Chapter 1 The Labyrinth King’s Royal Concubine and the Weight of an Isekai Conquest
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”………!”
The opulent bedchamber was filled with the trembling breaths of a beautiful, golden-haired woman. Her finely sculpted face spoke of dignity and noble birth, and her bearing was flawlessly regal. She was, without a doubt, a royal princess. And that same high-born woman now knelt before me, her proud head bowed low, accepting my absolute authority.
This simple, brutal fact—that a princess from another world had been brought to her knees and completely conquered by a man they would have called rock-bottom scum—sent a surge of intense excitement and conquering desire through me. On either side of her, two more beautiful women were slumped in exhausted submission, their eyes glazed with awe. Both of them bore the glowing crest of fealty on their foreheads, and their bodies still trembled from the overwhelming pressure of my dominion. That’s right. Tonight, I had already bound the souls of two women to mine, and now, the third knelt awaiting the same fate.
With my Dominator (Queste) Level now high, my presence felt far stronger than it ever did when I was living my miserable life in Japan. Driven by the high, I seized the royal circlet from Princess Cleonora’s head and held it aloft, forcing her to gaze upon the symbol of everything she was about to lose.
”Ah… nnngh… Is it coming…!?” she whispered, her voice breaking with fear and reverence. “Your power, Shoichi… it’s… trembling through the air…!?”
”Aah…! I am going to brand you… right now!” I declared.
”Hauuuugh…! Y-Yes, please… please do it! Engrave your crest upon my very soul… nngh!? B-Bind me forever with your mighty will, my lord Shoichi… everything!” she pleaded, tears of surrender in her eyes.
”………ngh!”
Cleonora’s royal aura began to flicker and yield, trying to merge with the overwhelming pressure I radiated. I pressed my hand to her forehead and channeled my dominion directly into the core of her being.
”Ngh!?”
There was no resistance left—this was pure, unadulterated conquest of will between sovereign and subject. Leaning forward, I forced her to meet my gaze as tightly as chains, letting my oppressive presence completely envelop her trembling spirit. The sheer elation of knowing I was about to claim this noble bloodline with my own savage authority was overwhelming. My gathered power raced through my arm, expanding as it sought its final target. And then, in a tight convulsion of her aura within my grasp, the crest upon my palm flared, burning an overwhelming mark of eternal loyalty into her soul.
”Aah… N-Ngh! Aaaaaahhhhhh—!? I-It’s burning… inside my soul…!? Nyaaaaaaahhhhhh—!! It’s so… deep inside my very existence… that searing brand!” she cried out.
”………Kuh!”
As if to aid me, Cleonora’s remaining pride shattered completely, her will narrowing into perfect obedience. Urged on by her surrender, I poured the full weight of my dominion into her core, marking her forever as mine. No matter how mercilessly I crushed her former status, she continued to accept it all.
”Hauuuuuugh…! I-It’s still spreading…”
While the wave of my triumph was still washing over me, I released her forehead at last. We remained in that heavy, unbreakable hierarchy as she pressed her forehead to the floor in oath-sealed devotion.
”Mmh… my lord…”
As her trembling voice swore eternal fealty, Cleonora wrapped her shaking hands around my boots in submission. The closeness of sovereign and thrall intensified, and she repeatedly kissed the ground before me, offering the tribute of a broken crown. Below, her pride lay shattered; above, her gaze never dared rise higher than my feet. I couldn’t help but wonder how I, a man who had absolutely zero worth in the eyes of the world back in Japan, had ended up like this.
Now, I’m called the King of the Labyrinth, and this forest, which started as a single little hut, has grown into a vast manor and farmlands. The mansion is home to numerous devoted vassals and concubines of the court, and I have a large number of combat-ready maids. At this point, no single nation could easily threaten this territory of mine. The reason a man who had nothing in Japan could rise to this level? It all started when a certain fairy—a fairy? Well, when that fairy-like girl took an interest in me.
As the oppressive aura that had enveloped Cleonora finally settled into the permanent crest glowing upon her skin, I fell into a satisfied daze, remembering my time working those part-time jobs in Japan.
* * *
”I’m… wiped out…”
The sun wasn’t up yet, but the black night sky was gradually turning blue. I was walking back to my apartment after finishing the graveyard shift. I’d forgotten my phone at home today, so I couldn’t check the exact time. But the first train was definitely running, and people were starting to move around.

”Sigh… How much longer am I going to keep living this kind of life?” I muttered.
I’d failed my college entrance exams, and my parents had eventually kicked me out, telling me to finally stand on my own two feet. Ever since then, I, Shimizu Shoichi, had been living alone in a 50-year-old, one-room apartment, barely scraping by with part-time work. How many years had it been since that started? I figured my old classmates were all holding down regular jobs now, paying their taxes, and acting like respectable members of society.
I wasn’t wallowing in self-pity, honestly. I just didn’t think I was cut out for a regular company job anyway. But sometimes, I still thought about it: wasn’t this daily grind, this constant struggle to survive through part-time work, just a way of wasting my life without any purpose?.
”I guess you could call it… emptiness.”
