have to say anything now. Staying safe and escaping is the priority. We’ll talk when we get home. Darling, no unnecessary words. Don’t listen to them!”
”Ah, ah… sorry…”
After that, the five of us barely spoke inside the Flying Dragon’s cage. We arrived near dawn in the Imperial Capital. News of what happened in Suicelma hadn’t reached the capital yet, so we were not under suspicion. Thanks to Lieutenant Reina’s rank, we easily entered the town streets.
”What now, sis?” Sheena asked Ms. Reina.
”First, let’s go to my hideout. Then we’ll think about contacting Zerlant.”
We slipped into downtown discreetly and crashed in Ms. Reina’s rented apartment.
”Now that we’re here, I’m relieved… Sheena, let me see your face properly!”
Ms. Reina finally relaxed, smiling as she embraced Sheena and wept.
As for me…
”Um, Melon, about what you said earlier…” I awkwardly approached, but the events swirling around us left my thoughts tangled. I couldn’t just talk about myself right now.
”Yuuta, there’s too much to talk about. It’s tough handling it alone. Let’s talk again after we meet everyone.”
”I see… okay, I understand.”
Then came a loud pounding on the lodging door.
”Who at this hour?” Ms. Reina said cautiously as she moved toward the door.
”Who’s there?”
”Um… I heard a Lizardman woman entered this room… You’re Lieutenant Reina, right?”
”!? I don’t know anyone like that. You must have the wrong person.”
”Ah, I’m not suspicious. I’m Melset. An agent from Zerlant Kingdom! I’ve been tracking you and monitoring several locations that seem like your bases!”
”Zerlant agents? That’s an enemy country!”
Reina told herself not to trust so quickly.
”I know you’re an agent acting under the queen’s orders, and I’m also searching for Ms. Melon! Ms. Sharlin and Karin also stopped by my place!”
”What!? Sharlin? Karin!?” I was stunned to hear my daughters’ names here.
”If it comes to it, I’ll take them down. Ms. Reina, open the door,” Ms. Claudel said, drawing her sword and standing guard.
The one who entered was a middle-aged dark elf man who came in fearlessly despite Ms. Claudel’s sword at his throat.
”Hey, you. You said Karin, right? What’s she doing?”
”Darling, calm down. Let’s listen to this person’s story. If they’re really an agent, it’s the perfect chance to contact the queen!”
”Ah, yes…” I fell silent.
”Everyone, do you want to communicate with the kingdom? I have a magic radio in my hideout… You can talk directly to Zerlant that way.”
”Really? You can communicate from the Imperial Capital?” Melon exclaimed in surprise.
”Yes. I installed the device brought by Ms. Sharlin and Karin…”
Notes:
• Claudel – The elf captain of the royal guard assigned to Princess Asuka. At first, she had a strong dislike for Yuuta, who is human. Now, Yuuta’s saffle.
• Sheena – A Lizardman from the Apocalypse Empire, specifically a junior researcher in the teleportation research team of the empire’s army. She is the 47th resident (hence ‘No. 47’) of the secret underground facility in Nevada, where she has been living for several years after accidentally being transported to this world through a failed gate experiment. Yuuta’s saffle too.
• Mathius – Middle-aged researcher in a secret underground facility located in the Nevada desert, Earth. A serious and professional scientist wearing a lab coat, tasked with overseeing the research and containment of otherworldly beings, including Sheena, a Lizardman from another dimension.
• George – An U.S. military officer and the son of Michael Anderson, a high-ranking official. He is also the brother of Gregory. Tomori’s husband.
• Melset – A trusted collaborator and spy for the Zerlant Kingdom, embedded in the Apocalypse Empire’s capital, Demonstown. He is a Dark Elf, like Sharlin, and serves as their point of contact for exchanging information. Melset is described as an old man who has been planted in the empire for a long time, likely as part of a network of spies from Zerlant. He is resourceful, cautious, and willing to assist Sharlin and Karin in their mission to rescue Lady Melon and gather intelligence, despite the risks involved.
