Chapter 64 The Clash of Light Sword and Flame Symphony A Villainous Heir’s Fateful Battle

A massive, hulking body, pale blue-green all over. All those scales were disgustingly shimmering. What in the world was this thing? And this monster—it had the nerve to claim it was an angel.
”An angel? Don’t make me laugh. It’s nothing but a damn beast. Fine then… Flame Dance Spiral!” Karentisia snarled.
”Naw, that’s awesome! You’re friggin’ amazing, Lady Kōkyō! What incredible power, I tell ya. With this strength, I can beat anyone, even one of Scarlet’s bloodline, can’t I? White Wings of the Water Play!” the creature roared.
Massive water bullets? My flames would vaporize every last one. “Ugh! You’re such a nuisance, honestly! Flame Bullet: Sheath!”
Their magical attacks collided, filling the air with a blinding blast of flames and a thick mist of evaporated steam. I’d use this chaos to my advantage.
”The stench! The stench of burning! My skin is scorching, ya hear? I was chosen by my Master. I have a special scent… don’t I?”
…A sudden, sharp THUD reverberated.
”Huh? Why is there a red sword sticking out of my chest?” the creature stammered.
”My apologies, but even if it’s withered, I won’t let you rampage through my garden any longer, would I? I’ll burn your very existence out. Black Flame Butterfly!” Karentisia declared.
”What? The water in my body is boiling… GYAAAAAH!” The water beast’s shrieks dissolved into the steam.
”Wait… did I just… lose consciousness for a second? And when did I actually win?” Karentisia mused, her voice thin.

(Regain Kingdom’s Southeast Soltina Territory)
”You really do live up to being a former teacher at Alys Magic Academy. Light Magic: Right Sword.”
We’d been fighting for a while, but this older woman was clearly just stalling.
”Ohohoho! Don’t underestimate the new me, ya hear! Construct Angel—Artificial Angel: Flame Light Wisdom (Uriel)!” Raichi cackled.
Was she suddenly wrapped in fire? Wings of flame and a fiery whip—she’d turned into some kind of perverted monstrosity?
”You have touched the world’s forbidden arts, Lax Empire! Light Magic: Flash Strike!”
Flash Strike was several times more powerful than Right Sword… I channeled the slashing force of the Sacred Artifact, my Princess’s Silver Blade, and unleashed it with full momentum.
”Hmmmm? Oh my, oh my, oh my, oh my? Ms. Karentisia, doesn’t that silver dagger look suspicious? Fiery Thorn Whip!” Raichi taunted.
”Suspicious? Former teacher Raichi, what in the world are you talking about?”
Flaming thorns shaped like rose vines rushed at me. I dealt with them using a divine-speed flurry of my sword. Even so, former teacher Raichi’s words were really bothering me. Was there something wrong with my Princess’s Silver Blade?
”A focused strike… Light Magic: Right Greatsword!”
I rapidly expanded my Sacred Artifact, the Princess’s Silver Blade, and thrust it with full force toward Raichi’s fiery monstrosity.
”It’s useless! Utterly, utterly useless, that’s a fake, ya know! How pathetic that you’ve only got eyes that can’t even see that, poor little girl! I pity you, I really do… Conflagration Rose!” Raichi snickered.
”What? My Princess’s Silver Blade is fake? What are you actually saying? Even I, who never gets mad, am getting angry now. Light Magic: Silver Slash!”
I didn’t have time to listen to former teacher Raichi’s nonsense. That last comment was definitely a trap to rattle me. And Raichi has probably only recently been consecrated by the Mad Kingdom of Lax—if that’s the case, even the current me can defeat her. The attacks are still cancelling each other out, somehow. I just need to overwhelm her with sheer force.
”I’m going to beat you quickly, catch up to Lala before she enters the Lax Empire, defeat this Sid guy, and return to Alys Magic Academy. Light Magic: Right Javelin!”
”That’s pointless! Pointless! Pointless, pointless, pointless! The Albion Empire’s power, which kept the Lax Empire in check, has been weakened, ya see. In a few more days, the Saintess will be sacrificed in the Holy City, and the True Heavenly Messenger will descend! This world will fall back into chaos! Conflagration Spear Shot!” Raichi shrieked.
…What? Where did this impossible power come from? A massive spear of flame covered the whole area. Raichi shouldn’t possess this much power yet.
”Damn it! I completely underestimated former teacher Raichi’s growth speed. This attack is a disaster scale!”
”If you can’t even push back this much power, then I can’t let the precious student of Alys Magic Academy go into the cursed Lax Empire, Ms. Karentisia.”
”Tch! I have no choice! Sacred Artifact Release: Princess’s Silver Blade—True Spiral Flash!”
A sharp crack rang out! …Then a snapping sound echoed! A crack appeared on the blade of the Princess’s Silver Blade… The elven royal sword was breaking.
”No… how is that possible?! You can’t get that much power from a fake Sacred Artifact! YOU CAAAAN’T!” Raichi screamed.
A loud SNAP followed by a shattering BLAST!
Ah, the Princess’s Silver Blade was completely destroyed… This meant I was out of the elven royalty’s succession race. Half of the shattered blade’s fragments flew toward the floating fire magic in the sky, and the other half shot toward former teacher Raichi simultaneously, unleashing…
”Explode! You phony Heavenly Messenger! Right Blast!”
”GYAAAAAH! [GYAAAAAAAH!]”
I heard the screams of former teacher Raichi and the bizarre shadow. A massive explosion erupted, and then former teacher Raichi was sent flying high into the sky toward the west.
”I… I somehow won… I completely misjudged former teacher Raichi’s strength… didn’t I…”
This was bad. At this rate, I was going to collapse right here on the ground.
‘KyūLala~!’
Why was a rare Fire Dragon (Haial Drago) here? Was it going to eat me? No… I didn’t have the strength to escape right now…
”Karentisia-chan! You have to stay strong!” Alexia cried out.
”Lady Karen! We will treat your wounds now, please hold on!” Layla pleaded.
”Alexia and Layla… why are you two here?”
”We followed Shin! We came to rescue Lala-chan!” Alexia explained.
”Yes. We apologize for being late.” Layla added.
Ah, my loyal dog. She actually came. That’s good…
”I see… then we’ll be fine. Because my loyal dog will… retrieve Lala.”

