Chapter 50 At the Zoo꞉ Family Blessings and a Surprising Bathroom Encounter

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

The much-anticipated trip to the zoo had to be postponed by another week. It couldn’t be helped, really; Emi-chan’s mother had insisted on coming over to pay her respects at my parents’ Butsudan¹. The moment Emi-chan had mentioned that my parents had passed away, her mother had declared she must visit immediately. I thought her perhaps a trifle hasty, but I welcomed her with a ready heart.

Emi-chan’s mother and my own mother had been quite the formidable duo, often marching off to the kindergarten together whenever we were being bullied as children. What’s more, Emi-chan’s father, though he worked at a different firm, was in the automotive industry just like my father. They had been well-acquainted, the sort of drinking buddies who shared a deep, unspoken bond. When Emi-chan’s mother reached out to him, he told her to go at once, which only confirmed how close our families truly were.

Because Emi-chan is a Hafu², it seems she often faces the cold sting of discrimination. As her mother was leaving, she took my hand in hers, her grip firm and pleading. “Please, look after Emily for me,” she said. With that visit concluded, it was finally settled that Emi-chan could come over to play without any lingering awkwardness.

And so, at long last, the zoo date became a reality.

Carrying the lunch Manami had painstakingly prepared, we set off. It was a Sunday, and the grounds were teeming with visitors, all eager to catch a glimpse of the animals. Hand in hand, we wandered leisurely past the lions, the giraffes, the elephants, and the monkeys, taking in the sights at our own pace.

Manami was in high spirits, her phone seemingly glued to her hand as she snapped photos to post in the group chat. I had only recently discovered this chat existed, and since I was quite pointedly excluded, I hadn’t the faintest idea what she, Yuzuki, and Emi-chan talked about. I could only imagine them laughing together, perhaps sharing a few jokes at my expense.

As if to prove the point, Yuzuki kept firing off comments on social media. “Inamori-kun looks exactly like this animal, lol,” she wrote, followed by, “Inamori-kun’s eyes are rolling back in this one, lol!” It was all rather disparaging, and I couldn’t even see the pictures she was mocking, but they seemed to be having a grand time, so I decided to let it be.

Manami, meanwhile, was behaving like a delighted child. “That lonely-looking monkey over there… he’s just like Hirokazu-san when he’s at school,” she said with a giggle. “Oh, look! Lions are so handsome, aren’t they? And the lesser panda actually stood up! I’d forgotten how adorable capybaras were.”

Watching her was a joy in itself. I felt a sudden pang of gratitude; she was always so busy with the housework, and I realized I had been terribly selfish to let her go so long without a proper outing. I made a mental note to take her out more often, even with the pressure of my entrance exams looming.

When we finally sat down to eat, I found that the lunchbox was filled with all my favorite things. The octopus-shaped sausages were a particularly charming touch, making it feel like a proper picnic. But the highlight, without a doubt, was the rice balls. I’d never tasted anything quite like them. When I told her so, Manami’s face lit up with pure, unadulterated happiness.

We stayed until the very moment the gates were set to close.

”We’ve run out of time to go to a love hotel… is that alright?” I asked.

”I do love it when we’re intimate, but I want to cherish times like this, too,” Manami replied. “So, it’s perfectly fine if we don’t go today.”

Still, it felt like a waste to simply head home, so we decided to grab dinner first. Before that, however, Manami mentioned she wanted a game console. We stopped at a large electronics store near the station. It seemed she had been taking advice from Yuzuki, as she insisted on buying the console along with a kart racing game and a game where you splash ink to color the world.

After a casual Italian dinner in the station building, we didn’t make it back until nearly ten o’clock. I had no intention of doing any studying for the rest of the night.

Manami immediately set about photographing her new purchases to share with the group chat. I retreated to my room to change and then headed for the toilet. Just as I was about to relieve myself, I heard a soft click. I spun around to find Manami standing there, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. I had completely forgotten to lock the door.

”You promised to show me, but you never do!” Manami said, puffing out her cheeks in a mock pout. I didn’t recall making such a promise, but before I could protest, she nudged closer. “Hurry up and go.”

