Chapter 47 The Visitors
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
It had been a few days since I asked Tania, the adventurer elf, to go hunt for the Fire Rat Fur. Naturally, she needed proper preparations for climbing the mountain and planned to camp out there for a week or two, which meant I had plenty of time to kill.
And so, I devoted myself to mindful shopkeeping again today. Honestly, there wasn’t much I could do right now—it was purely a waiting game. After I had to halt the sales of the Tremble-Ddo-Buddy, I’d left a lot of the day-to-day to Lily. So, even if it was just regular shop work, I had to completely renew my focus and put some real effort back in.
”P-Please, I’d like the Love Potion…” the young adventurer girl stammered, her face flushed crimson.
”Heh-heh, thanks for coming!” I mused contentedly, watching her. She was one of the beginner adventurers who usually just came in for the Cheap Healing Potions. Somewhere along the line, she’d heard the rumors and finally ventured into our little side business.
Ah, it was deeply moving, you know? To see a novice adventurer who used to struggle to afford enough of the cheap potions, who I’d even given extras to a few times, finally be able to purchase an adult magic item… It was a real milestone for her.
That girl and her party leader were clearly into each other, and watching them had been getting on my nerves for a while now. I sincerely hoped my goods would help them finally make things happen. Yeah, I was rooting for them.
”Hooooooo…“
I watched her hurry away, then puffed out a plume of smoke from my usual faux-cigarette. Man, you always feel great after doing something good. Getting to mess with a customer a little, making a sale, and cheering on young love—it was truly the best business a guy could have!
I spent the next few hours selling a few other fun devices, informing customers who specifically asked for the Tremble-Ddo-Buddy that it was temporarily off the shelves, and indulging in my hobby of staff-making. I thought, if only this peaceful time could last forever.
Then, in the quiet lull of the late afternoon, a rare visitor arrived. The bell above the door tinkled as the door opened.
”Wait, Marm-san…?”
”……”
It was Marm-san, the receptionist from the Adventurer’s Guild and one of the few people who kept my spirits up during my days of extreme poverty. She was a lovely, well-built Elder Sister type with brown skin and red hair. Honestly, she was supposedly younger than me, but an Elder Sister was an Elder Sister, no matter the age.
I hadn’t been to the Guild recently, so it felt like ages since I’d seen her face. But her usual bright, cheerful demeanor was completely gone. She was pressing her lips into a tight line, almost glaring at me.
”Is something wrong? I haven’t seen you here since my grand opening. And shouldn’t you be working at the Guild…?”
”…Today, I’m actually on an errand for the Guild,” she explained, her voice stiffening. “They thought a familiar face would be better for a visit. …I was told to come here because there’s a certain person selling indecent items.”
Marm-san folded her arms, still scrutinizing me with a severe gaze. The brown skin of her chest, pushed up by her crossed arms, bobbed slightly with the motion. Plump, plump.

So, this moment has finally arrived. For adventurers, the receptionist was a sacred, untouchable being—a goddess they couldn’t corrupt. That’s why neither I nor the other roughnecks had ever told her about the goods we sold here. She was supposed to see me as ‘the kind-hearted town magic shop owner’ who sold cheap healing potions to struggling rookies. How did it all come to this?
”Uh, I don’t really know what you’re talking about…”
”Don’t try to play innocent, Kento-kun! I know! You’re selling, well, lewd magic items!” she spluttered.
It was no use. I thought I might be able to evade the question, but she had come prepared and with certainty. Oh well. Yes, you got me. We’re a lewd magic shop.
”Mind if I ask where you heard this little bit of news?”
”The Guild Master told me directly! Apparently, the Beastkin Association, the Bearkin Merchant Guild, and the Wolfkin Merchant Guild all requested the Guild’s cooperation in getting that, well, that ‘Tremble-Ddo-Buddy’ back on sale! Your name and shop came up in the meeting! You can imagine my shock!” Marm-san finished, her face burning a deep red.
Ah, I see. I’d heard they were going to ask the Adventurer’s Guild for help during the Beastkin Association meeting. But I hadn’t expected the news to reach Marm-san. There was no defending myself now.