(Three Days Later: Sera Border Gate Between Regain Kingdom and Lax Empire)
”Are you sure it was wise to leave them with that young Fire Dragon?” a low voice queried.
”It’s safer than being in the Lax Empire’s Holy City before I sink it. Safer to be outside for now.”
”I see. More importantly, it seems we were a step too late, Master,” the voice observed.
”Lala-chan is gone… The gate to the Lax Empire is opening. Well then, Fenrir (Female), let’s break through the gate and enter the Lax Empire.”
”Understood… but there’s something strange in front of the gate.”
”…Why are the Five Great Fairies (Elements) here? Are No. 7 Kimberlee and the worthless witch No. 8 (Raichi) defeated?”
(The character Sid is the Holy Sword No. 2 of the Eight Holy Cardinals of the Lax Church.)
”Ah, that must be Sid, one of the people who will lead the Lax Empire to ruin… Well, that’s convenient. Let’s defeat him and move forward. Schuna-chan, Yuna-chan.”
As he announced this, the erotic sisters of the Shin-kyō (Religion of Shin) appeared from his shadow, wearing their monastic robes (robes that are wise and yet lewd).
…A dragging sound filled the air!
”…To suddenly pit us against Mr. Sid right off the bat… aren’t you cruel, Shin-sama?” Schuna pouted.
”Well, I’m still really happy to be given a chance to defeat Sid, though,” Yuna added.
”Wha—?! No. 3 Schuna and No. 4 Yuna… Did you bastards betray us?” Sid bellowed.

The appearance of the Shin-kyō sisters and the Holy Sword Sid sets up the next major conflict, indicating that Karentisia’s victory over Raichi was just the start of the challenge, not the end.

• Right – An upperclassman frustrated with ten-year-old Alexia’s presidency who initially supported Lilith (‘Lili-tan’) for the role. He represents the ‘cute girl fetish’ faction, rips up the magic paper in anger, and engages in heated debates with Left about the academy’s bizarre political landscape and student obsessions.
• Lala – Delusional saint candidate from the Lax Empire who becomes fanatically devoted to Shin, founding a religion in his name and often speaking with the quirky suffix ‘~desuwa’
• Albion Empire – A nation to the east of Regain where dragonkind is revered as divine. It is currently locked in ‘bloody, territorial chaos’ with the new Demon King’s forces in Schwert.
• Haial Drago – True ancestor fire dragon, one of the Five Purple Dragons, a guardian at important ceremonies.
• Yuna – female of high religious/political standing, specifically holding the title of High Priestess and being one of the Eight Sacred Lords of the Lax Church. Her outer appearance is suggested by the fact that her opponent, Yuriyuri, was wearing her stolen nun’s habit after the confrontation. Her role as an intruder in the Seyfried Territory led to her defeat and capture by her adversary, Yuriyuri.
