Chapter 119 Before the Negotiations Between the Evil Dragon and Humanity
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
The day had finally arrived for humanity, having concluded the aftermath of the Seal Dragon Festival¹, to enter negotiations with Yaten in her capacity as the world-destroying Evil Dragon².
Given that the incident was a catastrophe massive enough to plunge the entire world into an uproar, a one-month grace period had been granted to settle the resulting chaos. The various power players from both home and abroad had apparently managed to consolidate their opinions within that narrow window. A day before the promised deadline, an envoy was dispatched from the human side early in the morning, delivering word that preparations for the negotiation table with Yaten, the world-ending Evil Dragon, were complete.
The stage for these talks was the estate of the Shiryuin³ family—the building situated directly above the Underground Temple⁴. Fearing that they might sour the mood of the world-ending Evil Dragon even slightly, it seemed the most prominent leaders of the world were gathering there in person.
It was undeniable proof that the Seal Dragon Festival incident was viewed by humanity as a crisis of the utmost urgency. Ordinarily, I should have attended as a buffer between humanity and Yaten; however, to ensure the negotiations were handled with absolute care and left no openings for exploitation, it was decided I would sit this one out.
”Humanity will surely steer the course toward putting Master on the front lines, hoping to advance the negotiations in their favor -jano,” Yaten said.
”The world-destroying Evil Dragon and her mate, the former head of the Shiryuin. No matter what the agenda is, it’s not hard to imagine they’ll use my status as a human as a pretext to try and smooth things over,” I replied.
This wasn’t necessarily a sign of cunning negotiation tactics on humanity’s part. Through our life in the Underground Temple, I had witnessed Yaten’s disposition as an Evil Dragon thinning, but from humanity’s perspective, she was the very incarnation of the dragon that once destroyed the world. Based on the legends handed down from a millennium ago, it was only natural for them to feel a deep-seated terror toward her. That was precisely why it was easy to imagine them involving me—the Evil Dragon’s mate—in the negotiations as a justification for seeking clemency.
It was a sound strategy for the weak. Yaten had read that far ahead as well, but the situation where the human side would exploit her current mate likely rubbed her the wrong way as the party involved.
Sunlight streamed into the atrium created by the massive hole the Void Dragon⁵ had punched into the Underground Temple during the festival incident. Bathed in the morning rays, Yaten wore a troubled expression, quietly looking up at the clear, cloudless sky. Her black kimono was embroidered with spider lilies, and the curves of her body, rounded like an earth mother goddess, were visible even through the fabric. As a result of constantly conceiving and bearing children, motherhood seemed to seep from her features, yet the sensual gap created by her ravishing beauty was more than enough to stir a male’s carnal desires.
Her glossy black hair fluttered in the warm breeze, each strand like the finest silk thread. Her golden eyes, bearing vertically slit pupils, held a melancholy hue. She did not look like the world-destroying Evil Dragon, but rather a mother worrying over a situation that could change her children’s future depending on these negotiations. Unlike a thousand years ago when she was the center of her own universe, Yaten seemed to have realized the change in her own wicked Innate Nature⁶ after gaining a family. I found myself wearing a somewhat exasperated expression.
”It seems that for me, the Evil Dragon, my children have become the highest priority. It is a strange thing… after trampling upon so many others for so long, to think I have become a mother who simply wishes for her children’s happiness. If this were a thousand years ago before the sealing, I would never have believed it -jano,” Yaten said.
A faint trace of guilt bled into Yaten’s expression. Having awakened to the realization that she had killed and tormented countless living beings as a world-destroying calamity, the fact that she had looked down upon and crushed so many who held the same feelings she did now cast a shadow over her. While her empathy wasn’t directed at every single existence, she seemed to hold particularly strong emotions toward mothers who had children.
She wasn’t so unstable that she needed physical support, but sensing her heart seeking a place to rest, I drew close. Yaten softly leaned her head against my shoulder, entrusting her weight to me. She couldn’t hide her bewilderment at the budding guilt—a sense of sin toward those outside her family, learned for the first time in over a thousand years. I quietly continued to watch over her as she underwent this transformation from an Evil Dragon into something else.
