Chapter 25 Let’s Prepare for Bedchamber Service with the Evil Dragon!
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
At the Sealing Seat, I found myself staring at the stone pillar and the rope that had served as the Nawaumitsuna, the Binding Rope of Birth, during that intense moment. These were tools meant to seal away the world-destroying Evil Dragon, and even though Yaten had poured every ounce of her strength into the birth, pushing like her life depended on it, the sight of the snapped rope and shattered pillar left me with nagging questions. If the wedge designed to bind her was this fragile, then if Yaten hadn’t fallen into that thousand-year slumber, she might have shattered it effortlessly, a possibility that lingered in my mind—
”Though it’s snapped, the length is more than sufficient,” she said.
”Are you seriously planning to use a divine artifact as bondage rope…?” I asked, half incredulous.
”Aye, there’s no rope more fitting to bind me than this!” she declared.
—We’d come to retrieve the Shiryuin Clan’s sacred rope, essentially a divine artifact, to repurpose it as an adult toy to spice up our nighttime activities between Yaten and me.
Even in its torn state, the rope was long enough to bind a person securely. On top of that, it boasted certified strength capable of restraining the Evil Dragon herself, making it perfect for our bondage play. Store-bought stuff would just unravel the moment she twitched, given her incredibly tough body, so for bedchamber service with an Evil Dragon as the partner, the props needed a certain level of prestige to match.
This rope had once held the Evil Dragon captive for a thousand years. It should’ve been an object steeped in deep enmity, yet Yaten, the one directly involved, paid it no mind at all, casually tugging on it to test its durability.
Watching her, I decided to voice the doubt that had surfaced earlier.
”Could that rope really keep you bound?” I asked.
”Of course it could—its strength is one thing, but its true essence lies in completely neutralizing whatever it seals. During Uigetsu’s birth, it broke because it took the full brunt of my power, but used properly, it could easily bind even a high-ranking god.”
”So we ended up destroying a divine artifact like that…” I muttered.
We’d done it to ensure the child’s safe birth, but consuming such a sacred rope still felt like something to apologize for. Only three remained, and ropes effective against divine beings demanded careful consideration of their use. Once word spread that the Evil Dragon Yaten had been freed, we couldn’t predict how the branch families might counter us, so it was wise to stockpile as many assets as possible and prepare for any scenario.
”Ah, no need to fret over it. I am the world-destroying Evil Dragon, after all.”
”I trust that, but human cunning shines in giant-killing feats.”
Since mythological times, humans had occasionally toppled even gods through sheer ingenuity. In fact, a thousand years ago, Yaten—as the world-destroying Evil Dragon—had suffered defeat at the hands of far inferior humans, aided by gods and Buddhas though they were, sealing her away. It was the hubris and carelessness of the strong; she’d been tripped up once before, so while I didn’t underestimate them, I could see a glimpse of unshakeable confidence in her heart that she wouldn’t lose again.
Even when I drove the point home as a precaution, her confidence never wavered. If that was the way of the absolute powerhouse that was Yaten, then supporting her as her mate was one of my key roles.
”A thousand years ago, I was alone, but not anymore. With a reliable husband and our adorable daughters by my side, I don’t feel like I could lose even against the entire world!”
Coming from the Evil Dragon who could destroy the world, those weren’t empty boasts. The surge of power radiating from Yaten as she bared her confidence sparked certainty in me, drawn from my experiences as Head of the Shiryuin Clan touring Japan’s sacred sites and meeting various gods and Buddhas. She was undeniably the strongest on earth, with almost nothing capable of beating her in a straight fight.
That’s precisely why we had to watch out for underhanded tactics, the only real path to victory against her.
The divine drug that had lulled the Evil Dragon to sleep—Sen Suiyaku, the Thousand Sleep Drug.
The ropes that neutralized her immense power and bound her—Bakushin Nawa, the God-Binding Ropes.
The Shiryuin Clan’s barrier arts that contained her overflowing power and miasma.
A thousand years of sealing had given the branch families plenty of time to amass similar artifacts as countermeasures. Back then, it had taken the combined might of central Asia and Japan to succeed. In today’s global society, the whole world might unite against the Evil Dragon, so we had to execute our plans while minimizing casualties and damage.
We couldn’t afford to turn the world against us; we had to prove Yaten’s value as the Evil Dragon—absolute benefits for humanity.
Her status as an Aramitama divinity, and the blessings humans could gain by enshrining and appeasing her.
