Chapter 205 Ugly as a Pig

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

Upon arriving in the elf nation of Lukurusa Theocracy, I passed through border control and entered the capital, Aria-done.

This theocracy allowed entry only to nobles who could guarantee payment; anyone else was regarded as a criminal by default.

I had been thrilled at the prospect of seeing a land filled with beautiful elves—but reality hit hard…

”Hahaha! Look at this guy! His face is flat and ugly like a pig!”

”Giggling! It’s true! Hey, flat-face! How do you even see ahead with that mug? Don’t run into a tree!”

I had been brutally discriminated against purely for my appearance. Still, I tried to keep my spirits up as I walked through the forest city. Peering from hollowed-out trees, elven children peeked out—an undeniably cute sight.

Yet the moment they saw me, they twisted their eyes and flared their noses into pig-like gestures. Clearly, future bigots in the making!

At the inn, the reception was no better.

”You, outsider? Sorry, but we don’t let humans stay here. Go to a human-only inn…”

”Hey! Don’t pee around here, inferior species!”

The locals were astonishingly exclusive and unwelcoming. Prices were absurdly inflated—sometimes tripled! Disillusionment set in. Terrible people… I longed to return to Keldan.

The city itself, however, was a wonder: buildings carved from massive trees and giant mushrooms, a fantasy come to life.

Still, the elves mocked my features: narrow, upturned eyes; a low nose; a round facial contour; underdeveloped jaw; and small stature.

Yet, despite their discrimination, their culinary skills were impressive. Acorn biscuits and roasted acorn coffee were exquisite! The elves’ food culture clearly surpassed that of humans.

(As a side note, to maintain appearances for my study of theology here, I donned ceremonial robes and a mitre to interact with the bishop—my reason for being in Lukurusa officially.)

The clergy themselves, plagued by indulgence and poor habits, were far heavier and rounder than I had ever been. Struck by irony, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of shock—these supposedly holy men were far more “pig-like” than I had ever been accused of being.