”When I ascend to my Divine Seat⁷, what sort of existence would be fitting -jano?”
”An earth mother goddess… no, perhaps Kishimojin. The role of a reformed world-destroying Evil Dragon who protects young lives and their mothers—that seems to fit Yaten’s heart perfectly right now,” I said.
Japanese gods each have their own roles. Scholarship, business prosperity, wisdom, the arts—there are even gods for thieves, a rare property indeed. To ascend to a Divine Seat meant defining oneself as a god who presided over a specific domain. To put it simply, it meant binding oneself to a divine office, but in exchange, one gained the qualification to wield the corresponding powers. If Yaten were to achieve apotheosis as Kishimojin, she could convert her world-destroying power into a force that shielded young lives and their mothers. Of course, it carried the risk¹⁰ of being exploited by humans, as seen with the Heaven and Earth Reversal⁸ issue, but given her country-ruining beauty’s cunning, that possibility was likely non-existent.
Due to her naturally vigorous reproductive desire, she had already decided to take a Divine Seat associated with breeding and prosperity like an earth mother goddess, but Yaten’s overflowing motherhood had apparently awakened a desire to protect young lives and their mothers as well.
”A god who protects mother and child… Heh, heh. The divine protection I bestow would likely be remarkably effective -jano,” Yaten said with a giggle.
”In terms of raw power, you’re on par with the highest-ranking divinities. The blessings would probably be incredible,” I replied.
”Furthermore, we can look forward to even greater prospects for our Prosperity and Breeding⁹ -jano. If I shield mothers and children while also presiding over the power of fecundity… the Evil Dragon’s bloodline will flourish, killing two birds with one stone -jano!” Yaten exclaimed.
Even as she began to change from an Evil Dragon into a different being, Yaten’s desire for Prosperity and Breeding remained absolutely unchanged. She clung to me, letting me savor the sensation of her plump flesh. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call Yaten the female most driven by reproductive desire in this world; it reaffirmed that the office of Kishimojin, with its earth mother goddess aspects, was the perfect fit. Despite being an Evil Dragon, she held mercy for mothers and infants, her bottomless reproductive desire drove her to fill the entire earth with her own children, and her motherhood overflowed without end. If the power of a god protecting mothers and children were added to that, along with Prosperity and Breeding—
”Once the negotiations are settled and I have safely ascended to my Divine Seat in the land of Izumo—Master, I shall have you savor my power and protection first thing -jano,” Yaten said.
Her gaze was sharp, shining with the cunning of a country-ruining beauty, devoid of any negligence or overconfidence. However, as she pressed her female flesh against me, seething with a passion that made her reproductive desire surge, her powerful embrace made me feel as if I were being clamped in a dragon’s jaws. It was a near-certainty that once the negotiations with humanity and the rituals for her ascension were finished, I would be making hundreds, if not thousands, of lives sprout within this earth mother goddess-like body.

Summary:
With negotiations between humanity and the Evil Dragon Yaten looming in one day, the protagonist prepares for the fallout of the Seal Dragon Festival. Yaten reflects on her changing nature, feeling guilt for her past as a world-destroyer and prioritizing her children’s happiness. Character Insight:
Yaten is undergoing a profound psychological shift from a nihilistic, solitary ‘Evil Dragon’ to a maternal figure defined by her connection to her family. Her burgeoning sense of guilt regarding her thousand-year-old past indicates the development of empathy, a trait she previously lacked. This evolution is being channeled into her choice of ‘Divine Seat,’ where she seeks to reconcile her immense power with her new role as a protector. Despite this ‘redemption,’ her core biological drive for reproduction remains her defining motivation, suggesting that her nature hasn’t been suppressed, but redirected.

Behind the Scene:
The mention of ‘Kishimojin’ (Hariti) is a significant cultural reference to a demon-turned-goddess in Buddhist tradition who protected children after being reformed. The ‘Izumo’ reference ties the story to the traditional home of the gods in Japanese mythology, where they gather annually.
