Volume 4 Chapter 18 Beauty Dungeon’s Grand Fantasy Liberation and Chaotic Debut

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

It was the final days of April, right on the cusp of Golden Week. Inside the ‘Master Room,’ Hirose and the others were gathered, waiting with held breath for the final, critical moment: the official liberation of their finished ‘Beauty Dungeon.’

The moment of truth was set for noon. By summoning the massive Gate near the Tamagawa River, the Adventurer Guild Association’s magic detectors—set up across the entire region—would immediately sense the colossal influx of power, thus announcing the dungeon’s presence to the world.

They had already given Hidou Genroku, who was Kirino’s grandfather, a heads-up. Per their agreement, the moment the dungeon appeared, the information would be posted on the exclusive adventurer-only website, a formal announcement that the ‘Beauty Dungeon’ was finally ready for its first challenge.

”Oh, my heart’s pounding, like, so fast…” Kirino exclaimed, bouncing on the balls of her feet.

”But, I mean, we’re just watching now. There’s nothing left for us to actually do, right?”.

For nearly four weeks, they had been brainstorming, planning, and building this entire structure—the ‘Beauty Dungeon.’ Seeing the dungeon they had designed become a reality was a feeling utterly beyond words. Hirose, who’d once dreamed of being an adventurer himself before a meager Gift changed his path, felt a profound thrill. Fate, in a strange twist, had brought him back to the adventurer world, just in a different role. Being involved at all made him happy, so this pure, buzzing excitement was totally natural.

”—It appears the time has arrived, Master,” Ecoa confirmed, its voice flat and procedural.

And just like that, the moment was upon them. Ecoa checked the clock showing twelve o’clock precisely and raised a hand over a completely empty space.

”Alright, do your thing,” Hirose directed.

”Yes, Master. Opening the Gate now,” Ecoa responded.

Operating something invisible with its raised hand, Ecoa commanded the system. On the monitor, the digital representation of the dungeon’s first floor shimmered as the massive Gate materialized.

”—Emergency! We’ve detected an enormous magic signature near Tamagawa in Tama City! This is… it’s the exact same response as the previous mega-Gate!” a flustered administrator reported, pointing frantically at a huge, map-displaying screen inside the Adventurer Guild Association headquarters, the ‘Dungeon Gate Management Office’.

 ”Chairman! This signal is—”

”Yes, I know,” Hidou Genroku, standing behind the man, cut him off with a gravelly, authoritative voice. “Release the information. Immediately.”

Just as Kirino had told him, the order was not to keep the dungeon a secret this time, but to immediately announce its details on the exclusive adventurer website. About ten minutes later, the location of the newly appeared Gate was officially posted.

The dark, underground bulletin boards frequented by adventurers were instantly abuzz. The sudden appearance of a new Dungeon Gate had created a huge stir.

And why wouldn’t it? The information that had just been released was completely unlike anything they’d ever seen.

’Whoa! A Gate in Tama City!’

’What?! The rank is F to S…? What in the world does that mean?’

’Holy cow. Is the rank variable? I’ve never heard of a dungeon like this!’

’But what if it just connects to an S-Rank floor right away…?’

’The Adventurer Guild wouldn’t announce it if that was the case. They’d have a warning.’

’Then it must be a dungeon where the rank goes up the deeper you go!’

The adventurers pored over the posted information, launching into intense speculation. Normally, a dungeon’s rank was a single, clear designation. Adventurers chose their challenges based on that rank. But the unprecedented ‘F to S’ rank displayed here was enough to genuinely shock them all.

”—Alright, everyone! A new dungeon has appeared! We’re moving out!” a young girl’s shrill, commanding voice echoed through the massive Tokyo estate.

This was the estate of the Amano Group, which owned ‘Sword Axe Corporation,’ a major player specializing in dungeon weapon manufacturing and sales. They had made a fortune since the dungeons first appeared and were even a trading partner of Kirino’s father’s company.

Inside, the girl commanded the five adventurers she had hired.

”Kirari-sama, the reports say the rank is ‘F to S,’ and the details are unclear. Are we sure this is safe?” one of the hired hands hesitantly asked.

”I don’t care!” Kirari insisted, her face framed by her trademark long, golden hair styled into rigid, perfect twin drills. “To reach an even higher rank, I must be the very first person to conquer a new dungeon and seize all the valuable items inside! As long as it’s a dungeon we can enter, I’m going in!”

This was Amano Kirari, seventeen, daughter of the Amano Group chairman and a B-Rank adventurer. She had formed her own ‘Kirari Squad Guild’ and, through the sheer power of her family’s money, had shot up to B-Rank in just one year, riding the coattails of her mercenaries.

Upon her command, she and her five hired adventurers geared up—she in her high-end, flimsy-looking, but Effect-laden gear, and they in their brand-new, shimmering weapons and armor provided by her. They sped off immediately to the Tamagawa Gate, determined to be the first to arrive.

”Wha—what is this place…?!” Kirari gasped as they reached the riverside.

She was stunned. Normally, a dungeon Gate was only just big enough for a single person to walk through. But the Gate that had appeared at Tamagawa was enormous, spanning nearly five meters both vertically and horizontally.

 ”The magic… it’s overwhelming…”.

Anyone with a shred of magical sense could tell: the power surging from this Gate was completely abnormal. A torrent of magic was churning and vortexing from the massive portal.

”Ngh! We cannot afford to lose our nerve! Let’s go!” she commanded.

 ”Understood!” the team affirmed.