Lost in thought, I reached a giant bridge. Cross this, and I’d be close to home. I could crash as soon as I got back, maybe take a shower first. As I kept walking, lost in these plans, I started hearing voices arguing ahead.
”……?”
I looked up. In the middle of the bridge, a man and a woman were shouting at each other. The guy looked like a host-club worker or gigolo, and the girl was clearly a gal¹, making a huge scene.
(Ugh… Why are they having a screaming match right here?).
There were railings on this bridge’s sidewalk to keep pedestrians from falling onto the road, and the walkway wasn’t exactly wide. I’d have to walk right past the two of them. But I’d come too far now; turning back would be a heavy burden. On top of that, I was worn out from the night shift and just wanted to go home and rest.
(Guess I’ve got no choice…)
I made up my mind to just hurry past them. I even wondered if a real Admiral ever had to make such a tough decision. I quickened my pace, thinking this foolish thought.
”How much money do you think I’ve loaned you, Takashi!? I told you to pay it back already!” the woman shrieked.
”Huh? I’m telling you to just lend me another hundred grand so I can pay it back, ain’t I!? Why can’t you get that through your thick skull, huh? You’re such an idiot!” the man, Takashi, hissed, his voice slurring.
It was a money dispute, clearly. Judging by his face, the guy was totally drunk. They were both completely focused on each other and didn’t seem to notice me at all. I prayed silently that nothing would happen as I came closer. Right as I was about to pass them, the man suddenly blew up.
”Aghh—this is so annoying! If you ain’t got the cash, don’t talk to me!” he roared.
”Wait…! I knew you were an idiot, but this is a new low! Fine, I’ll tell Akemi all about this,” she retorted.
”Haaah? Why are you dragging Akemi into this!?” Takashi demanded.
”Akemi and I are classmates. Didn’t you know? You just met her parents, right? What do you think she’ll do when she hears you’re a piece of trash who borrows money from other women and can’t pay it back? Even an idiot like you must know the answer to that, huh?”.
It seemed Takashi was serious about Akemi. Frankly, I was more impressed by Akemi’s tolerance for dating a guy like Takashi. The drama was intriguing, but it wasn’t my business. I planned to slip past them and be gone… but Takashi’s rage intensified.
”You… you little bitch!” he snarled.
”Bugh!?”
”Guh!?”
His face twisted in fury, and Takashi swung at the woman. She collapsed right where she stood. Then, Takashi started kicking her.
”You! Fucking! Bitch!” he screamed.
The woman curled up, trying to shield herself. But Takashi seemed to get even more hyped up by his own violence, and his kicks became faster and more brutal.
(Th-This… This isn’t good, is it?)
Seriously, Takashi’s eyes were bugging out—he was completely cracked. At this rate, he might actually beat the woman to death.
(If that happens, the police will investigate this time and place thoroughly. They’ll check the security cameras everywhere and find out I was crossing this bridge.).
And then, they’d ask me, ‘What were you doing at that time?’ If I answered, ‘Nothing, I just walked by,’ the victim or her family might sue me. Even if I wasn’t sued, my name could end up in the tabloids, the newspapers, and all over the internet. I’d be paraded as the cold-hearted bastard who ignored a woman being attacked and left her to die. After that, I couldn’t walk in the sunlight anymore. When I went to the convenience store, the clerk would scan my items, thinking, ‘Oh, that’s the guy who watched a woman get murdered.’
Up-and-coming YouTubers would probably ambush me for an interview. And I was sure the convenience store clerk would gladly give up my sightings. A heartless cold-blooded man has no right to privacy, right?. Naturally, I’d lose my part-time job. Then, sooner or later, I’d be crushed by poverty, and my life, which was already on the decline, would truly be over.
(Th-That’s bad!)
After instantly calculating the risks of letting the woman die, I rushed forward and bear-hugged Takashi from behind.
”Agh!?”
”C-Calm down…! Please, you need to calm down…!” I pleaded.
”The hell are you, huh!? Don’t touch me! You wanna get yourself fucking killed, ah!?” he slurred, violently.
H-He’s so scary! But I was already involved. There was no turning back now.
”Calm down, just calm down…!” I insisted.
”Shut up! An outsider ain’t got no right to butt in!” he demanded.
Even drunk, Takashi’s strength, fueled by his rage buff, was considerable. He easily shook off my hug and turned to punch me.
”Ow!?”
”You…! You ugly bastard don’t touch me!” he spat.
Despite being punched, I managed to reach out and grab Takashi’s arm. We started to struggle on the bridge. Then, I heard him scream.
”This… is so FUCKING ANNOYING—!”
”Wha—Waaaaaahhhhh!?”
Something happened. Before I knew it, I was being pushed off the bridge. I was falling from a great height toward the water.
(I’m going to die…! This is… I’m going to dieeeeee!).
I’d hit the water back-first in a few seconds. And I couldn’t swim at all. Even if I survived the impact, my heavy, waterlogged clothes and the freezing water would drain my strength and body heat. I could only see a future where I’d die before reaching the shore.
