Volume 13 Chapter 346 Shirogane Yui, The Vow to Love Myself

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

Do I even have the right to bear children, I wonder? I’ve thought about that so many times. It gnawed at me.

”Yui-san, please calm yourself and listen to me.”

After the World Conference at Stars wrapped up smoothly, I was called into an audience with Prime Minister Habu, who had just returned to Japan. The moment I stepped into the room, seeing the Prime Minister’s somber, earnest face, I knew this wasn’t just a casual chat. What could it be about? Even when talking about Aqua, the Prime Minister never looked this serious.

”Speaking on the Yui-matter, the Diplomat Barnes—your father, whom we’ve been holding here—will be extradited to the States,” Prime Minister Habu announced.

The memory of what happened in Hiroshima flashed through my mind, and my body twitched in a sudden, sickening jolt. Diplomat Barnes, the man who was my genetic father…

“Yui, you might think I’m a terrible man, but half the blood running through your body is mine. I see women only as tools. I feel no emotion toward children. Do you grasp that? You carry the genes of a man that awful. And the other half—for whatever reason—is the genes of the woman who abused you. Listen, Yui. Don’t you dare think a woman like you can ever find happiness. You were born from a mix of the worst and the worst. How could you possibly express normal affection? Surely, you haven’t forgotten what your mother and grandmother did to you, have you?”

I haven’t forgotten a single word that man ever said. Not one. Could someone like me, really, get pregnant and raise a child? His words had lodged themselves like a thorn in my heart and I couldn’t pull it out.

 ”Yui-san, are you alright?”

”Ah, yes. I’m fine,” I managed to say.

Prime Minister Habu peered at my face with a worried expression, which made me realize how awful I must have looked to her.

”As you know, the President of the States has changed to Arnie. Because of this, we can now negotiate with the States as equals—or rather, negotiate with mutual respect… well, being polite about it isn’t necessary. The point is, we can now have a proper discussion where both our positions are taken into account,” she explained.

I nodded at her words. I’d heard that President Maitrix, who is popular in the States, fought side-by-side with Prime Minister Habu and Aqua, sharing both hardship and triumph. This has fostered a sentiment among the citizens, military personnel, and some politicians in the States that Japan is an equal, a true, battle-tested ally and partner.

”Right now, we have Aqua. Japan has an advantage in negotiations because of him, but as the Prime Minister of Japan, I must think about this country’s future—a hundred years, a thousand years, for all eternity. To do that, I want to rack up favors and leverage against a powerful nation like the States. For the sake of the young people who will inherit the path I’m forging… you see?” she inquired, her voice warm.

I nodded again, taking in her foresight. Prime Minister Habu always thinks about the future of this country and its people. A diplomatic trade for a diplomat’s life—and a rare male one, at that—would surely yield a substantial return.

”Prime Minister Habu, as a national public servant, I fully intend to follow the government’s official decision,” I stated, choosing my words carefully.

Frankly, as a mere S* * *n-Extractor Officer, this whole matter was out of my hands. I wasn’t in a position to offer an opinion, nor was there any reason for the country’s leader to worry about my feelings.

”So, I leave his fate entirely up to you. You’re a busy person, Prime Minister; you really don’t have to take time out of your day just for me.”

”Thank you. But this is important to me, both personally and as a politician.”

Prime Minister Habu gently placed her hand on the back of mine.

”Prime Minister, that might be construed as harassment!” Rihito-san, the secretary, cut in sharply.

”Rihito-kun!? I was getting to the good part!” she yelped, flustered.

I couldn’t help but laugh softly at Prime Minister Habu’s frantic response to Rihito-san’s quick-witted retort¹. She cleared her throat, regaining her composure.

”As the Prime Minister of this country, I have a duty to explain everything I do to the citizens. Of course, things concerning national defense can’t always be made public, but you understand that,” she said.

That was only natural for a head of state. I nodded in silent agreement with Prime Minister Habu’s point.

