Chapter 30 The Monster at Night in Alys Magic Academy

The Hidden Gimmick Monster, Night Alice, is a special scenario boss from the Maidens x Cross-dressing (Yuri) RPG.
Her reputation? Nothing but cunning and utter cruelty. This creature, one of the founders of Alys Magic Academy, the White Knight Carol, hijacked the Mirror World—a Wonderland she’d created for her own beloved daughter’s free adventuring—and ruled the nocturnal academy from the shadows as the Hidden Boss.
Because the protagonist, Alexia, is tied to the Regain Royal line, the monster—Night Alice—never interfered with the main story of the H-Game itself, simply acting as the student council president until Alexia’s graduation. In the game, a certain incident after Alexia’s graduation finally revealed her machinations. The Mirror World she controlled collapsed, and the ultimate protagonist, Alexia, struggled to defeat Night Alice herself… but seriously?
”There is no way a player should be fighting this early in the game (the starting phase), you hear me, H-Game God? If the current Alexia had to face this thing, she’d be dead for sure!”
”Ohoho… if I let you see me like this, I’ll have no choice but to kill you, won’t I? Say hello to Murder Doll (Alice Doll).”
A cracking sound, then another, then a louder snap! CRACK… CRACK… SMASH! A horrifying chorus of giggles and manic laughter erupted: [GIGGLE… HAHAHA!] [AHAHAHA…] [KEEHEHEHE!!] [KYAHAHAHA!!]
Night Alice’s body contorted and shifted into a bizarre, grotesque shape, shedding itself as thousands of tiny dolls. Each one of them carried a minuscule, deadly weapon.
This was Night Alice’s First Form: the Slaughter Doll (Alice Doll). The horrifying remains of thousands of children caught and captured by Night Alice over the years.
”Fufufu… you seem awfully confident for someone about to be skewered by my little dolls, don’t you? Say hello to the Slaughter Dolls (Slaughter Dolls)!” she drawled with cruel pleasure.
”You’re showing your true form way too soon—we haven’t even started the fight yet! Divine Artifact Activation: Silver Princess Blade— ‘Silver Thousand-Cut’! I’m releasing you right now, upperclassmen!”
The Divine Artifact, Silver Princess Blade, has three main abilities: blade separation, silver thread, and reflection. By skillfully combining these, I can fight in unpredictable ways. Right now, facing thousands of dolls rushing at me, I split the Silver Princess Blade into thousands of individual blades and unleashed them all at the dolls simultaneously.
[AHAHA!] THWACK!
[KYAHAHAHA!] THWACK! THWACK!
[GYAHAHAHA!!] THWACK!
It was like a locust swarm being annihilated. This Divine Artifact has been passed down through the Elven Royal family of this world, and it possesses the Light Attribute.
And for the Hidden Gimmick Monster, Night Alice, a Dark Attribute entity, that’s the absolute worst possible match-up.
”It’s pointless no matter how much you attack my student dolls! Their souls are trapped forever—wait, what? My dolls’ souls are disappearing?!” Night Alice shrieked in shock.
I can’t blame Night Alice for being surprised. All the prime quality souls she’d collected over the years were being released.
”The golden rule for clearing games is to squash the gimmick first, especially with a clever, ruthless opponent like you. Divine Artifact Activation: Silver Princess Blade—’Full Counter’!”
I triggered the reflection ability on all the blades that had impaled the dolls. The resulting phenomenon caused the dolls to instantly revert to their original point of origin—returning thousands of deadly projectiles straight back to Night Alice herself.
”…I should have known something was odd. That someone like you would possess one of the Seven Divine Artifacts!” Night Alice hissed, startled.
”You’re too slow to catch on, one of Alysphere’s little distortions! ‘Silver Acceleration’! Dark Magic ‘Dark Ball’!”
Thousands of dolls and silver blades simultaneously plunged into Night Alice’s body, each one accelerating and spinning in a different direction.
”Ugh! You brute! AHHH!” she screamed.
Night Alice’s grotesque body was shredded into a thousand pieces, transforming into a pile of mangled meat chunks that scattered a large quantity of green liquid all over the gymnasium.
I immediately deployed a defensive barrier magic around myself to prevent contact with that green liquid. It’s a deadly poison that melts your skin on contact, after all. If I hadn’t understood this fight’s gimmick from my previous life and eaten that attack blind… I would definitely be dead right now.
”Well, that’s Phase One conquered, I guess. Now, what’s her next move gonna be?”
A white light began to ascend from the meat chunks of Night Alice. Maybe those are the souls of this world, Alysphere? If so, they’re finally free from Night Alice’s curse and can rest in peace. Good.

”When I had Yorn-san watching you, the report said: [Shin Seyfried is without issue.] But this is a huge issue! Why does a powerless, ignorant person like you, someone who is only destined to die, possess this kind of power and a Divine Artifact, Seyfried-kun?”
