Chapter 39 Zealous Testimonies and the D✱✱do-Buddy Mandate
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”First, may I ask the Garou Merchant Guild to speak?” the Chairman mused.
”Of course, Chairman. I am Ouka of the Garou Merchant Guild. Kento-dono, please remember me from now on,” the man replied with formal dignity.
”Yes. I look forward to it.”
The man who rose at the Chairman’s direct request was a handsome, middle-aged fellow with gray wolf ears standing sharply erect. The Garou Merchant Guild, if I recalled correctly, was famous for leather goods. They were a well-known, high-end brand that also dealt in accessories, though I’d never had much to do with them. They were definitely a major player.
”It’s a bit embarrassing to admit, but my daughter here has long suffered from the ‘heat cycle’. No ordinary artificial phallus could withstand her fervor, and she found herself constantly seeking men’s bodies. Elis, are you able to speak in front of everyone?”
”Yes, Father. I would like to tell everyone what has happened to me,” Elis announced, rising at her father’s urging. She was a composed and dignified woman with wolf ears very much like Ouka’s. She didn’t look at all like someone who was ‘chasing men’. She seemed more like the type who’d declare, “I hate men!”
In her hand, she held what appeared to be her personal ‘Tremble Ddo-Buddy’. Since I certainly hadn’t sold one to such a young lady, I figured Ouka must have instructed a servant to buy it. Elis raised it high, like a banner, and declared with fervent passion.
”I, I have always been unable to control the intense fervor of the ‘heat cycle’. Ever since I first experienced it, I have never once managed to suppress that impulse. Furthermore, even when I wasn’t in ‘heat,’ I would desperately chase after males, seeking that pleasure… that is, until I met this child! The relief this ‘John-kun’ has brought me is immeasurable!”
”J-‘John-kun’…?” I thought, slightly stunned.
”That is his name! This child is no longer just an artificial phallus! He is my beloved, beloved ‘John-kun’! Since I met him, I have finally been able to be myself. I truly wish that many young females, females who suffer from the ‘heat cycle’ just as I did, will meet the ‘Tremble Ddo-Buddy’ and be saved! I implore you all, please give us your endorsement!!!”
With that, Elis concluded her testimony. She sat back down with her spine straight, her wolf ears powerfully upright, and the eyes of a warrior, clutching her beloved ‘John-kun’ to her chest. The men looked a little taken aback, but the women were nodding heartily, some even shedding tears.
”W-well, Ouka-dono, and Elis-jou, thank you for your valuable testimony. Is there anyone else who can testify?” Chromans asked, stroking his impressive beard.
”Yes!”
The woman who raised her hand with the force of an uncoiling spring had dull yellow hair and the ears of a large feline. Judging by her tail, she was likely a Lion Beast-person. But what was more striking was that she was wearing armor and had a large scar over her right eye.
”Oh, oh, Captain Merluza of the Royal Guard. You too will testify for us?”
”Yes, Chairman Chromans. I will testify as the Captain of the Royal Guard, and as a veteran of military service. As you know, many female Beast-persons serve in my unit.”
”Indeed. It is only natural, as they guard the Queen’s Majesty.”
”Yes, but because of that, our security shifts were constantly being disrupted by the ‘heat cycle’, which caused endless headaches. Since the release of the ‘Tremble Ddo-Buddy,’ however, they can find release quickly and dedicate themselves entirely to their duties!”
”Oh, that is wonderful!”
”This appears to be the case in other units as well. The ‘Tremble Ddo-Buddy’ has begun to spread among the Guard units, the Military Police, and even the Knight Orders. Especially since a ‘heat cycle’ during a long expedition is a disaster, we expect it to be invaluable in the field.”
”Hmm, that makes sense,” the Chairman acknowledged.
Both Captain Merluza and Chairman Chromans seemed well-versed in military matters, nodding to each other as their conversation continued. My own understanding was vague, but I remembered that the police and military organizations weren’t separated in this country.
In my old world, the Guard units were like beat cops, the Military Police were detectives, the Royal Guard was like the Presidential Security, and the Knights were the specialized war soldiers. Merluza’s tone suggested she’d been pulled from the Knight Order into the Royal Guard.
