In Alysphere Year 1000, the then-Student Council President, Miss Alice Miller-Lewis, suddenly vanished from within the Alys Academy grounds one night. The next morning, the Alys Magic Academy was shaken by the news of a missing person case, creating a terrible uproar.

Search parties were formed, scouring the Alys Magic Academy, the Regain Royal Capital, and the Great Regail Grasslands for months on end, yet they couldn’t even find a body. Eventually, the search efforts were abandoned.

Following this, an investigation into Alice Miller-Lewis’s background began.

The investigation soon revealed that she had been deeply involved in a series of noble disappearances that had occurred over many years in the Regain Royal Capital and at the Alys Magic Academy. On top of that, other crimes—long-term human trafficking, arms smuggling, and circulating illegal drugs—were successively brought to light by the Magic Investigation Bureau, exposing the full extent of her evil deeds to the world.

As a result, the Alys Magic Academy lost the public’s trust. To restore the magic school’s credibility, a proposal was floated to install Saghir Seyfried, the heir of the Regain Kingdom’s close retainer, the Seyfried family, as the new Student Council President.

However, it was then discovered that he too had gone missing several months prior. He was later confirmed to be living with a settlement of monsters—a horde of orcs—in the Scar Red Territory, where he was consequently designated as a new species of monster and subsequently vanquished by a hero.

Following that, a bitter factional dispute erupted within the Alys Magic Academy over who would claim the seat of the new Student Council President.

However, the conflict was eventually resolved by a recommendation from Yorn Sensitive, who was serving as the Student Council Treasurer at the time. The compromise was to appoint the top new student of that year, Alexia Churidince, as the new Student Council President.

…While this is strictly a matter of speculation among the students, rumor had it that the influence of the Seyfried Duke family was instrumental in bringing the internal factional dispute to an end.

”Dark Flame… So, they still have records of this utter nonsense lying around, huh? Honestly, I’m shocked. Right, Lala-chan?” I murmured, tilting my head.

”Yes, Shin-sama! This kind of fake record should be scrapped, desuwa! Scrapped!” Lala Eushuria Melektorc declared with a passionate fervor.

”Lala-chan is always so full of energy! I envy that,” I said with a soft smile.

”…Huh?! Shin-sama. Do you… wish to marry me?” she asked, her eyes going wide with instant hope.

”Nope. Didn’t say that. Don’t worry, I haven’t said a single word about it, so you can relax. Lala-chan, I’ve decided I’ll cherish you heroines, but I will absolutely not lay a hand on you. You can rest assured,” I explained gently.

”…Shin-sama. When shall we arrange the wedding night? I-Is it tonight?!” she gasped, leaning closer.

Yeah, three years have gone by, and Lala-chan still can’t seem to hold a coherent conversation with me.

I just remained silent and gently patted her head. Her behavior was just a little too painful to watch.

It’s already been three years since the disappearance of President Alice.

As the record I was just reading claimed, she did indeed vanish. Well, in reality, I just erased the monster—the Night Alice—that was targeting Alexia from this world.

And just like that, the disappearance of Student Council President Alice spread among the entire student body by the next morning. The Alys Magic Academy was thrown into total chaos—a continuous, nightly festival of panic.

During all the commotion, I got secretly… active, taking advantage of the turmoil to spread the traditional culture of the festivals I knew from my past life. Things like the Bon Odori¹.

At night, we’d all dance happily around a campfire with the students from the remedial class. That was really fun!

”Shin-sama. It is almost time for our outing, desuwa. We are going to the Syltia Territory today to search for that thing you mentioned, correct?” Lala prompted, her tone shifting to business.

”Hmm? Ah, yes. We’re searching for one of the Divine Artifacts, the ‘Scaly Orb of the Coiled Dragon’”, I confirmed.

”I wanna see Shin-kun…” Alexia whined from behind a tower of documents.

”Absolutely not. President Alexia, the seal please,” Lilith, the Student Council Secretary, sighed, pushing a document forward.

 ”…Okay. I wanna give Shin-kun a big hug!”

Stamp!

”Don’t be ridiculous. President Alexia, an innocent, naturally cheerful President like you should not be near a delinquent like him. The seal, if you please!” Yorn, the Student Council Vice-President, admonished formally.

 ”…Okay-okay!”

Stamp!

”It’s just ‘Okay,’ not ‘Okay-okay,’ President,” Mars, the General Affairs Officer, corrected sternly.

 ”…Okay!”

Stamp!

”A-Alexia-sama, it’s only for a little while longer! When night falls, Shin-sama will gently pat your head, so please be patient until then!” Layla, the Student Council Treasurer, pleaded softly.