She peered over from the side, watching with intense curiosity. The sudden scrutiny made my stage fright flare up, and everything seemed to shy away. “Not yet?” she asked.

Seeing no other way out, I braced myself and gave a little push. A trickle began, soon turning into a steady stream. Once I was finished, I gave a quick shake and tucked myself away.

”That was interesting,” Manami said, looking entirely satisfied. “It must be so easy, not having to wipe afterward.”

I hadn’t a clue what was so interesting about it. Manami truly had the strangest thoughts sometimes.

”If you find wiping so much trouble, should I just lick it clean for you next time?” I teased.

 ”Wahhh! Hirokazu-san, you’re a pervert!” Manami cried.

”Aren’t you one too, then?” I countered.

”Hehehe…” she giggled, then skipped back into the living room.

When I followed her, I found her struggling manfully with the game console’s settings. “Here, let me see that,” I said. I glanced through the manual, finished the setup, and had it connected to the television in no time at all.

 ”You’re a genius!” she exclaimed.

”No, Manami, you’re just a bit slow with these things,” I teased.

”Don’t call me slow!” she said, giving my shoulder a playful swat. She looked so adorable in that moment.

Despite the late hour, I expected her to want to play right away, but instead, she suggested we take a bath together. We sank into the warm water, me holding her from behind as we usually did. Unusually, Manami began to move her hips, providing a rhythmic pressure that sent a jolt through me. In response, I reached around to flick her nubs with my fingers.

”Ahhh… no!” Manami hummed, though she didn’t pull away.

”You’re the one who started it, didn’t you?” I pointed out.

”Did I? Well, I suppose I did. Fine then. Sit on the bath chair and face me,” Manami said.

I stepped out of the tub and took a seat on the stool. “Thank you for taking me to the zoo today,” she whispered.

Manami leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to the tip before looking up at me with those wide, adoring eyes. She began to glide her tongue along the underside, her hand gently kneading as she worked her way upward. The sensation was overwhelming.

”This feels too good…” I muttered.

”Hirokazu-san, you’re already so firm,” Manami noted.

She gripped the length with one hand, letting a bit of moisture fall onto the head before carefully circling the rim with the tip of her tongue. It was a masterclass in precision.

”That… that’s incredible,” I gasped. My strength seemed to drain away, leaving me in a blissful daze.

Then, she took the top into her mouth, moving her head in a steady, rhythmic motion. Every time she pulled back, she applied a firm pressure, and soon the room was filled with the sounds of her work. Thump. Thump. Thump.

 ”I’m going to…!” I warned.

Manami didn’t pull away, bracing herself for the moment. I held her head steady as the surge came, directed deep into her throat. When the rush finally subsided, I let go.

She slowly pulled away and opened her mouth to show me, a proud smile on her face. The sight of the white gift she had collected was undeniably provocative. With a deliberate motion, she closed her mouth and swallowed. Then, she leaned in for a kiss, her tongue tangling with mine. I caught a faint, bitter taste and realized with a start that I was tasting myself.

”It was delicious today, too,” Manami said, smiling brightly as she pressed her hands together in a little gesture of thanks.

 Character Insight:

In this chapter, we see a deepening of the familial bonds surrounding Hirokazu, as Emi-chan’s parents show genuine care for his deceased parents, effectively ‘approving’ of his relationship with Emi-chan and Manami. Manami continues to balance her roles as a housekeeper and a playful partner, showing her maturity by prioritizing their emotional connection over sexual gratification during the date, yet remaining uninhibitedly affectionate once they are home. Hirokazu’s realization of his own selfishness regarding Manami’s workload suggests significant emotional growth and a shift towards a more protective and appreciative stance toward her.

 Behind the Scene:

The transition from the public setting of the zoo to the private intimacy of the home highlights the dual nature of their relationship—one that is both innocent and deeply sexual. The mention of the ‘ink-coloring game’ is a clear nod to the popular Nintendo title Splatoon.

 —

 T/L:

1 A small Buddhist altar found in Japanese homes, used to honor deceased family members.

2 A Japanese term (derived from ‘half’) used to describe individuals of mixed-race heritage, who often face unique social challenges in Japan.
