When I got back to our base, the air was heavy with a tension that prickled across my skin.
…Was this killing intent?
I hurried through the gate, heart thumping.
Had Livia already moved to attack while I’d been scheming with Anne-san and the others? Or had word leaked out about our plan to assassinate Mafat?
”Ah, welcome back,” Hikari-chan greeted me.
”I’m home, Hikari-chan. But something’s off here. Did something happen?”
”Well, about that…”
She gave me a rueful smile, just as the other boys—everyone except Ginga-kun—closed in on me, radiating hostility.
”Oi, Takumi.”
”Eh…? What’s wrong, Suenaga-kun?”
”You… traitor.”
From my closest friend, those words hit like a punch. He even looked ready to kill me. What on earth had I done? Hikari-chan still looked normal, though.
”What were you doing while we were diving the Labyrinth?”

What!? Even Mikoshiba-kun, usually the cool, quiet shadow in the class, glared at me with outright malice. Meanwhile, Hikari-chan was chuckling, Chinatsu-chan smirked, and Shion-chan just looked exasperated. All the girls who weren’t my slaves seemed to share that expression.
”Hey, Nasu-kun,” Kahoru-chan piped up.
”W-what is it, Kahoru-chan…?”
”That was no good. Of course the guys would wanna shine you for that.”
”Wait, what was… no good?”
I had no clue. They couldn’t possibly know about Ranka-san yet. Shiori-chan’s matter… could it be that?

Ah. I’d just poured oil on the fire. The killing intent spiked even higher.

The murderous intent wasn’t even hidden anymore; it slipped into their words like knives. Honestly, I was scared.

Suenaga-kun’s accusation set the rest off in unison.

Right on cue, the girl herself strode straight through the storm of killing intent like Moses parting the Red Sea, stopping right in front of me.

Well, she was an elf queen, after all. Still, no guards seemed reckless… but Meruru was strong, so maybe she didn’t need them. The problem was her outfit. She’d draped a cloak over herself, but underneath was a green leotard-style combat suit that flaunted every curve. Her breasts looked like they’d spill free if she moved the wrong way.
”Welcome home, Tac-kun.”
”I’m home, Aria.”
The words slipped out before I could stop them, but oh no. In front of all the boys, her calling me Tac-kun—and me answering like that—made the killing intent swell even more.
Could I really keep the class together like this?

When most had gone, Sakasaki Lumine-san remained. My stomach dropped. If this was like before, tonight would be when she committed suicide.
But the words she spoke were nothing I expected.
”Hey, Nasu-kun.”

”Call me Lumine-chan.”

She flicked her blonde hair, smiling in satisfaction. Her golden hair looked dazzling against her sun-darkened skin. How did she keep that tan when she spent every day in the Labyrinth?
”Nasu-kun, do you want to make a harem?”
What kind of question was that? Obviously, what I’d been building was a slave harem. And this time too, the MDGC girls seemed eager to join.