”Still, in this particular case, I felt I needed to explain this directly to you, Yui-san, since you are the person most affected. Even if the decision is final and can’t be reversed, and even if the person involved isn’t satisfied, I am the Prime Minister—the one who must communicate with the people. It is my duty to explain these things and take responsibility for my actions. Now, that’s me speaking as a politician and Prime Minister. But simply as myself, and knowing you as well as I do, Yui-san, I felt it was only right to talk it through with you first.”

”Prime Minister… thank you,” I whispered, bowing my head respectfully.

Her high approval ratings must come from moments like this. Prime Minister Habu, who never runs away from a debate and insists on talking until the very end, even once spent 76 hours straight in a Debate-heavy Diet Session² without sleep—though I think the topic they were debating was utterly trivial.

”It’s a shame we can’t try him here in Japan, but I plan to send a formal letter to the States and to Arnie, requesting strict punishment for the Diplomat Barnes’s crimes. I’ll frame it as a step toward building a fruitful future relationship for both our countries, so I don’t think he’ll get off scot-free.”

”Yes. That’s more than enough for me.”

Honesly, what happens to that man—my father—doesn’t really matter to me. But I can’t forgive the fact that the people who protected me were hurt by his violence. For their sake, I truly wanted him to pay for his crimes.

”Now, this is the most important part of my visit: the day for the handover of the Diplomat has been set. If you, Yui-san, have anything you want to say to him one last time, I can make arrangements. That will likely be your final chance, as once he’s in the States, meeting or even speaking with him will become nearly impossible. So, I want to know what you want to do.”

 The answer was simple.

I don’t want to see him.

It was clear that meeting him would be pointless. Yet… seeing Prime Minister Habu’s commitment to dialogue, her refusal to give up until the very end, I felt I, too, should face that man one last time.

 I want to be strong.

I felt that if I faced him, I could grow stronger—strong enough to support Aqua, just like Kanon-san does.

 ”Please, arrange it for me.”

”Understood. Leave it to me,” Prime Minister Habu assured me, giving my back a gentle, encouraging pat.

* * *

A few days later, I went with Prime Minister Habu and the others to Haneda Airport for the handover.

 ”Yui…” my father sneered.

When our eyes met, I unconsciously flinched. No! If I falter now, nothing will change! My father’s gaze dropped to my abdomen, and a mocking grin stretched one corner of his mouth.

”Kuku… judging by your condition, it seems you still haven’t gotten pregnant with that man’s child yet.”

I froze at his words. The sensation of coldness spreading from my fingertips to my heart threatened to break me.

”You truly are my child! A child must obey their parent’s words! I suppose my words are still lodged in your heart, aren’t they? Hahaha! Yui! Give up! You, the daughter of me, will never build a happy family!” he roared.

I clenched my hands tightly in front of me. I didn’t want to be shaken by the words of this man. That’s what I told myself… but a part of me couldn’t deny what he was saying.

 ”Hey! Be quiet!”

”Shut up! Who do you think I am!” my father snapped back at the States’ official who tried to restrain him.

Seeing my distress, Prime Minister Habu stepped forward.

”As the Prime Minister of Japan, I cannot overlook any further verbal abuse directed toward one of my citizens,” she declared, her voice low and sharp.

”Hah! And what of it? My custody has practically been handed over to the States. If you, the Prime Minister of Japan, resort to violence, it will only become an international incident!” he challenged.

To think that half of that man’s blood flows in my veins—it truly made me despise myself. But… everyone around me says they love me, even with this blood. Aqua said he loves me. If I can’t love myself, how can I ever love anyone else? I want to love myself. For the sake of the people who say they love me! I took a deep breath, took one step forward, and looked straight into my father’s eyes.

”I… I will never become like you!”

The sheer volume of my voice surprised even me. But I was tired of being negative! Tired of slouching with my head down because of my large chest—tired of looking away and being unable to meet the eyes of the man I love!

”I will absolutely be happy. I will build a happy family with the man who said he loves me, and I want to bear his children!”

I said it! I finally said it! This wasn’t revenge against him; it was a vow to myself. My parentage doesn’t matter. I will be happy! No, that’s not right. To become happy, I had to stop hurting my own heart first.

