Volume 6 Chapter 26 Chinatsu-chan Performs Dangerous Cleaning

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

…Ah, I want to kill these people.

The meeting had been going on for hours. That was my honest, unfiltered thought. The delegation across the table consisted of representatives from the Bureau of Foreign Affairs, the Bureau of Internal Affairs, and other assorted organizations. Despite being a diplomatic meeting, their opinions were fragmented.

”When this works, right?” I asked.

”No, there’s a discrepancy in understanding,” came the reply.

In other words, if left unchecked, they’d deploy the classic “I’m wrong because I misunderstood, but only where convenient” theory. I inserted occasional breaks to confirm with Nyx that there were no misunderstandings, carefully navigating each step.

”This… is tougher than I expected,” I muttered.

”But, Chair, you’re conducting a marvelous negotiation. I am truly impressed,” Nyx said with a warm smile.

”Indeed. Takumi-kun, you really carry yourself like a king—so commanding,” another voice added.

Being praised by an accomplished woman like Nyx didn’t feel bad. Meanwhile, Clarice occasionally nodded off in a corner chair… how enviable. But I was subtly assessing opportunities while negotiating. This had to remain secret from both Nyx and Gandalf.

The negotiation resumed, and everyone returned to their seats.

”By the way, from what I heard earlier, the Quvarian Empire seems to require financial support,” I said.

”Yes…” a financial officer muttered, glancing nervously at the diplomats and military representatives.

They wanted money, plain and simple. So they hoped to extract funds without bruising anyone’s pride. I explained that Gonan Kingdom trade could generate enormous profits, and as Quvarian subjects, they would naturally wish to pay taxes. Of course, as representatives of Seron and Lesta, such obligations weren’t strictly necessary.

Because of that, the diplomats underestimated me. But the military representatives understood the strategic significance of having Haruka-chan, the top-ranked “Ruler of the Underworld,” as a military asset. I maneuvered through the gaps, creating mutually acceptable conditions.

”Shall we settle around here?” I asked.

”Yes, not bad. Now, could we ask Her Highness the Second Princess to come in and sign the documents?”

The Quvarian representative present was Her Royal Highness Second Princess Sheryl, kept waiting in another room for lengthy negotiations. Lucky her… Still, having a responsible royal present, and a woman at that, was a huge accomplishment—one thanks in no small part to Nyx.

Sheryl entered the room, a striking beauty with red hair. Her gaze swept smoothly across the room, pausing at Nyx.

”That chair looks uncomfortable, doesn’t it?” Sheryl asked.

”Yes… a bit hard on the backside,” Nyx replied.

”It’s been a while, Princess Nyx. I’m glad you’re still alive,” Sheryl said with a gentle smile.

Nyx, disguised, rose with a faint chuckle. The princess instantly noticed the switch between Chinatsu-chan and Nyx—an impressive feat. Ignoring the murmurs of the bureaucrats, Nyx returned to her rightful seat, and Chinatsu-chan retook her standby chair.

”Long time no see, Sheryl-sama,” Nyx greeted.

”Yes, your siblings are well cared for in the royal palace. Would you like to join them?”

 ”Ah, but I…”

Nyx’s gaze turned to me—not hostile, but tender, almost affectionate. Seeing this, Sheryl smiled softly.

”I see. I’m relieved you’ve met someone good,” she said.

Though I had braced myself for a member of the Quvarian royal family, Sheryl seemed genuinely kind. Yet, the fate surrounding us was dictated by more than one person’s character. That lesson would be drilled home that very night.

* * *

After signing the documents, Sheryl intended to meet with my siblings, accompanied by Nyx. Clarice provided additional security. Even if Sheryl was good-natured, not everyone nearby could be trusted.

Nyx reported quietly, “Chinatsu-chan, what did ‘Enemy Detection’ reveal?”

”Hmm… skilled operatives are present. But the princess is well-guarded. Plenty waiting up in the attic,” Chinatsu-chan replied, pointing toward the meeting hall’s stables. Definitely assassins lurking… as expected.

 ”Are they strong?” I asked.

”Foolish question, Master. Only someone like Dora-chan is untouchable for Chisame and me,” Chinatsu-chan said.

Her newly acquired skill, ‘Enemy Detection,’ seemed born from her desire to fight the strong. It could locate powerful foes, gauge their strength vectors, and even in chaotic battle, target the right opponents. This time, it pinpointed hidden elites.

 ”Capture them alive?” I asked.

”No, let’s exterminate. Just clear them from this town. Got it?”

Once Princess Sheryl had left, I addressed the remaining bureaucrats.

”Actually, there’s a big rat around. May my maid handle it?” I asked.

The officials tensed, exchanging wary glances. Only one knew the truth; the rest remained clueless.

 ”A… rat?”

”Yes. The documents go into effect tomorrow, but tonight, this is Seron territory. If a rat came gnawing at someone in the middle of the night… terrifying, right?”

”Of course. Do as you wish.”

The finance bureaucrats quickly approved. Clearly, they resented the organization that infiltrated assassins. Others followed suit reluctantly. Poor things—they’d been abandoned.

 ”Alright, Chinatsu-chan, you may begin.”

 ”Of course!”

I deliberately revealed that this was White Wall Chinatsu Asakura, ranked 13th. The bureaucrats murmured in shock; only the military representatives remained calm.

 ”Chinatsu-chan… is she strong?”

 ”Very. Definitely ranked,” she confirmed.

We spoke loudly enough to be overheard. Detecting assassins, with a 13th-ranked operative as protection, should deter any attempts.

”Off I go,” Chinatsu-chan said casually, heading toward the stables. I followed close behind. Clarice maintained a protective barrier just in case.

”Wait for me… I’ll kill them all,” she called cheerfully.

Inside the stables, barely a minute passed, and Chinatsu-chan emerged. No loud battle sounds, just silent, efficient elimination.

”It’s done. The captain and vice-captain’s bodies vanished—must’ve revived somewhere,” she reported.

 ”Good work, Chinatsu-chan.”

”There were ten sets of bodies to clean. Some had… very seductive forms. Maybe I should’ve let Takumi-kun enjoy them before finishing them off?” she teased.

”No need. They might’ve been poisoned. Capturing them alive would’ve been dangerous for you,” I replied.

 ”Takumi-kun, you’re so kind… I want a reward kiss ♡,” Chinatsu-chan said.

I granted her a kiss as a reward. Chinatsu-chan then continued her meticulous scan of the surroundings with ‘Enemy Detection,’ distinguishing between legitimate guards and assassins, completely neutralizing the threat.

The dangerous cleaning had been expertly completed.