The voice of Night Alice echoed from the shredded meat chunks. Did that massive attack not even scratch her? What kind of HP does this thing have?
”I’m under no obligation to answer you, President Alice. Not to a student leader who tries to brainwash new students the moment they enroll.”
”In that case, perhaps I’ll just brainwash you and make you tell me everything… ‘Alice Slaughter’ (Slaughter Girl)!”
GRZZZZ…
From the mound of flesh, Night Alice’s true body, the student council president herself, emerged unharmed. She was holding a red saw in her right hand and a huge pair of shears in her left. She looked absolutely intent on finishing me off, despite my relentless assault earlier.
”You truly are a monster, President Alice.”
”I’ll return that compliment, Freshman Class President Shin Seyfried-kun. It’s frankly ridiculous that someone with this kind of power isn’t the class president this year. Why do you waste all that strength by not using it to instill fear in others? It’s a pity!” she taunted.
”I hate standing out, and I definitely don’t want to get executed. Besides, the thought of crazy people like you trying to exploit my power infuriates me. Sirius Style: Wolf Fang Weave (Fang of the Wolf)!”
I activated the Silver Princess Blade’s silver thread ability, binding the threads to the blade’s Wolf Fang strikes, unleashing a continuous flurry of slashes in every direction.
”Ordinary attacks like that can’t deal any real damage to me! ‘Hobby Execution’… AHAHAHAHA!”
From Night Alice’s perfectly formed face, a new face began to appear. Literally, parts of a face—eyes, nose, mouth, ears—sprouted all over her face… no, wait, correction—all over her entire body.
To top it off, her arms and legs branched out like small, spindly twigs. She looked like a creature that was half centipede and half alien. It seems she’s completely given up on hiding her true monster form, and is her language getting rougher than before, President Alice?
That creature rushing at me is honestly disgusting. But even with that terrifying form, the continuous storm of Wolf Fang Weave slashes is keeping her from advancing a single step closer.
”You destroyed my world, the Mirror World, the place I could enter and exit as I pleased!” she roared.
Well, yeah. I had to destroy it. It was the only way to disable Night Alice’s invincibility state.
”You interrupted my midnight feast in the gymnasium and even saw through my true identity!”
Of course, I’m going to interfere when you try to eat my favorite girl, Alexia, and her devoted maid, Layla-chan.
”And you attacked me and released the souls of students I’d spent years collecting! You truly are a savage, Seyfried family’s Bratty Young Master! How did you manage to block my toxic blood just by looking at it? I demand you tell me!”
That’s simple. You were a gimmick boss monster I died to countless times in my previous life’s game-memory, so I know exactly how dangerous you are, Night Alice.
”…I’m telling you again: I won’t tell you a thing! ‘Silver Thread Blade’!”
”That attitude of yours has been irritating me this whole time! [Alice Link (Limb Girl)]!” she shrieked.
[KYAHAHAHA!] [AHAHAHA!] [IHIHIHI!]
”What is this? Is that the voices of President Alice’s subordinates from the Mirror World? I can’t say you have good taste, President. Sirius Style: Annihilating Light Thread!”
A single silver thread is brittle and easily broken, but what if a thread, made up of tens of thousands of strands, could cut through anything? If I had such a thread and could control it freely, any opponent I faced would be in deep trouble.
[[[…My toys are being diced into cubes by threads! Ugh! This isn’t what I was promised! They said the new student was weak! They lied to me, dammit!!]]] she wailed.
[Gyaaaaah…] [Ihihihi…] [Iyaaaah!!]
”It’s the same as before, President Alice. You can’t lay a finger on me, and—”
[[[SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! Be silent! SILENT! SILENT!!! As if I, Night Alice, could lose a fight to one mere Bratty Young Master who only wields one Divine Artifact! ‘Wonder Tale’ (Wonder World)!]]] she bellowed.
The gymnasium, our battlefield, began to be enveloped in darkness. The force of our battle had already sent chairs flying into the walls and punched countless holes in the floor and walls. If we wreck it any more, the Magic Academy is going to be seriously mad at us.
[[[KNOW YOUR PLACE, BRAT!! There’s no scenario where a child like you, a child destined to die, gets to defy the Alys Magic Academy Student Council President! AAAAAAHH!!]]]
Night Alice’s limbs swelled and merged, transforming into one gigantic tail that she swung down towards me.
”…I gained this power specifically to smash those kind of ridiculous scenarios! I’m here to ensure the protagonist, Alexia, gets the scenario where she ends up happily married to someone! Once that’s done, my role ends, and I can seek salvation from this tale of destruction! I am the ultimate sword and shield to protect her! Explode! Explode! Strike the foolish adversary with the iron hammer of evil! ‘Abyssal Black Vortex’ (Black Hole)!”
I launched a small sphere of jet-black light from my palm towards Night Alice. It was a high-speed chant propagation, but somehow, I managed to pull it off. This is one of the most dangerous magics I can use. After all, it’s a super-gravity Dark Magic that compresses the enemy, guaranteed to erase them from this world.