”Well said, Yui-san!” Prime Minister Habu clapped her hands, and the Japanese officials accompanying her joined in, cheering.

Seeing my unwavering gaze, my father began to yell again.

”Hah! You, a happy family!? It’s impossible! You are the daughter of me, Toa! You will end up just like me one day. Do you really think you can raise a child?” he shrieked.

I simply stared back. Emily-san once said that a woman who has made up her mind is incredibly strong. That thought made me feel utterly unshakable, no matter what this man said.

”Diplomat Barnes, I’m warning you again—no further…” Prime Minister Habu began, stepping forward, but I stopped her with a small gesture of my hand.

It’s alright. I can handle it now. Seeing my smile, Prime Minister Habu must have understood my fierce resolve, and she nodded back with a slight smile. This seemed to enrage my father even more, and he continued his barrage of abuse.

”Yui, can you really raise a child? You were never raised with proper care. How will you interact with a child? You, who never received love from a parent, can’t possibly give it to a child!” he shouted, his voice cracking.

The States’ officials looked mortified, holding their heads in their hands. They must have hoped that an apology or a moment of remorse from my father would serve as mitigation for his upcoming trial back home. But expecting that from this man was useless.

”That’s enough. Get on the plane now.”

”I said stop ordering me around!” My father shoved aside the States’ official and lunged toward Prime Minister Habu and me.

”What’s wrong!? Go on, hit me if you can!” he taunted.

I knew his game. If I, Prime Minister Habu, or any government official struck a Diplomat—regardless of the circumstances—it would become a huge international incident. My father was trying to use that to his advantage in his trial.

”Ugh! At this rate, I’ll hit him myself… even if it costs me my job! We have Kokucho Congressman to take over this country!” Prime Minister Habu’s fist was clenched so tightly that blood began to trickle down her hand. Prime Minister! Please, stop! I’m okay! The person who absolutely shouldn’t hit him was the one who looked like she wanted to the most.

”Yui, you think I’m scum, don’t you? Listen: half the blood running through you is from me, that scum. And the other half is the blood of the woman who never loved you! You’re scum born from scum and scum! You’ll never be happy! Go on, Habu Chiyoko, hit me if you dare!” he roared, using her full name.

 ”I will.”

Huh? Prime Minister Habu!? I tried to restrain her, but I paused. Wait… that wasn’t the Prime Minister’s voice.

Both Prime Minister Habu and I turned our gaze toward the source of the sound.

”I don’t know who you are, but… you know you’re shouting abuse at my wife, the person I love, right?”

 ”A-Aqua!?”

”Aqua-kun!?” Both the Prime Minister and I gaped at Aqua, who had appeared out of nowhere. Wait, why is he here? Oh, right…

”Hello there. I’m Shirogane Aqua, just arrived at the airport after returning from a school trip,” Aqua greeted the States’ officials with a slight, charming bow.

Wait, what was that about? His smile felt terrifyingly cold today. Aqua slowly approached my father, stretching his arms and shaking out his muscles as if limbering up after a long journey. What was the purpose of that initial confirmation?

”I’m going to ask you once more. What did you call my wife? Apologize now, and depending on Yui’s response, I might reconsider.”

”Hah! Why would I apologize? What I said is the truth! Let me warn you: striking me, a Diplomat, a male citizen of another country, and an upper-class individual, will cause an international incident!” my father bragged.

Aqua sighed softly and murmured, “Yeah, I figured.”

In the next instant, Aqua took a single step forward and unleashed a powerful slap across my father’s cheek.

”Ghuheck!” My father’s body spun and was sent flying through the air as Prime Minister Habu, the States’ officials, and I watched in stunned silence. A person can actually be knocked back like that? Wait, no! Aqua! That’s an international incident!

Aqua turned to the States’ people again.

”Tell President Maitrix this: consider that as paying off the debt I was owed.”

”Eh? Ah… yes, sir.” The States’ officials and I stared blankly, bewildered. What debt to President Maitrix was he talking about? I turned to Prime Minister Habu beside me.