[T/N: Aramitama (荒御霊) refers to the “rough/wrathful aspect” of a Shinto deity, often embodying destructive power until pacified through worship. It’s contrasted with Nigitama (gentle aspect).]
Our goal was to seat Yaten on a godly throne and secure influence in human society. If the world turned enemy, defeat was inevitable, so we needed to set up negotiation tables, convincing as many power brokers as possible that coaxing the Evil Dragon was more profitable than confronting her.
Honestly, I’d prefer to handle the branch families as peacefully as possible. Political resolutions were ideal; force would only plant deeper seeds of resentment.
”That’s a last resort, obviously. Everything we’re doing is for the kids’ future.”
”I know. I don’t want our little ones living in endless conflict.”
It was all to ensure the children could live normally in human society. Not feared and shunned as the Evil Dragon’s offspring, but accepted as half-god, half-human dragon children. For that, we were prepared to swallow our pride and deal with the branch families’ wicked schemes and political machinations, bitter as it was. Avoiding extreme measures and resolving things amicably came first, and once that was done, it would be Yaten’s turn.
”Leave the politics to me—I’ve not toppled great nations as a nation-ruining beauty for nothing!”
”Whoa, don’t destroy anything! I need you to handle it soundly!”
Her track record as a cunning nation-ruiner was proven by the countries Yaten had brought down. Even with a thousand-year blank in her resume, her political maneuvering after gaining a godly seat would be fine. The Shiryuin Clan’s fate depended on how things played out, but we’d need to establish a new house for those inheriting the Evil Dragon’s bloodline. That world-destroying power, even if not fully passed on from their mother, was still immense, so for generations, we’d unite the family as the Evil Dragon clan, educating and guiding them properly to avoid troubling the world.
With half-human, half-dragon hybrids arriving at a pace of one every six months, and their bodies maturing to adulthood in no time, our descendants were guaranteed to proliferate wildly. Such beings with tremendous power needed a structured house to ensure they were raised right and didn’t cause chaos.
”Two children a year, and then those children having their own—hmm, in ten years, our bloodline could reach ten thousand.”
”Ten thousand…? ! No way, we’re not popping out kids that fast…?”
”They’re my children, remember? If inclined, their bodies could produce a hundred a year, so we should plan accordingly.”
”At that point, it’s not founding a house—it’s founding a nation…”
I was all for prosperity, but the thought of Evil Dragon descendants numbering in the tens of thousands was downright terrifying. And to my murmur, Yaten flashed a grin that was evil without malice, true to her Evil Dragon nature.
”Why not? Stealing a country with you sounds entertaining. If our descendants, bearing our blood, blanket the world—what a marvelous future that would be.”
With a dreamy, melting expression, Yaten imagined our lineage’s proliferation. Having discovered the primal allure of forging bloodlines and bearing children, her reproductive instincts were ironclad. She viewed children as the ultimate treasure, nurturing each one with maternal care, but if her capacity allowed, she’d consider multiple births to have several at once.
If I didn’t rein in the baby-making, humanity might go extinct in a whole different way…!
A thousand years from now, most of humanity could be our descendants. Born strong, capable of over a hundred offspring per year if they wanted, and with near-immortal longevity—they’d undoubtedly become earth’s dominant force. The world-destroying Evil Dragon wiping out humanity not through violence but something else, peaceful yet terrifying in its inevitability, something I couldn’t outright deny.
Yaten wrapped the sealing rope around her body, her instincts stirred not as the Evil Dragon but as a living being, her face flushed with an aching, lewd desire as she entwined her arms with mine.
”I’m eager for our plan’s success. It means lifting the ban on our child-making.”
”Don’t count your chickens before they hatch. First, we have to get you seated on that godly throne.”
”Aye, then our children would be gods’ offspring—kuhuhu, not bad at all.”
Scattering her feminine allure not as a mother but as a woman, Yaten leaned in, whispering in my ear with a voice sweet as poured honey.
”Tonight’s bedchamber service has me on the offensive, you know? You’ll be blindfolded, savoring fresh pleasures in the darkness.”
”Nnh…? Fine, I don’t mind being on the receiving end, but don’t get too intense.”
Her words carried hidden intent, golden eyes gleaming with mischief. Like a child at an amusement park, barely containing her excitement, she tugged my arm.
”It’ll be fun… and since it’s not the real deal, no issues, right?”
”What exactly are you planning for me…? Please, nothing painful.”
To my uneasy question, Yaten responded not with words but with a full, melting smile meant to reassure me.
