Chapter 108 The Councilor Listens to the Report
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
(Yesterday was great, too…!)
The next day. I was in the chamber of the Great Phantasmal Soulstone¹, reminiscing about yesterday’s events.
I had forced Iris-chan into a state of shameful urination and put it out directly into her mouth. Afterward, I had the maids give her a bath, though I didn’t join them.
Engaging in serious oral or joining her in the bath for further challenge play is something for the future. I want to step through the stages efficiently to rack up Ego Points².
Once my time with Iris-chan was over, I spent the night with the royal sisters.
Until now, I’d had them cosplay separately for smartphone photos, but yesterday I had them pose together. I even took a s*x tape, so my family heirlooms have increased once again. I’m sure these will be a great help when I go back to Japan.
”Ego Points are looking good! Let’s keep building them up like this!” Ami-chan said.
”I know. We need to increase the number of maids, too…” I replied.
If I have the leeway, I also want to try manifesting another Unique Individual³.
I’ve come to understand that Vectra-san is incredibly competent… Even if the maintenance costs are high, I’d like to bolster our numbers a bit more.
”A Quester⁴ can have twelve Uniques in total, right? Is the number of female-types fixed?” I asked.
”No, that depends on the Quester, too~. I have a feeling that in Shou’s case, there’s going to be a lot of female-types, though!” Ami-chan replied.
”Is that so…?” I muttered.
Well, while the power of a Dominator⁵ is generally fixed, individual differences appear in the finer details. At the very least, if I weren’t a Quester, I wouldn’t have been able to create Japanese seasonings.
By the way, I installed a simple bed in the cell where Iris-chan is confined. I’ve given her ordinary women’s clothes as well. However, I haven’t given her any underwear. I’m already looking forward to seeing what kind of face she shows me tonight.
”Anyway, there’s so much to do… Most of it is related to the North Farm. I’m worried about the town, too…” I said.
”Eme-rald is going to check things out when the time is right, isn’t she?” Ami-chan asked.
”Yeah, but… I have a favor to ask of you regarding that, Ami-chan.”
”Hm? What is it?”
Collecting information on the town is vital. It’s undoubtedly in an uproar, and there’s a possibility they’re preparing for a full-scale incursion into the Demon Forest⁶.
Since Eme-chan has been to the town several times before, there might be people who recognize her face. She’s cute, and that hair color stands out.
”When she goes to the town, I want her to go as Cleonora instead of her Eme-chan form. I want you to transport Cleonora using Teleportation¹⁵, Ami-chan.”
”I see~. Sure thing~!” Ami-chan replied.
She has never been to the town in the form of Cleonora. There shouldn’t be any risk of her face being recognized or her being known as my associate. It should make gathering information easier.
If she goes to the town transformed as Eme-chan and then cancels the transformation… there will be a time lag before she can transform again. Since she’s the same Cleonora who has a track record of traveling to and from the Royal Capital, I don’t think there’s anything to worry about… but if Ami-chan can teleport her, that would be much faster.
And so, ever since the commotion in the town, everyone had become busy with their own work. At times like this, I find myself wishing I had a few more hands from the Magic Girl staff…
* * *
”…I see. I understand the circumstances well.”
”Lord Lambdaine…”
In the Shital Republic⁷, Councilors possess considerable power despite being commoners. This is because every Councilor is born from a merchant guild⁸ representing the Republic, and their combined capital exceeds even that of the royalty and nobility.
It is no exaggeration to say this country runs on our financial power. The reasons for how a single merchant could amass such power varied by Councilor, but they all shared the fact that they rose to the top through their own business acumen by utilizing what was available in their lands.
I am no different. In my youth, I started with nothing, frequenting a small merchant guild and desperately learning arithmetic and literacy in the gaps between work. I developed unique pigments using plants gathered at the entrance of the Demon Forest, and after striking out on my own, I sold clothing that utilized them.
This led to commissions from the nobility for garment creation, and by successfully expanding my main product line, I achieved success as the country’s top merchant. From there, I partnered with merchants from various countries and some nobles to complete the framework of the Republic. One could say the current Councilors are those who were rewarded for their contributions to the founding of the Republic, granted authority equal to… no, in some cases, greater than that of the royalty and nobility, despite being commoners.
While some Councilors look down on the nobility, I have maintained reasonably good relations with the nobles of the country where I was born and raised. I am satisfied with the way the Republic functions as a nation, and I have an emotional attachment to it.
I left the merchant guild to my son, and as a politician, I spent most of my time in the capital. The reason I, such a man, returned to my hometown of Eckes⁹ after so long was because an urgent report had reached the capital.