In any case, the ‘Tremble Ddo-Buddy’ was highly regarded even in the military. This was going to be a huge boost for us. As I was thinking this, Merluza’s voice rose, and she brandished her Ddo-Buddy high.

”Most importantly! My ‘Bob’ is not a bad boy! Though we haven’t been acquainted long, please know how much he has saved me! You must fully understand this!”
”W-well… I understand, I understand, so please stop swinging ‘Bob’ around like that…” the Chairman pleaded.
”My apologies, I became impassioned,” Merluza responded, sitting down.
Like Elis, Captain Merluza sat with the eyes of a warrior. The women were now looking at them with envy, and the men were starting to break out in a cold sweat, visibly intimidated. I had wondered how someone in the position of Royal Guard Captain had managed to rush here so quickly, but conversely, it meant she took this issue with the utmost seriousness.
”My ‘Allen’ is a good boy, too!!!” cried one woman.
”And my ‘Elio’!!!” another called out.
”P-please calm yourselves. Does anyone else wish to speak? Please raise your hand when you do!”
Many hands shot up, and women came forward one after another to give their testimony. Some were composed and dignified, others looked shy. The one thing they all had in common was the eyes of a warrior. The men finally began to recognize the grave importance of the situation.
”I wish to speak!”
”Yes, please do.”
”I am the A-Rank Adventurer Laika. Recently, I’ve often been called ‘Mad Dog Laika’…”
When the young Dog Beast-person, with her orange hair and characteristic floppy ears, raised her hand, a cheer rose up from the women. The name Laika sounded familiar. Wasn’t she one of the adventurers who helped Tania hunt the Pororo Snails? If so, she must have been the one who spread the ‘Tremble Ddo-Buddy’ throughout the Beast-person Association. I had heard about her from Aki-nee yesterday—thanks to her, droves of female Beast-persons had been crowding our shop since the item launched.
”Oh, ‘Mad Dog,’ I have heard that name. You are a promising talent said to hold the title of Dragon Slayer at a young age…” Chromans remarked.
”I am honored. Though it slightly deviates from the main topic to talk about a different product, I must mention that ‘Ddo-Buddy No. 3,’ my ‘Alex,’ contributed greatly to that dragon hunt.”
”I-I see. So, you will speak from an adventurer’s perspective?”
”Yes. As you all know, the adventurer profession is unstable, both financially and socially. Many young female Beast-persons who come to the Royal Capital aiming to become adventurers struggle with the gap between their ideals and reality. As a result, they often give in to the fervor of the ‘heat cycle’ and fall for bad men…”
As Laika spoke with a somber voice, the other adventurers in the room nodded profusely. I looked over and even Aki-nee, her tiger ears drooping softly, was nodding in agreement. Had something similar happened to her before she met her current husband, Carl? Or perhaps she had seen it happen to her comrades.
”We adventurers sometimes call this the ‘cutoff.’ It is not just Beast-persons; many adventurers have their dreams crushed because they give in to loneliness. If you are a man, you can use a brothel. But a woman cannot do the same, and she destroys herself through a fleeting romance.”
”So, you are saying the ‘Tremble Ddo-Buddy’ is useful as a countermeasure for that as well?”
”Yes! How much I have been able to focus on my adventures, thanks to my ‘George’! I propose that the ‘Tremble Ddo-Buddy’ be used not only to manage the ‘heat cycle’ but also to prevent the early resignation of adventurers! I urge you to consider cooperating with the Adventurers Guild!” she argued.
”Well said!”
”Go Laika!”
The women cheered, “Woooah!” while the men pondered the new proposal, murmuring, “Hmmmm.” I understood, in a way; I was an early retiree myself, so I knew the Adventurers Guild had their problems. Though Marm-san and the thugs at the front desk were happy I quit before dying, the Guild Master had worn a troubled face. If the ‘Tremble Ddo-Buddy’ could solve that problem, nothing would make me happier.
As Laika, also with the eyes of a warrior, took her seat, Chairman Chromans closed his eyes, vigorously stroking his magnificent beard. In his head, he was surely mapping out the path to influence the military and the Adventurers Guild using his connections. It was then that the secretary-like Cat-Eared Onee-san spoke to him.
