Chapter 6 Communication

All the company’s games shared one world—same gods, races, and myths. Angels always showed up: divine, absurdly strong, beloved.
And the one in front of me now was the first and most famous.
”Long time no see. Here for weapon maintenance again?”
(Yes. Please take care of me again today!)
She hated stiff talk, so I kept it casual. From the thirteen blades on her back, she drew the center one—the *Angel’s Sword*. Plain silver, flawless balance. The same blade I’d once forged for her when she lost her wings. Recreating it had restored her, so she kept visiting, always paying in rare materials.
”I’d like to check it more closely. Would you follow me to the workshop?”
(Yes, of course!)
The scan showed her Mana clogged in the blade. My fixes failed. Her worried look pushed me to try one more thing—I pressed one of her feathers to it. The flow surged bright and clean.
…Had I just upgraded it?
”This is strange. It feels like it fits my hand even better than before.”
She swung it lightly, surprised. I Appraised it—
■■Sword ‘■■’ +1
Physical Attack / 250 + 25
Range / 1–■■■■
Special / ‘Pierce V’ ‘Life Drain V’ ‘Mana Drain V’ ‘■■■-exclusive’ ‘■■Special■’ ‘■Fate■Sever’
Stats way beyond any game weapon. Pierce ignored defense. Life and Mana Drain V both stacked. The rest unreadable—probably Archangel-only effects.
It wasn’t just strong. It was outside the rules entirely.