”Ah, I see… That’s right. Aqua-kun was owed a personal favor by the States after he helped President Maitrix at Stars, wasn’t he?” she realized.

 ”That’s the one.”

”K-Kanon-san!?” Prime Minister Habu and I were equally surprised by Kanon’s sudden appearance behind us. Oh, right… the school trip ended, so she came back with Aqua.

”It was a right the States gave Aqua to use their influence for anything he needed—just once,” Kanon explained.

A right to use their influence for anything!? Wait a minute!

 ”B-but that’s such an important right…” I stammered.

”Why not use it? The Aqua that both Yui-san and I love is that kind of man, isn’t he? Hey, why don’t you ask him yourself?” Kanon gave Aqua an adoring, knowing look.

Aqua smiled at both of us and slowly approached.

”Aqua, why did you…?” I began.

That right—a single-use favor from the States—was incredibly valuable to Aqua’s career as an idol. He could have used it to secure hard-to-get venues, hijack a TV network, or gain access to restricted locations for filming. It would undoubtedly have boosted his career when debuting in the States.

”What man who makes the person he loves sad can make anyone smile? If you can’t protect the smile of your closest wife, family, and friends, you can’t protect the smiles of your fans. Right?”

”Even so… Aqua, you’re an idiot.”

Aqua smiled at me and said, “I get that a lot. Especially from my nanika-senpai.” I wrapped my arms tightly around him. Frankly, whether he hit my father or not was irrelevant. What mattered was that I loved him even more for doing so much for me.

”Aqua…” I looked up at him, my eyes welling up with emotion.

Just then, a cart loaded with suitcases came barreling into the sweet moment.

”Ah, excuse me! Coming through!” Emily-san, pushing a huge cart of luggage, rolled right over my father, who was still sprawled on the ground.

”Gueh!” He made a small, pathetic sound.

Looking at my father’s prone figure, his hair and clothing now bore distinct wheel tracks. Prime Minister Habu burst into a fit of laughter, choking on air from laughing so hard.

”I’m so sorry! I think I ran over something! Please, let me through, I’m late for my job!” Emily-san rushed off.

What kind of job is she rushing to? Kanon and I exchanged a confused look, tilting our heads at each other. I hoped it wasn’t anything strange. Immediately after, we heard the sound of someone else sprinting toward us.

 ”Aqua-kuuuun, welcome back!”

”Gyueh!” Unstoppable and unyielding, Morikawa-san gave my father another full-force trampling, causing him to emit a sound I’d never heard before. Realizing she had stepped on something, Morikawa-san went pale.

 ”Excuse me! Are you alright!?”

”Augh, augh,” my father groaned weakly, his body violently shaken by Morikawa-san, who grabbed him by both shoulders with bone-crushing strength. He was shaken so hard his neck looked like it might snap. Huh, so the neck joints can move that much…

Prime Minister Habu clapped her hands together. “Case closed!” she announced triumphantly.

Prime Minister! Are you seriously trying to force an end to this!? The States’ officials, suppressing their laughter, grabbed my father’s arm and dragged him—unconscious and with his neck flopping—onto the plane.

 ”We didn’t see anything!”

”I apologize. These sunglasses are so dark I really can’t see a thing,” the States’ officials confessed, bowing their heads and apologizing to me. I was relieved to hear that Emily-san and Morikawa-san’s actions were being treated as pure accidents with no malicious intent. I felt a surge of warmth. Somehow, just being around these people, I felt like I could face forward, no matter what.

 ”Yui.”

Aqua’s voice brought me back to the present. That’s right. It was my turn now.

”Were you perhaps thinking about someone other than me?” he teased.

I wrapped my arms around Aqua’s neck, pulling him closer to my bare chest.

”As if I could ever think of anyone but you, Aqua.”

I initiated a kiss on his lips. I love you. I adore you. I worship you, the man who loves me, the man who pulled me out of the darkness and into the light.

”Aqua, I want your baby, too. So, let’s do it a lot tonight, okay?”

 ”Of course, my love.”