I’m going to be scorned by Marm-san as the perverted shop owner who sells perverted magic items. Wait a minute, that didn’t sound so bad! I got to witness her saying the product’s name, and if she’s going to blush or scorn me every time we meet from now on, isn’t that a reward?
”Hmph! If I’ve been found out, so be it! Yes, the sale of cheap healing potions to beginners is just my front! But my true form is that of the lewd magic shop, ‘Harvest’!” I proclaimed, throwing my hands up.
”Oh, stop it! What are you doing, acting all high and mighty now?! I never thought Kento-kun would be like this!” Marm-san fumed, her whole body shaking with indignation.
Ah, a reward, a true reward. Please, give me more of that adorable anger! Tell me off! I thought those naughty thoughts while gazing at the cutely enraged Marm-san. I could feel the door to a brand-new preference swinging open!
However, the door that actually opened was the front door of my shop. The bell jingled again as another customer stepped inside.
”Hmph, is there already someone here?”
”You’re… Merluza-san, right?”
”Indeed. It’s been a while, Shopkeep, since we last saw each other at the meeting,” the Lion-like Beast-person, Merluza-san, replied. She was the Captain of Her Majesty’s Royal Guard—the very woman who had testified to the usefulness of the Tremble-Ddo-Buddy at the recent Beastkin Association summit.
”How’s your ‘Bob’ doing?” I asked, with a lewd wink.
”Oh, you remembered that? I’m honored. Ah, it was shaking happily just last night,” Merluza-san chuckled. My attempt at harassment hadn’t affected her in the slightest; she’d returned the volley with utter composure. What an absolutely bold and refreshing woman.
”Well then, if you have a customer, perhaps I should return later?”
”No, if you’re here on business, it’s likely the same case. This is Marm-san, the Guild Receptionist. Marm-san, this is Merluza-san, Captain of Her Majesty’s Royal Guard.”
”Merluza, pleased to meet you.”
”H-Hello… Wait, the Captain of Her Majesty’s Royal Guard?! Kento-kun, what in the world have you been up to…” Marm-san stammered, completely overwhelmed by the situation.
I recounted the whole story to Marm-san, who was struggling to grasp the situation: how the Tremble-Ddo-Buddy was banned, how the Beastkin Association was working to get it back on the market, and how it was deemed effective for the Beast-women’s ‘heat cycle’.
”S-So that’s what was going on… I was actually sent by the Guild Master to gather information to decide if we should cooperate with the resale of that, that ‘Tremble-Ddo-Buddy’…” Marm-san confessed.
”Marm-dono, the Tremble-Ddo-Buddy is a truly magnificent invention. Even for non-Beastkin, if you just try it, you will surely understand its quality!” Merluza-san vouched vigorously.
”Eek! B-But I… I couldn’t…” Marm-san gasped.
Ah, if that’s the case, the best way to convince her is to have her try it. I retrieved one of the items that was now just unsold stock and offered it to Marm-san.
”Here you go, Marm-san. This is the genuine Tremble-Ddo-Buddy. Take it as a sample and decide after you’ve used it.”
”K-Kento-kun?! You shouldn’t be offering things like that to a lady!”
”With all due respect, Marm-dono, refusing before even trying it is simply prejudice. Believe me, I initially thought relying on such a device was weakness, but now I can’t imagine living without it. If you try it, you’ll understand why so many women are clamoring for this. If you have resistance to internal use, applying it to the clitoris or nipples is more than enough to have a good time…” Merluza-san advised with absolute sincerity.
”Merluza-san?! Are you really the Captain of Her Majesty’s Royal Guard?!” Marm-san exclaimed, looking dizzy with shock.
Merluza-san continued to press the device onto a mentally spinning Marm-san. Ultimately, after a long, internal struggle, Marm-san accepted the Tremble-Ddo-Buddy and left.
I must add that watching a beautiful Elder Sister type getting all flustered over a lewd magic item was an experience of magnificent, profound aesthetic quality.
”Thanks a bunch for your help, I really appreciate the cooperation.”
”Think nothing of it. I’ll do whatever it takes to spread the magnificence of the Tremble-Ddo-Buddy, Merluza-san replied, letting out a loud, hearty laugh.