(Ah… Is this it… for my life?)
It was a life with no production, and no one would truly be sad that I was gone. But at least, at the very end, I managed to save that woman, right? Surely, Takashi wouldn’t continue beating her after throwing someone off a bridge… he wouldn’t, right? Maybe, I could find some meaning in my life with that final act… Thinking that, I closed my eyes. That’s when my back slammed into the water.
(…………!!!!??)
I’d expected agonizing pain, maybe even broken bones. But my body passed through the water with zero resistance, still falling straight down.
(Wh-What’s going on…!?)
I was definitely submerged, yet my falling speed hadn’t changed. I just kept dropping, faster and faster.
(No, the river isn’t this deep! What the hell is happening… wait, my breath! I can’t… I can’t breathe!).
How much farther would I fall? My arms and legs thrashed, but I couldn’t displace any water. But then, after just a few more seconds, it stopped.
”Adah!?”
This time, I hit something hard with my back, and the fall ceased. But I shouldn’t have been able to make a sound. You can’t speak underwater. I could breathe, too. None of it made any sense. But the confusion was just getting started.
”Wha… Only one person was summoned, not through the magic circle, but fell from the sky!?” a voice cried out.
I could hear other people speaking. How could there be air and human voices where I should have hit the water? Puzzled, I pushed myself up.
”Hee…”
”How… unsightly.”
”He looks like some kind of man-shaped monster.”
Looking around only confused me further. The floor, the walls, and the ceiling were all made of massive stonework inside a huge building. I was surrounded by people dressed in armor and weapons. Next to me, four other young men and women stood with surprised expressions. On the floor, a Magic Circle, just like you’d see in anime or manga, was glowing.
”Eh… Eh…?”
The Magic Circle faded completely after a few seconds. Then, the incredibly beautiful woman standing in front of us spoke.
”We performed the Hero Summoning, and four heroes appeared… but then a soaking wet man appeared directly above the summoning circle?”.
She was a beautiful woman with blonde hair and blue eyes—clearly not Japanese. Her clothes were also clearly not modern. And with her words, I suddenly grasped the general situation.
(This… This couldn’t be… The rumored Isekai Hero Summoning!).
I’d read novels about this a few times. I never thought I’d be the one involved, though.
”P-Princess. What should we do…?”
”F-First, we should explain the situation. Heroes, please, would you kindly come over here?”.
I looked beside me, and the four young men and women nodded to each other.
”I was just on the train a minute ago…”
”I don’t even know what’s going on…”
”Let’s just hear them out for now.”
”Y-Yes… I guess so.”.
They looked like high school or college students. They were confused, but just like that, we all gathered to listen to the woman they called the Princess.

Summary:
Experience the intense duality of Shimizu Shoichi, the former Japanese freeter who has now conquered a royal princess in a world of erotic fantasy and magical dominion. The scene shifts abruptly from his dominant, passionate moment of climax with the golden-haired Cleonora, to the bleak, exhausting memory of his prior life.
Follow Shoichi’s lonely walk home across a foreboding bridge after a grueling night shift, only for his cynical apathy to be violently shattered by a street confrontation over money, forcing a moment of heroic action—a final, selfless choice that hurtles him not into the cold river, but into a Hero Summoning disaster and the start of his unexpected new, dark fantasy life.
—
Character Insight:
Shimizu Shoichi’s internal monologue highlights the deep, cynical emptiness of his former life, providing a strong contrast to his current position as the King of the Labyrinth and a dominant conqueror. His need to help the woman on the bridge isn’t pure heroism, but a calculated risk to avoid the social ruin and cold-hearted judgment he feared in Japan. This underlying motive suggests that his powerful, new life is less about heroism and more about escaping the shame and low self-esteem of his past, making his conquest of beautiful women a form of overcompensation for his previous loneliness.
—
Behind the Scene:
The author, Nekomiko Zucchini, is introducing a new long-running fantasy with a distinct harem focus. The key challenge and driving force is the contrast between the protagonist’s past life as a virgin, jobless man and his new status as a powerful, sexually active Isekai King with a record number of heroines. The chapter uses the summoning as a sudden, dramatic transition (the fall from the sky) to immediately kick off the dark fantasy and erotica elements, setting up a story focused on conquest and dominance.

T/L:
1 [Gyaru is a Japanese fashion subculture. In this context, it refers to a fashionable, typically young woman known for trendy makeup, hair, and sometimes a confrontational or outspoken attitude.] ↩
Notes:
• Ami – A palm-sized fairy-like being from a world separate from both Earth and the isekai realm. She has light blue hair tied in a ponytail, mischievous blue eyes, and tiny wings that flutter behind her. Her outfit consists of a provocative high-cut leotard and a short jacket that looks like a miniskirt from the back, leaving her legs bare. Despite her playful appearance, she is actively searching for a contractor who can protect her from dangerous pursuers in exchange for the powers she offers.
• Shimizu Shoichi – A plain, middle-aged Japanese man with short black hair and brown eyes. He looks worn-out and ordinary. Average build, average height, standing looks like Satoru Mikami from certain series.