Aqua’s long, firm member slid deep inside me. There was no negativity left in me now. From the moment I decided I wanted to conceive his child, making love with Aqua became even more pleasurable. There is no greater pleasure or feeling of euphoria than intercourse aimed at conception. I truly believe that.

 ”Ah!

Every time the tip gently knocked against my cervix, the egg deep within my womb thrummed with anticipation. So, this is what Emily-san was so passionate about—feeling it deep in your womb.

 ”Mmmh!

The warmth below my navel began to intensify. I knew instantly that my body, desperate to conceive a child, was heating up.

”I love you. I love you,” I whispered, responding to his kiss by desperately moving my tongue against his. I want to conceive. I want him to ejaculate inside me now. My instinct made me wrap my legs around his hips and tighten my grip.

 ”Ah… that’s amazing.”

I hugged my hands tightly around his back. I could feel his thick, hot fluid pulsing deep inside my womb. The feeling of being loved and filled up like this was intoxicating.

 ”Aqua, more, more, please!”

Tonight, we didn’t need a S* * *n-Extractor or a condom. I wanted him to pour his all into me and make me pregnant.

 ”Nnnh!

Aqua cupped and gently squeezed my large chest—the one thing that had always been a source of my complex. Could there be a man in the world who touched a woman’s breasts with so much pure love? As my body arched, Aqua hugged my floating hips tight against him.

”Ah, ah, ah,” I panted. The deepest part of me was overflowing with the pleasure of intercourse and the euphoria of being loved. I want this man’s baby.

”Nnh!” I held Aqua in what Emily-san had dubbed the ‘Super-Duper-Love Hug’ and received his seed again and again. How much time passed, I don’t know. Through my hazy vision, I met the eyes of the man I love.

Aqua, I will love myself more. I will love the Yui you love even more than I do now, so I can return even greater love to you.

Filled with all the semen he could pour into me, I drifted off to sleep, wrapped in the bliss of pure happiness in the arms of the man I love.

 Summary:

Yui finally confronts her abusive father, the Diplomat, at the airport after his extradition to the States is approved. Her self-doubt about being a mother is challenged by his taunts. In a climactic moment, Yui vows to be happy and love herself, breaking the cycle of her father’s psychological abuse.

Aqua, just back from a school trip, unexpectedly appears and uses a powerful personal favor owed by the States to viciously strike the Diplomat, declaring the protection of his wife’s smile as paramount. The scene ends with a final, intensely passionate and fertile act of love between Yui and Aqua, where Yui fully embraces her self-worth and her desire to conceive his child.

 —

 Character Insight:

Yui’s internal conflict is resolved not by her father’s defeat, but by her own declaration of self-worth—a true turning point. Prime Minister Habu is revealed to be a deeply caring leader, and Aqua’s core philosophy is reaffirmed: loyalty to loved ones supersedes all personal gain, including his idol career.

 —

 Behind the Scene:

This chapter is the emotional payoff for Yui’s long-running trauma arc, using the political backdrop of the Diplomat’s extradition as the stage for her personal triumph. The use of a one-time ‘favor’ from the States provides a satisfying, consequence-free moment of catharsis for Aqua, reinforcing his ‘fiercely protective’ persona.

 T/L:

¹ The term tsukkomi means a quick-witted retort or joking reprimand, often used in Japanese comedy to play the straight person to someone else’s silly behavior.

² The Debate-heavy Diet Session is my translation of Resuba Kokkai, an informal, exaggerated term for a National Diet (Parliament) session that is notorious for being drawn out by verbal arguments and debates.

Notes:

• Ken – Male. A rehabilitated man working in the mine. The fiancé of Akiyama Sachiko, the organizer of the party or one of the protagonist’s (Aqua’s) mother’s students (ikebana) appeared in Volume 2 Chapter 12. However, their engagement is not yet officially recognized, as the necessary documents have not been signed by all parties involved. Ken-kun behaves inappropriately during the event, attempting to flirt with Kanon and later becoming aggressive, even wielding a replica sword. His actions cause a disturbance, and he is eventually subdued and removed by the security team.
