Chapter 28 Interlude – Replying to Comments

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

”All right, then. While Reina is getting used to the Magic Eye, I’ll answer some comments,” the voice said, light and a little amused.

”First, the most asked one—Is this really an otome game (dating game)?” a comment read, and the voice read it out loud.

”Yes. It is,” the voice replied, adding a quick note. “In the main story, anyway. This game is an otome game.”

”But,” the voice went on, leaning in as if sharing a secret, “on the PC version only, the producer, the main scenario writer, and the head developer put out an unofficial final patch on their personal blogs for free.”

They paused, pleased with the reaction. “If you apply those daily updates and extras at your own risk, you can get eroguro (erotic-grotesque) content with an R-rated content and all the hidden backstory and scenes cut from the main story for mature audiences.”

When asked if that patch was truly allowed by the company, the voice smiled and quoted the writer. “When the company gave them permission to distribute it, the main scenario writer said, ”This is the world I really wanted to make—” and he cried. So even if it is called unofficial, many fans treat it as the true official story.”

They made a small laugh. “Maybe they had to call it an otome game to get the plan approved. I don’t know, though.”

”Next question—The free mode is too open. Does the game actually end? If you play a certain way, it might never reach an ending.” The voice nodded. “That’s fine. If you fail to meet the clear conditions the developers set, the game will auto-clear or end in game over after some time.”

They explained, “If you never make any ties with the main characters in the main story, while you play on your own, the heroine and others will go on with their lives behind your back. After a while, the game gives you a ‘It seems the world was saved’ true ending from a normal NPC point of view, and it ends.”

”On the other hand, if you get involved half-heartedly, break their flags, and still don’t meet clear conditions, the world will end and you get a bad end.”

They added, “By the way, one of the clear endings the developers put in is ‘become maou (demon king).’ Right now I’m aiming for that.”

”And there are many branches in that maou end,” they said, eyes bright. “What I want is the ‘strongest demon king end.’ Check with my own eyes or follow my play commentary to see which one I reach.”

”Next—Did you need to kill Homo-chan’s parents?” someone asked.

The voice’s voice got small. “Maybe it wasn’t needed,” they said, in a low tone.

They kept a teasing, guilty laugh. “I drew a lucky gift, but the stats were trash across the board, so maybe I took it out on them. I can’t really remember… I don’t know. I’m human trash, haha.”

They imitated a dramatic cry. “I didn’t want to reroll anymore—no more risemara (gacha reroll)!—so I just killed them, ZE* * *” they said with a false, bright cheer.

”Well, it’s done, so let’s move on. Next—Won’t you kill Cliff soon?” a comment asked.

”Hmm. I can kill him, I guess,” they said, lowering their voice and mumbling. “‘If I can, I will… maybe.’”

They explained more calmly, “He’s not totally useless. The best thing is to let him do his role without causing a big loss. But if he causes too much loss, I’ll kill him.”

”Next—Tell us Homo-chan’s height, weight, and three sizes,” the chat demanded.

They looked at the camera with mock suspicion. “Are you straight or something?” they asked, giving a doubtful look.

Then they answered, smiling. “Fine. Their stats match exactly a certain top runner from that anthropomorphized racehorse game who never gives up.”

They added a joke. “By the way, that runner’s three sizes are 100, 100, 100—a real drum can. It’s a laugh-out-loud gag.”

”Next—Is there a BL route?” someone asked.

”There is!” they answered in a huge voice.

”If you get a male character in free mode, you can even make a bouquet of roses (very suggestive),” they teased.

”And if you want to make the roses bloom yourself, that’s fine too,” they said, smiling.
