Jashin-Daughter 10

Chapter 10 Let’s Enjoy Everyday Life with the Evil Dragon!

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

The place where the evil dragon was once sealed had now become Sakuya’s training ground.

”Father, please take care of me today!”

”Make sure neither of you gets hurt!”

Sakuya changed into her training uniform and faced me, her stance firm. She carried no malice, but her fighting spirit overflowed as we stood against each other.

This kind of training was necessary. As the child of an evil dragon, she needed to learn battle to live on the surface. The blood running in her veins came from her mother, a being capable of destroying the world. No matter her own will, such power would always draw trouble to her.

Even if it was just practice, it was still violent. I never wished to harm Sakuya, but thinking of her future, mock battles to learn control over her power would surely help her.

No—what I really had to worry about was myself… because I would be her punching bag.

 ”Here I come!”

With a spirited shout, Sakuya’s figure vanished from sight.

In the blink of an eye, she closed the distance, her fist breaking the air as it rushed toward my stomach. A normal person would be killed. Even a skilled warrior or a yokai would be left gravely injured. She aimed to smash straight through me. She held nothing back—because she trusted her father completely, she struck with the full power of the evil dragon.

 ”—!?!”

Her fist struck me directly, but I didn’t even flinch. Surprise spread across Sakuya’s face.

Indeed, the body of an evil dragon was fearsome. But even against a daughter who inherited that blood, I could not lose. As her father, I had my pride—and as Head of the Shiryuin Clan, our family’s duty was to seal a world-destroying dragon. This was a good chance to show my strength.

But that instant of shock was fatal in a mock fight. Lightning sparked from my body into her fist. I did not miss her frozen reaction. I swept her legs and knocked her down.

”Your lightning-fast attack was good, but your response afterward was poor. Even when your strike fails, you must react quickly and take your next action. Your mistake was not preparing a second move.”

 ”Yes, Father!”

I had used the Vajra Art, a technique that made the body immovable. It was perfect defense against physical attacks, though it left me unable to move. Against someone like Sakuya, who trusted her own strength, it was especially effective. Even if she knew of the technique in theory, facing it in reality left her stunned.

Though her body was stronger than mine, she still looked at me with respect when I bested her. She had the gift of instantly grasping any move she saw, but she also learned that knowledge alone was not enough. Each day her strength grew higher without limit.

As her father, I was proud, yet inside I couldn’t stop sweating.

A technique never worked twice on her. With her hunger to improve, plus the learning of the Shiryuin Clan’s thousand years of skills, she would absorb it all. At this pace, she could master everything within half a year.

That meant I had only six months left to show her the strength and dignity of a father. Someday, children should surpass their parents—but if it was too fast, it felt a little sad. My father’s pride—my ego—was something I found hard to bear.

”The Vajra Art only strengthens the body! If you attack, use fire against it! Against lightning, remember that metal conquers wood.”

 ”Yes, Mother!”

”I will show you some applications. Next time, overwhelm him with many strikes.”

Yaten taught Sakuya without holding back the wisdom of an evil dragon. Already, there were few humans alive who could match my daughter. In raw strength, she was safe. Of course, she still needed to learn about surprise attacks, assassins, and poison, but that could wait. Such dirty tricks were too soon for a child not even two months old.

For Sakuya, these mock battles felt like sports. It was better this way. It was too early for her to know the cruelty of real violence.

 Even so, Yaten muttered:

”When fighting living beings, poison is useful. Paralysis from lightning is not bad, but poison is best for killing—wait, husband! Why are you grabbing my horn!?”

”Because there’s an order to what we teach. We can’t start with forbidden arts, Yaten.”

I pulled her face toward mine by her horn, not her scruff.

Poison was efficient, yes, but it was too early. For humans, battles were not always about life and death. Sometimes it was like martial arts—showing skill, competing in technique. Using poison would only leave a bad impression.

”Well… you have a point, but… ah, never mind.”

When I stared at her, Yaten gave in.

As mates, we had grown closer than ever. Yaten was no longer only the evil dragon—she was Sakuya’s mother. She had become calmer. Five days into her pregnancy, her belly had already rounded, and I could feel the heartbeat of the life inside.

She noticed my gaze, took my hand from her horn, and placed it gently on her stomach.

”Our child will be born in two days. We must be ready to welcome it.”

”She will be Sakuya’s little sibling. With a second child, our lives will change again.”

”Kufufu, you may even wish for a third. Children are treasures, after all—”

”Mother, today is Father’s sparring day with me. Please don’t flirt too much.”

Arms crossed, Sakuya glared at her parents for flirting in front of their daughter.

It was her childish jealousy—she was such a papa’s girl that she could not accept being left out. She grabbed my arm and pulled me back to the training ground. Yaten, embarrassed, blushed and looked away. Sakuya sighed, adjusted her uniform, and faced me again.

”Father’s number one belongs to Mother. But I will never give up second place!”

”Sakuya, do not be jealous of the baby before it is even born.”

”This is not jealousy. This is a declaration! Father will surely have many more children in the future—ten or twenty is not enough. Maybe even a hundred! Among them, I will declare now that I will be the special daughter he loves most!”

”Hmm. If my lord wishes it, I could indeed give him that many children…”

Yaten aside—was that really how Sakuya saw me? Some kind of breeding machine?

I wanted children, yes, but with moderation. To be seen that way by a two-month-old daughter stung more than her punches. Maybe her innocent words were the cruelest blows of this mock battle. Truly, Sakuya had a sadistic streak without realizing it.

”Father could love a hundred children equally. But still, I want to be special. That is my selfish wish!”

With those words, she charged at me with her full strength.

Her papa’s girl desire turned into a fist of pure destructive power. It was simple, straightforward, yet it carried all her emotions. The blow was lethal. But I did not dodge. As her father, I had to answer the feeling in her violence.

I met her strike with the Vajra Art, perfect defense against physical attacks.

”Even if Father loves everyone equally, I will still make myself special!”

 ”Guh—!”

Her fist, heavy with desire to monopolize me, struck my stomach. My supposedly unshakable body wavered. Her violence had broken through even the Vajra Art. I fell to one knee under the shock, but when I looked up at her, I smiled with pride.

Sakuya beamed back at me, her face blooming like a flower at my gaze. She knew I had accepted all her feelings seriously, never dismissing them as a child’s words.

”Please keep teaching me! I will learn, absorb, and surpass it all! I will be the daughter you can be most proud of!”

”Truly, I can never beat Sakuya’s selfish wishes.”

I reached for her outstretched hand—

 ”…!?”

 ”Hm…?”

”How dare something intrude… on my precious time with Father!!”

We felt it then—an intruder’s presence inside the Underground Temple, a place sealed away from the outside world.