”Shin-kun will pet me?! I-I understand! I’m going to finish this job of just stamping papers right now!” Alexia screamed with sudden energy.

Stamp! Stamp! Stamp!

”…Haaah. Was it really a good idea to force such a young girl into the presidency, even if it was under that wicked brat’s coercion, Lilith?” Yorn muttered to his colleague.

”We didn’t have a choice. If we hadn’t kept that promise, we would’ve been stuck wearing no underwear for the rest of our lives!” Lilith ground out, a shadow crossing her face.

(The Elder Council of the Albion Empire, Dragon Country)

In the Albion Empire, festivals and politics are customarily decided by the chiefs of each Dragon Kin tribe. However, the final judgment on all matters is decreed by a figure known as the Dragon Shrine Maiden.

 ”…”

”The battles with the Demon Country to the West are intensifying daily, but since the Hero Dragon Knight is present, we can buy some time,” declared one of the Elders.

”We have finally bought time from the Lax Empire to the South in the form of an alliance,” another Elder observed.

”Then the matter concerning the Eastern maritime nations can be postponed. For now, we shall provide aid; when they become useless, we shall simply discard them,” a third stated flatly.

”In that case, our immediate enemy is settled: the Regain Kingdom to the Southwest. We hear that the Seyfried Territory on their border has gained power so rapidly that it could potentially stand as an independent nation,” the Council Speaker announced.

”Indeed, but they will likely not seek independence; the Seyfried family has sworn absolute loyalty to the Regain Royal Family,” a fourth Elder pointed out.

”…If we cannot bring them to our side, then it will profit us greatly to make that bountiful land ours, for the Albion Empire’s gain,” the Council Speaker concluded, his voice heavy with calculation.

”Then let us prepare a strategy. We will form a superficial friendship, acquire a hostage from that nation, and use them to compel the Regain Kingdom to exchange the Seyfried Territory for their safe return.”

”Ah, Lord Luva, you have arrived,” one of the other Elders acknowledged.

”…Luva… (Someone, please help me. I’m going to be…)²” Yurize, the Dragon Shrine Maiden, thought frantically, utterly trapped in silent despair.

”Everything is for the sake of our Dragon Shrine Maiden… A necessary sacrifice for the prosperity of the Albion Empire. The Seyfried Territory has grown too prosperous. Let us make them the foundation for our own continued success,” Elder Luva, the Council Speaker, pronounced gravely.

 Notes/Endnotes

1 I’m not really sure if Bon Odori is something they actually have, but I’m just gonna run with it, lol. It’s a traditional Japanese dance, usually performed during the Obon festival, where people honor the spirits of their ancestors. It’s usually a pretty chill event, so the mental image of a bunch of kids in a magic school doing it doing it after a panic is kinda funny.

2 The internal thoughts of the Dragon Shrine Maiden are in the first-person ‘watashi’ and denote extreme mental distress and a feeling of being completely used as a political tool. The translation needed to capture the immediate, helpless panic.

Notes:

• Lala – Delusional saint candidate from the Lax Empire who becomes fanatically devoted to Shin, founding a religion in his name and often speaking with the quirky suffix ‘~desuwa’

• Albion Empire – A nation to the east of Regain where dragonkind is revered as divine. It is currently locked in “bloody, territorial chaos” with the new Demon King’s forces in Schwert.

• Scar Red – A monster-infested wasteland where Saghir Seyfried was found living with orcs, leading to his designation as a new monster species and subsequent vanquishing. Its dangerous reputation makes it a place of fear and exile on the kingdom’s fringe.

• Yorn – A maid who is easily delighted by Genkaku mushrooms (implied hallucinogenic). She informed Shin of the banquet.

• Right – An upperclassman frustrated with ten-year-old Alexia’s presidency who initially supported Lilith (‘Lili-tan’) for the role. He represents the ‘cute girl fetish’ faction, rips up the magic paper in anger, and engages in heated debates with Left about the academy’s bizarre political landscape and student obsessions.

• Night Alice – Hidden Gimmick Monster/Boss of the Maidens x Cross-dressing RPG, one of the founders of Alys Magic Academy. Hijacked the Mirror World (Wonderland) and ruled as the Student Council President. Her initial forms included Slaughter Doll and Alice Slaughter (centipede/alien).

• Lilith – The Student Council Secretary who works alongside Yorn and Mars, pushing documents for Alexia to stamp while sighing at the president’s distracted behavior. She references a past promise involving underwear.

• Mars – The stern General Affairs Officer of the Student Council who maintains discipline, corrects the president’s informal speech, and manages administrative duties.

• Luva – The cold, calculating Speaker of the Albion Empire’s Elder Council who proposes using political manipulation and hostages to acquire the prosperous Seyfried Territory.