”Chairman, isn’t that enough?” she whispered professionally.
”Yes, I suppose so. There is no longer any doubt about the efficacy of the ‘Tremble Ddo-Buddy’ for our Beast-person Association.”
”Agreed. And if you’ll allow me to interject: if the suspension of the ‘Tremble Ddo-Buddy’ sale is prolonged, I will riot. I might as well add that the other female staff members feel the same way.”
”Ehh!?” he gasped.
”Furthermore, all of your wives are apparently considering a s*x strike during their husbands’ ‘heat cycle’ if this drags on.”
”””EHHHH!?””” the male attendees cried out in unison.
”It is decided!!! It is decided!!! The Beast-person Association will offer its full support to the magic item shop ‘Harvest’!!! Send messengers to the Church, the Guilds, and the Royal Palace immediately!!!!” the Chairman boomed, fully convinced.
And so, our shop took the first step toward what would become a long-term, cooperative relationship with the Beast-person Association.
—
Summary:
The Beast-person Association meeting reaches a critical point as multiple female Beast-persons, including an A-Rank adventurer and the Royal Guard Captain, give fervent, emotional testimony about how the ‘Tremble Ddo-Buddy’ solved their debilitating ‘heat cycle’ issues. This powerful demonstration of the item’s social and military necessity, coupled with the Secretary’s final, subtly threatening ultimatum, forces the Chairman to declare the association’s full, immediate support for Kento’s shop, Harvest.
—
Character Insight:
The testimonies show the deep-seated societal pressure and biological hardship the ‘heat cycle’ imposes on professional Beast-person women. Kento, though embarrassed, recognizes the powerful, life-changing impact of his product, moving it from a simple adult item to a tool for female empowerment and job stability.
—
Behind the Scene:
The Chairman’s final decision wasn’t based solely on logic or social welfare; the threat of a collective ‘s*x strike’ from the wives of the male leadership, as delivered by the sharp-witted secretary, was the ultimate, deciding factor. This highlights the practical, personal stakes involved for all the high-ranking men present, securing Harvest’s victory.
Notes:
• Kento – The owner of the magic tool shop ‘Harvest,’ which discretely sells adult goods. He’s a former overworked, ordinary salaryman from modern Japan who was suddenly transported (isekai’d) to this fantasy world. He has dark hair and an unremarkable appearance, typically wearing a plain, slightly suspicious-looking shop owner’s clothes looks like Kazuma Satou from certain series. He has a minimal amount of magic power, enough to craft his specialty items.
• Ouka – The middle-aged head of the Garou Merchant Guild, known for leather goods and accessories. He is a prominent figure using his own family’s experience to advocate for the ‘Tremble Ddo-Buddy’. Have gray wolf ears and wear merchant attire.
• Chromans – President of the ‘Royal Capital Beast-person Mutual Aid Association’ and the manager of the ‘Grizzly Merchant Guild,’ a top-tier weapons and armor dealer. He’s powerful, influential, and very business-savvy. Have round, cute bear ears (sooty brown), bushy beard and hair (sooty brown), and large build with muscular physique under a expensive gown.
• Merluza – The Captain of the Royal Guard, a veteran soldier and Lion Beast-person. She testifies to the military necessity and effectiveness of the ‘Tremble Ddo-Buddy’ (which she calls ‘Bob’) for female beast-person soldiers, ensuring job performance isn’t compromised by ‘heat’. Have dull yellow hair, large feline ears, wearing armor, and large scar over the right eye.
• Tania – An Elf adventurer who, despite her race’s reputation for low sex drive, is secretly quite passionate. She initially seemed ‘wasted’ (emotionally dry) to her friend Raika, but was easily introduced to the pleasure-items sold at ‘Harvest.’ She is easily embarrassed and attempts to maintain a dignified facade, despite her recent, frequent purchases. She wears practical but light armor over a simple cloth tunic and short pants, highlighting her grace and agility. Her primary relationship is one of friendly senior-junior with Raika.
• Marm – The attractive, red-haired, tanned receptionist at the Adventurer’s Guild. She wears a uniform that emphasizes her ‘nice body.’ She is kind and acts like a supportive ‘big sister’ figure to Kento. Looks like Mirajane Strauss from certain series.
