Chapter 58 Prepare What Is Needed, Everyone!!
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”What… is all this?” Ayumu asked, blinking at the assortment of magical tools before him.
”Huh? As you can see, they’re magic instruments. I’ve been instructed to fetch anything you might need, so here they are,” the imposing Imperial Magician replied with a huff, his tone as condescending as his stance.
Before him, tools of unknown purpose had been laid out—gathered to aid in rescuing the Crown Prince. Among them…
”Oh… this…”
It was the disposable lens he had seen Master Rhines use the first time they had met.
”This lens… what does it do?” Ayumu asked, directing his question toward the high-handed magician standing before him.
”Heh, you don’t even know that, do you? You insolent fool.”
The middle-aged man’s attitude screamed authority; he appeared to be an important figure in the magic tools division. Quietly, Ayumu forced himself to remain composed. He knew better than to show irritation—people like this were the type to concoct fabricated faults to trap those who displeased them. Humility here was the safer route.
”My apologies. I am a man of limited knowledge and require the guidance of someone as esteemed as yourself. Could you teach me?” Ayumu said with careful politeness.
”Hmph. So it seems. Then do your utmost to avoid troubling my hands, will you, little fraudster?”
He inwardly groaned at the difficulty of the man but pressed on.
”This magic tool allows one to glimpse concepts and knowledge they already possess. To put it simply for someone of your… limited intellect, it reveals only what you already know. Essentially, it’s useless to you. Understand?”
Ayumu’s mind raced. Useless? On the contrary—it was extraordinarily convenient. Like the Appraisal Skill from his world’s anime, or the Scouter from some orange-haired dragon saga, it was indispensable for someone who already knew the concepts of his original world.
Without hesitation, he activated the lens on the pompous magician.
”Hah—hey! Using it on someone else is pointless unless you’re familiar with them! Listen up, you fool…” the man sputtered.
The lens displayed height, weight, and position. Ayumu’s eyes widened. This could be revolutionary if used correctly.
”Please! I’ll take as many of these magic tools as you have!” Ayumu exclaimed, dropping to his knees in earnest desperation.
”Did… did you hear what I said?” the astonished man asked.
”I heard! Please! I need them, no matter what!”
The middle-aged researcher, the head of the Magic Engineering Division, stared, his face twitching in disbelief at Ayumu’s fervor. Finally, he relented.
”Fine… very well. I have been instructed to cooperate as much as possible. Just… try not to be too troublesome,” he said, his tone grudging, yet compliant. Even so, he continued to cast Ayumu suspicious, crooked glances for days afterward.

He couldn’t believe his luck. It seemed that the Yugan operatives would manage to provide everything he needed. If he failed, death awaited him, but looking at it positively, this was his chance to earn favor with the Emperor.
The Crown Prince’s hemophilia could not be cured outright, but Ayumu already had a strategy to dramatically improve the chronic bleeding symptoms. All that remained was to move forward.
”Everyone, we will now discuss the treatment method for His Highness, the Crown Prince, who suffers from hemophilia,” Ayumu announced, addressing Empress Sarendra, the Yugan dignitaries, the Imperial Magician, and the Royal Physicians.
”First, Royal Physicians, a simple question: what is the natural color of human blood?”
”What? Are you mocking us? Red, of course!”
He blinked. Not only had the respondents answered, but other Royal Healers nodded in agreement. Even in this otherworldly setting, he hadn’t expected the supposedly supreme Royal Physicians to claim blood was red.
”Are you serious?” he muttered under his breath.
A murmur spread among the Royal Healers: “Wait… really? Blood isn’t red?” They exchanged doubtful glances, the room slowly falling silent.
”Well… you see,” Ayumu began, “the red appearance of blood comes from red blood cells, which carry oxygen. In reality, human blood is naturally yellow.”
The Healers were incredulous.
”Silence, you fraud!”
”Impossible! Human blood is red, not yellow!”
He sighed deeply. Persuasion here seemed futile.
”Very well… you may disbelieve, if you wish. But now, listen carefully as I explain why the Crown Prince’s blood coagulates differently than yours.”
He continued, walking them through the physiology. Blood platelets constrict blood vessels to reduce bleeding initially—primary hemostasis. Then, clotting factors solidify the blood—secondary hemostasis. However, the Crown Prince had few or no clotting factors, making coagulation difficult.
”In short, we must perform restorative therapy to supplement the missing clotting factors. Any questions?”
He finally finished the background explanation. Exhausted, he prepared to move into the actual treatment procedure.
”Assuming, for argument’s sake, that your claims are true, how do you plan to supplement these clotting factors?”
”Good question. Hemophilia treatment requires blood products—medications derived from processed healthy human blood.”
”What? You mean you would put a commoner’s blood into His Highness? That’s… blasphemy!”
The room erupted with protests. None had ever attempted or even considered such treatment. Ayumu understood—they would naturally see this as risky, sacrilegious, and frightening.
He remained calm. If they could not grasp the rationale, it mattered little; he had limited options and would do what he could.
”Religious beliefs aside, death occurs when antibodies misidentify foreign antigens in transfused blood as threats, leading to acute hemolytic shock. Even the same blood type can be dangerous without leukocyte removal. That’s why it’s fatal if improperly handled.”
The Royal Healers were stunned, unable to respond. Effectiveness would be proven by the Crown Prince’s body itself. Ayumu would do what he could.
”Regardless, before it’s too late, we need a powerful electrically driven motor. The production of blood products requires a centrifuge, which I have already detailed on a memo. Prepare the equipment accordingly.”
The list of necessary materials was long, but the path was clear. The race to save the Crown Prince had begun.