A man calling himself the King of the Magic Labyrinth¹⁰ had taken control of the Demon Forest and kidnapped my granddaughter, Iristina. My son and his wife were in a panic. Since I couldn’t grasp the situation from letters alone, I returned to this town for the first time in a long while.
”You did well not to cause a needless scene and to silence the guard force.”
”Thank you, milord.”
In the room was Luizef, who had now become a full-fledged butler. He is the man I have been with the longest. I trust him more than my own kin.
”However, it was due to my incompetence that Lady Iris was abducted.” Luizef said.
”Hmph… If you couldn’t do anything about it, the result would have been the same no matter who else was there.” Lambdaine replied.
A sacred treasure obtained from the Holy City of Ragnarond¹¹. Even with Luizef drawing out its Ability¹², he was helpless. I knew then that even if the entire guard force had been present, Iris would not have been saved.
”So… honestly, how did it look to your eyes?” Lambdaine asked.
”The King of the Magic Labyrinth, a young girl, and a fairy. To be honest, they didn’t seem like a threat… however. The maid with the halberd who appeared out of nowhere. If she felt like it, she could likely slaughter everyone in this town alone.” Luizef replied.

”…That much?”
”Yes. I myself have no idea… exactly when she got the better of me. And that was despite the opponent not using a Weapon¹⁴ and not even being serious.”
Luizef’s skill is among the highest in the Republic. He isn’t the type to be matched by some local Sorcery¹³ practitioners. Yet even with Luizef, he couldn’t lift a finger against the King’s subordinate. A maid who showed such an overwhelming difference against the current Luizef…
I gathered reports about the King of the Magic Labyrinth from various sources and scrutinized them in my own way. A man living deep within the Demon Forest who comes to sell unknown fruits grown there. To be sure, that sounds suspicious when heard like that.
However, the unknown fruits exist as a fact. Aris and Iris reportedly took a great liking to something called a melon. If the story had ended there, it would have been fine. My son could have just mentioned that there was a man selling rare fruits when he returned to town.
Instead, it seems my grandchildren plotted to seize the cultivation land from that man. Luizef likely tried to stop them… but seeing as he says nothing, he probably considers it his own responsibility. The grandchildren even used their influence with the guard force to arrest the man as soon as he appeared in town. Their ambition to seize the land touched a nerve with the fruit seller… the King of the Magic Labyrinth.
From that point on, according to Luizef, it was entirely one-sided. The King and the others vanished from the spot along with Iris.
The art of vanishing, while a very limited means, is certainly not non-existent. However, that sorcery only makes one’s form invisible; they still exist on the spot. The sorcery the King showed was likely not of that kind. He probably used Teleportation from the interrogation room to the Demon Forest.
I have never heard of Teleportation sorcery before. If such a thing existed, how much could logistics costs be reduced? No, not just logistics. Combined with the exchange of information, it would be a revolution. Furthermore, the King possessed two other things that could not be ignored: high-quality sugar that surpassed the refined white sugar of the Holy City, and a letter of introduction from Princess Liliarette, Her Highness.
I checked, and the letter was genuine. I confirmed the secret sign we had agreed upon beforehand—the Princess’s signature. She had dutifully drawn a picture of a moon to the left of her signature and a cat to the right.
”…Hmph. Luizef. Bring Aris and Alest to me.” Lambdaine said.
”At once, milord.”

Summary:
Shou reflects on his recent sexual exploitation of Iris and the royal sisters while planning to expand his forces with new Unique Individuals. He coordinates with Ami-chan to send Eme-rald on a reconnaissance mission into town using the disguise of Cleonora. Meanwhile, the powerful Councilor Lambdaine returns to Eckes to investigate his granddaughter Iris’s kidnapping. After hearing Luizef’s report on the overwhelming power of Shou’s maid and his use of unknown magic, Lambdaine realizes the gravity of the situation and the legitimacy of Shou’s royal connections.
—
Character Insight:
Shou continues to demonstrate a purely utilitarian and predatory mindset, viewing his captives as tools for ‘Ego Point’ efficiency. He is methodical, planning his escalations of abuse like a resource management game. In contrast, Lambdaine is introduced as a sharp, self-made pragmatist. Unlike his impulsive grandchildren, he immediately recognizes the strategic value of ‘Teleportation’ and the danger posed by Shou’s military strength. His attachment to the ‘Republic’ and his family suggests a more complex motivation than simple greed, though he remains a formidable political player.
—
Behind the Scene:
The author uses Lambdaine’s perspective to flesh out the world-building of the Shital Republic, establishing it as a plutocracy where merchant guilds hold more sway than traditional nobility. The detail of Princess Liliarette’s ‘moon and cat’ signature serves as both a verification method and a subtle hint at her eccentric personality. This chapter marks the transition from a simple kidnapping plot to a broader political confrontation involving the Republic’s highest authorities.
