Chapter 153 Nuns Once Again
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
I came to inspect the operations at the Canarias Convent¹. There, I found the nuns giving Sister Amelia quite a hard time. Just as I had expected—or rather, exactly as I had feared when we first opened—my anxieties had hit the mark perfectly.
Well, I suppose it’s fine since they’re actually meeting their production quotas, but I’m worried about the burden on Amelia.
”My, my! Welcome, Kento-san! You simply must tell us more about that ‘Dragon Ddo-Buddy²‘ you mentioned before!” Mother Shireen said.
”No, we don’t even produce that at the main shop, and I have no intention of adding it to the lineup in the first place,” I replied.
”How could you!” Shireen cried.
Mother Shireen, who supposedly destroyed her rear orifice through ‘training’ in her youth and repaired it with our shop’s products, was the first to approach. She immediately started requesting the production of ridiculous items, so I shot her down ruthlessly. Though… maybe a custom-made ‘Ddo-Buddy’ might actually be a viable idea…?
”Look, look, Kento-san! I made a necklace out of a ‘Ddo-Buddy’ dayo! I think we could sell this as a new product dayo!” Sister Tetra shouted.
”If you’re just using stock intended for shipment without permission, I’m going to charge you for it,” I said.
”Dayo!?” Tetra yelped.
One of the triplets, Sister Tetra, was being noisy with her ‘dayo-dayo’ while showing off a necklace (?) that looked heavy and in incredibly poor taste, so I shot that down too. You’d get hauled off by the military police if you wore that outside, so just stop.
”Kento-san, I recently started keeping multiple ‘Slime-kuns³‘ together, but both of them seem to have no energy nano. What should I do nano?” Sister Metra asked.
”They’re probably fighting over food and are hungry. By the way, if you put two in at the same time, they’ll eventually merge into one, so be careful,” I replied.
”Nano…!?” Metra gasped.
Another of the triplets, Sister Metra, approached while saying ‘nano-nano.’ Since she doesn’t mess with the inventory, she’s relatively harmless, so I gave her some gentle advice. I figured someone would definitely try keeping multiple Slimes, so I adjusted them as a safety measure to trigger a fusion phenomenon.
”Ah, it’s Kento-san kamo~♡ Look, I made a lot of products kamo. About half the production is thanks to Netra’s hard work kamo. It might be time for you to fall for me kamo~♡” Sister Netra said.
”Ah, yeah… I appreciate you working so hard. Keep it up,” I muttered.
”Kamo~♡♡♡” Netra hummed.
The last of the triplets, Sister Netra, sent an uncomfortably damp gaze my way while saying ‘kamo-kamo.’ It’s no exaggeration to say the production at Canarias Convent depends on her, so I thanked her, but I have a feeling that praising her too much would be dangerous, so I kept my distance.
”Kento-san, welcome. Is Lily-san doing alright now?” Sister Amelia asked.
”Yeah, uh, she’s fine. I was worrying so much that she actually got mad at me. Said if I wanted her to feel at ease, I should go do my work properly,” I said.
Sister Amelia was the last to speak to me. I thought I had saddled her with a terrible job, but she seems surprisingly okay…?
Well, she’s supposedly been close with the triplets for a long time, so I guess this is just business as usual for her. On the contrary, she was the one worrying about our experimental slave Lily and me.
”Fufu, I’m glad to hear she’s well. When the belly gets large, some people lose their stamina because they can’t exercise, so please make sure she moves around moderately. You too, Kento-san, it’s still a long way until the birth, so don’t stay too tense. I’ll be coming over for a check-up soon,” Amelia said.
”Sorry for the trouble… But is it really okay for you to leave the convent in this state?” I asked.
”Yes. Everyone has learned the work and is in a state where I can leave it to them. The only part that really needs my hand is the inspection, but the defect rate has dropped, so it’s not that difficult anymore,” Amelia replied with a smile.
”I-Is that so…? To be honest, except for Sister Netra, it doesn’t look like anyone is actually working…” I muttered.
I asked out of anxiety, but Amelia simply smiled. Hearing this, Mother Shireen and Sister Tetra protested while continuing their work.
”My, how hurtful, Kento-san. We might not be able to make as many as Netra-chan, but we are doing our jobs properly, you know?” Shireen said.
”That’s right dayo! Work is a grace bestowed by God, and it’s also an important ‘training’ dayo. There’s no way we wouldn’t do it with all our might dayo!” Tetra shouted.
”No, my bad… It’s just that you guys keep saying and doing such wild things…” I said.