Kirari’s personal armor was all top-grade, thin, and expensive fabric, but infused with powerful magical Effects. The five hired adventurers also carried high-quality, gleaming new equipment. Kirari and her six-person team stepped through the Gate.

”—This is quite the surprise… to enter the Gate and find eight more doors waiting for us… it’s clearly not normal,” Kirari observed, taking in the small, enclosed room that greeted them, a stark contrast to the usual wide-open caves or natural landscapes of other dungeons.

She approached the farthest door to the right and noticed a small box installed right beside it.

”Huh… five hundred yen¹? Is that an entrance fee? …It truly is. It seems the door is locked until we pay.”

She tried the door, but it was firmly sealed. With no keyhole in sight, she quickly realized the mechanism required payment to unlock. “Kirari-sama, this dungeon almost looks like something humans built,” one of her large adventurers noted.

”Indeed… this mechanism requiring five hundred yen is completely unprecedented! Very well. Put the fee in for our entire team,” Kirari ordered.

 ”Right away!”

With that, the Kirari team paid for six people—three thousand yen total. The moment the money was inserted, when Kirari touched the doorknob again, it twisted open.

”Now, then, everyone—we’re going in!!” Kirari announced with a flourish.

”Yes, ma’am!” her squad bellowed back in unison.

With great fanfare, the Kirari team opened the door and stepped through.

 ”Huh?”

But the moment they did, chaos erupted.

”Aaaaah!?! Stop, it’s a sloooooope!” Kirari shrieked in horror.

As soon as they put their weight down, the floor became a steep decline, sending every single person sliding uncontrollably.

”K-Kirari-sama—!?!” her henchmen cried, unable to grab anything.

What’s worse, the slope was coated in a slimy, semi-transparent pink liquid, making it impossible to stop. The disgusting substance clung to their bodies, coating their expensive, shining armor and even smearing all over their faces, turning their perfect, expensive appearance into a gooey, slimy mess.

”Gah-haaah!?! It’s not stopping! What in the world is this stufffff?!” Kirari screamed, her drill hair becoming absolutely drenched and ruined.

”Aha ha ha ha ha ha! The Lotion Strategy is a total win, yo!” Hibiki guffawed in the Master Room, clutching her stomach as she watched the live feed on the monitor.

 Summary:

The long-awaited ‘Beauty Dungeon’ finally goes live, marked by a massive surge of magic and an unprecedented ‘F to S’ variable rank, sending shockwaves through the adventurer community. While the creators watch excitedly from the Master Room, the arrogant B-Rank adventurer Amano Kirari rushes in, determined to claim the first dungeon treasure.

However, her high-stakes greed quickly turns into slapstick comedy when the first room demands an entrance fee and the door opens onto a slippery, slime-coated lotion slope, ruining her expensive armor and confidence in a hilarious, gooey ambush. The grand debut is off to a chaotic, unexpected start!

 Character Insight:

Hirose’s quiet excitement reveals his deep, personal connection to the adventurer fantasy, even though he’s now on the planning side. His satisfaction at seeing the project launch contrasts sharply with the frantic panic it causes the Guild Administration.

Most vividly, Amano Kirari’s overconfidence, fueled by wealth and a demand for status, leads directly to her immediate, humiliating downfall, proving that not even the most expensive gear can bypass a good lotion trap.

 —

 Behind the Scene:

The launch was a success, starting exactly on time at noon as planned by the team. The immediate and overwhelming magic surge confirmed the sheer power of the Beauty Dungeon, which was necessary to get the attention of the Adventurer Guild Association.

The planning team’s unconventional traps, such as the initial paid entry and the Lotion Slope, were designed to eliminate arrogant or underprepared adventurers like Kirari right from the start, prioritizing unique challenges over traditional combat.

1 [Five hundred yen is a common value for a smaller fee in Japan, roughly equivalent to a few dollars, which adds to the absurdity of the ‘dungeon entrance fee.’]

Notes:

• Genroku – Kirino’s grandfather (M, 74yo, short white hair, 182cm), president of the Adventurer Guild. Though intimidating, he is deeply caring for Kirino, protecting her throughout the narrative. His body looks much younger and is absurdly muscular, causing his suit to strain. He is fiercely, boisterously affectionate towards his granddaughter. He causes a major scene when he sees Kirino.

• Kirino – Strikingly beautiful with blue long hair (F, 168cm), Kirino is gifted with ice magic and feels isolated because of her appearance. Hirose’s Beauty skill helps her improve her self-image and social comfort, directly affecting Kirino’s relationship with her family and classmates.

• Ecoa – The Guardian of the Dungeon Core, a beautiful entity with long blonde hair, slit eyes, and distinctive pointed ears reminiscent of an elf. She initially appears in black ceremonial robes, which instantly transform into a revealing, classic black maid uniform. Her existence was previously undetectable by ‘Appraisal’ Gifts. Her sole purpose is to serve and support the Dungeon Master, Hirose.

• Amano Kirari – The daughter of the Amano Group’s chairman, a major player in the dungeon weapon industry. She’s a B-Rank adventurer who bought her way to the top with high-end gear and a team of hired adventurers called the ‘Kirari Squad Guild.’ Her appearance is defined by her long blonde twin drill-haired style, small, childish. Looks like classic ojou-sama.

• Rio – A member of the Beauty Committee who previously worked with Hirose and already holds a negative opinion of him, seeing him as a ‘playboy.’ She has short dark hair and is dressed neatly in her school uniform. She is Aoi’s friend and is currently determined to ‘rescue’ her.