Just then, the front door bell clanged for a third time. It was certainly a busy day for visitors.
”Merluza, how long do you intend to make me wait?”
”Ah, my apologies, Muse. I got a little carried away talking, and I forgot about you.”
The newcomer was a customer who had been coming to the shop frequently for a while now, a woman named Muse in a maid uniform. She had short black hair and matching black eyes with an impressively sharp gaze. Her usual emotionless expression as she calmly ordered massive quantities of adult magic items was a secret source of comfort for me. But now, she was addressing Merluza-san quite familiarly.
A Royal Guard Captain and a Maid. I quickly sensed the nature of their relationship and spoke up.
”Welcome. What can I do for you?”
”…I have a summons for you, from a certain noble personage. Would you kindly accompany me?” she asked, her voice completely flat and formal.
—
Summary:
Kento’s tranquil shop life gets violently disrupted when the Adventurer’s Guild sends the flustered Marm to investigate his ‘lewd magic items’ business. The Lion Beast-person Royal Guard Captain, Merluza, arrives as an ally, shamelessly advocating for the banned Tremble-Ddo-Buddy and convincing Marm to try it. Just as the chaos seems to settle, a mysterious, emotionless maid named Muse arrives to deliver a high-stakes summons from a high-ranking noble or the Queen herself. Kento’s secret life has gone very public.
—
Character Insight:
Kento is revealed to be a playful sadist who finds genuine aesthetic pleasure in flustering the people he respects, like Marm. His loyalty to his customers and his self-amused nature are his defining traits. Marm’s inner conflict highlights the social taboo of the adult goods, while Merluza’s confidence shatters it. Muse’s formal summons completely changes the stakes from a local problem to a political one.
—
Behind the Scene:
The ‘Tremble-Ddo-Buddy’ is not just a popular adult toy; it has become a tool of political and social importance within the Beastkin community, forcing Kento’s obscure shop into the spotlight. The Guild’s involvement (through Marm) and the Royal Guard’s involvement (through Merluza and Muse) indicate that Kento is no longer an underground seller, but a figure of interest to the highest authority in the kingdom. The summons is a cliffhanger that propels the plot into a new, dangerous, but potentially profitable, phase.
Notes:
• Tania – An Elf adventurer who, despite her race’s reputation for low sex drive, is secretly quite passionate. She initially seemed ‘wasted’ (emotionally dry) to her friend Raika, but was easily introduced to the pleasure-items sold at ‘Harvest.’ She is easily embarrassed and attempts to maintain a dignified facade, despite her recent, frequent purchases. She wears practical but light armor over a simple cloth tunic and short pants, highlighting her grace and agility. Her primary relationship is one of friendly senior-junior with Raika.
• Lily – the sl*ve and primary experiment subject for the magic shop, ‘Harvest.’ She has striking pink hair, Blue eyes, medium breasts, which the Protagonist associates with being ‘wanton’. She has a working knowledge of magic, which she kept hidden from the slave trader.
• Marm – The attractive, red-haired, tanned receptionist at the Adventurer’s Guild. She wears a uniform that emphasizes her ‘nice body.’ She is kind and acts like a supportive ‘big sister’ figure to Kento. Looks like Mirajane Strauss from certain series.
• Kento – The owner of the magic tool shop ‘Harvest,’ which discretely sells adult goods. He’s a former overworked, ordinary salaryman from modern Japan who was suddenly transported (isekai’d) to this fantasy world. He has dark hair and an unremarkable appearance, typically wearing a plain, slightly suspicious-looking shop owner’s clothes looks like Kazuma Satou from certain series. He has a minimal amount of magic power, enough to craft his specialty items.
• Merluza – The Captain of the Royal Guard, a veteran soldier and Lion Beast-person. She testifies to the military necessity and effectiveness of the ‘Tremble Ddo-Buddy’ (which she calls ‘Bob’) for female beast-person soldiers, ensuring job performance isn’t compromised by ‘heat’. Have dull yellow hair, large feline ears, wearing armor, and large scar over the right eye.
• Muse – Cecile’s trusted attendant and chief maid, Muse handles sensitive, discreet tasks like espionage and product acquisition. Have sharp, black eyes, wearing maid uniform, and have expressionless face.