Indeed, their hands showed no hesitation as they crafted the ‘Ddo-Buddies.’ It was clear they had been producing them diligently during the month or two since we outsourced the work.
At first, they started by practicing ‘Holy Hardening Magic⁴,’ and I had a strong impression of them struggling with it, but now they can mold beautiful ‘Ddo-Buddies’ even while chatting.
Well, they’re definitely still doing unnecessary things on the side, but if the production quota is met, I have nothing to say.
”Hmm, well, everyone’s just a little happy that Kento-san came to visit nano,” Metra said.
”That’s right kamo. I want you to look closely at how much Netra has grown and praise me kamo~♡” Netra added.
”Yeah, I guess so. Thanks to all of you, we haven’t lost any sales. I’m grateful. Thank you,” I said.
When I gave my honest thanks, they laughed happily. How should I put it… they’re certainly a wild bunch, but they’re pleasant people who find motivation in others’ gratitude. I suppose that’s exactly what you’d expect from nuns.
I spent some time observing their work and even joined in. Amidst the boisterous chatter that I can no longer hear in the main shop’s workshop, I actually had a pretty good time.
Finally, I invited Amelia to fulfill the other objective of the day.
”Alright, I’ll go take a look at the warehouse now. Amelia, could you show me the way?” I asked.
”Yes, of course. Everyone, please continue with the work other than the inspections,” Amelia said.
”Okay!” the nuns chimed in.
Well, the ‘warehouse’ was really just the room next door that we had cleared out to store products and materials. Once the two of us stepped inside, I turned to Amelia.
”So, are there really no problems?” I asked.
”Yes, just as I said earlier. Everyone is working very well,” she replied.
”That’s good. And you, Amelia? You aren’t pushing yourself too hard, are you?” I asked.
Questions like this are best handled one-on-one. I’m not particularly good at it since it feels like an interrogation, but listening to employee grievances is part of a manager’s job. Since we haven’t been able to talk lately, I had to make sure.
”Oh, I see… Fufu, were you worried about me too?” Amelia asked.
”Ah, yeah. I pretty much dumped everything on you. I feel bad for the trouble I’ve caused…” I muttered.
”Thank you. But really, I’m fine,” Amelia said with a laugh.
And here was the main event. Usually, I could ask something like ‘Weren’t you lonely without me?’ as a joke, but since it had been a while, I was actually getting nervous…
”Also, uh, this might be embarrassing if I’m just being self-important… but, were you, uh, l-lonely without me… or something…” I stuttered.
Yeah, I totally botched it. Even to my own ears, it sounded like a pathetic, sulky way of asking, but Amelia just laughed happily.
”Hehe, would you have preferred it if I acted more lonely?” she teased.
”It’s not that… no, that’s a lie. I was hoping you’d at least say ‘I wanted to see you,’” I admitted.
”Yes, I was lonely, and I did want to see you. Of course, that wasn’t all… but that too is part of my ‘training.’ However, let’s see… the next time I visit the shop, would you be willing to assist me with my ‘training’?” Amelia asked.
”Yeah, of course,” I said.

With that, I pulled her into a hug. Being the serious person she is, she said, “We’re in the middle of work, you know,” but she stayed quietly in my arms. In the teachings of the Church of Demon-Subjugation⁵, while abstinence and penance are encouraged, being affectionate is also promoted.
Well, I should probably reflect on the fact that we got a little too affectionate and almost couldn’t stop—not to mention we were caught hugging by the nuns who came to see why we were taking so long…

Summary:
Kento visits the Canarias Convent to inspect the outsourced production of ‘Ddo-Buddies.’ He interacts with the eccentric nuns, including Mother Shireen and the triplets, who are surprisingly meeting their quotas despite their odd behavior. Kento finds a private moment with Amelia in the warehouse to check on her well-being. The two share an intimate hug and a promise for a future ‘training’ session before being interrupted by the other nuns.
—
Character Insight:
Amelia shows remarkable resilience and leadership, managing a group of chaotic nuns while maintaining her serene demeanor. Her ‘training’ comment suggests that she views her relationship with Kento and the shop’s products through a lens of religious discipline, blending her faith with her desires. Kento, despite his growing business, remains deeply concerned about the personal well-being of his subordinates, showing a softer, more protective side specifically toward Amelia.
—
Behind the Scene:
The triplets (Tetra, Metra, Netra) serve as a comedic foil to the serious work being done at the convent. The concept of ‘Holy Hardening Magic’ being used for adult goods production highlights the absurd blending of high-fantasy elements with the story’s adult themes.