The moment Night Alice’s tail touched the technique I unleashed, it happened.
”…What is that power? A mere human child shouldn’t possess such power! A power that surpasses me! There’s no way this academy will tolerate it! ‘Despair Alice’!” she cried.
The Student Council President, with her eight grotesque, segmented legs, noticed the danger and rapidly lunged toward me.
”It’s no use. Your judgment is slow… must be all that time in the academy dulling your senses, President Alice—’Evil Annihilation’!”
[Wh-wha?! I’m being swallowed?! My body is… How can this be?! I only came for my usual meal! Don’t you dare!] she garbled, her voice corrupting as she was consumed.
Alice’s body vanished into the Abyssal Black Vortex. Slowly, slowly, that grotesque form was disappearing.
”Choosing Alexia and Layla-chan as your targets for a ‘meal’ was your fatal mistake. They’re my ideal couple. I won’t let anyone interfere with those girls working hard for their ‘Blessing of Lifelong Devotion’. Vanish, President Alice, from this beautiful world.”
[This is… my last word! I was chosen! I am one of the Seven… exi…st…]
GRZZZZ… WHOOSH… THUD!
Alice’s body was gone, leaving only the ribbon she’d worn fallen on the floor.
”She was trying to say something at the end, but… it’s over. Now, to fix the gymnasium with ‘Auto Heal’ and then it’s B-B-Bye-Bye from the gymnasium for tonight…”
STAB!… SLICE!
”…Huh? What? A sword is sticking out of my chest… What?”
THUD!
[Ahah… AHAHAHA!! You fool of a brat! That ugly body wasn’t my true self! That body was just a dummy! My real body is this beautiful ‘Meat Chunk Hairpin’, Shin Seyfried!! AHAHAHA!!]
Alice’s newly sharpened limbs stabbed into every part of my body. The victorious Night Alice laughed loudly—
Clap, clap, clap, clap… Hold on a second! The real me, looking a lot like Makoto, applauded Night Alice’s laughter.
”AHAHAHA!! You’re right! I hadn’t anticipated you’d have so much trouble with my ‘Honorius’ (Vow)-created, degraded copy, President Alice!”
[Haha… Huh? You… Why are you sitting on my stage? You should be lying on the floor in front of me—”]
”I just told you: that was my fake self. A degraded copy that didn’t even have half of my actual power, you see.”
[…A degraded copy?]
Night Alice, who had somehow reverted to her original Student Council President form, looked completely astonished.
”Oh, right, that’s not a word in this world, is it? …Well, whatever. This is the real goodbye now, Night Alice… Dark Magic ‘Dark Exorcism’!”
I launched a beginner-level Dark Magic spell at President Alice.
[Ahah! It’s too late for a weak attack like this—] Gasp!
CRACK!
Night Alice—or rather, the ‘Meat Chunk Hairpin’ that housed her essence—took the Dark Exorcism head-on. Her body shattered like a mirror and dissolved into sand-like particles, vanishing completely.
”…She was weak. I expected a power reduction, but this was a total humiliation. Farewell, President Alice. I’ll be taking over this Magic Academy and making it Alexia’s personal garden from now on. I intend to give that girl the absolute best environment to live in. See you later.”
I coldly declared my farewell, used ‘Auto Heal’ to restore the gymnasium to its original state, and then quietly slipped back to my room in the boys’ dorm, back to where Alexia and the others were sleeping.

”Shin-kun… mumble, mumble…“
”Gugh! Shin-sama!”
The protagonist, Alexia, and the heroine, Layla-chan, were sleeping sweetly together in the same bed. All is good, all is well! Hohoho!
I gently stroked Alexia’s bangs.
”…Tonight’s nightmare is completely over, Alexia. My greatest rival and my absolute favorite girl, Alexia… I’ll keep doing my best so that you can be happy in this world (the real one). And once that’s over, I’ll start my slow life plan in the remote territories…”
”Fnyafnya… Shin-kun. If you cheat on me, I’ll chase you to the ends of the earth and chop your head off. I’ll follow you forever.”
”Shin-sama… I’ll chase him too!”
”…Huh? What terrifying things are these girls saying in their sleep?”
Th-those are some awful things to say in a sleep talk! They’re t-t-terrifying!
”…S-Somebody help me! That kind of Death Flag shouldn’t even be possible, Gods!” I yelled up at the ceiling, looking at the two terrifying sleepers. Of course I would! If I try to run away, they’ll chase me to the ends of the earth and chop my head off? What kind of Death Flag is that?
This means I have to stick by Alexia forever, trying to navigate life without getting my head chopped off! I don’t have enough spare lives for that kind of destiny!
”Kuh! I will live! I’m going to survive until I die of old age, and I’ll break free from this irrational life forced upon me!”
With that silent vow, I’ll do my best again tomorrow.
